If you are merely playing with words

    an Arabic Qur'an
    without any deviance
    that they might become righteous
    (392

How can you say playing with words when the Quran telling people is diverting from the Quran because their scholars manipulating words in the Quran ? When they changed the true meaning of words in the Quran? More important, you are also repeatedly claiming the Sunni and Shia etc changed the meaning of the Quran, but when it comes to you or people you like, it is okay. . . you are so quickly to judge other people are playing with words Hypocrisy ?

    . . .

then the translation literally should be there is no god except THE GOD.

You are denying what and accepting what?

(The logical structure of the "negative form" (no, &#1575 , and "affirmative form" (only, ) in the shahada. . .)

"no god except THE GOD" ?

    That makes sense to you?

it doesn't make sense to me, sorry, sounds the same argument like the Trinity . . .
"they are not three Gods but one God, but it is three Gods"

Why don't you try logic and logical structure of a statement. laugh

    and I'm right. .

    "no god except THE GOD"

the truth in this ideology there is absolutely no "Allah" . . only "God".

    (&#8756 no allah Only God

      Peace Mazhar,

What is the problem with the sentence and why do you who have faith in God enter the discussion here?

THE GOD is THE GOD and because you put THE so can it only be ONE.

Because he plays with words then I said "no god except the god. It follows the same logical pattern as the phrase in Arabic.

No god but the god, is that sentence so hard to understand for you for God sake?

The people say there are other gods and the god corrects them. God has never stated that there are multiple gods.

GOD is a title for a position of power and there is only one with that rank

This is clear mockery. Not the first time we are seeing a post with word play like this.

          Seconded.

Arabic sentence comprising four words is heavily loaded with semantic information. The multitude of semantic information in the sentence is because of the elided predicate of Absolute Negation Particle.

The Arabic sentence says that none of the gods listed above and others which you could not count is alive, they all are either matter or dead. The only god who is living is Allah.

                Absolute Negation Particle.

The Arabic sentence says that none of the gods listed above and others which you could not count is alive, they all are either matter or dead. The only god who is living is Allah.

It is clear there are "negative form" and "affirmative form" in the shahada, two contradicting premises. . .

Premise 1 No god ("-" negative form)
Premise 2 Only Allah ("+" affirmative form)

ISSUE Allah is "God" or "Not God" ?

If Allah is a "God", then it will contradict the first premise of "No God". . . . the "negative form".
It will become "self contradicting" argument. . .

Premise 1 No god ("-" negative form)
Premise 2 Only Allah ("+" affirmative form)

                IF Allah is God

Contradiction "no god" vs. "is god"

                Refer here

                http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=9606632.msg352642#msg352642

How about "NO god BUT Allah" ?
This is also a "self contradicting" argument. . . and worst, it assumes the "duality" (shirk) for one to compare and exist.

It is of paramount importance that we understand how big a mistake it would be to evaluate and translate this statement according to the colloquial language spoken by the Arab population today.

Let us give an example. The Arabic statement La rajulun illa Ali can be translated literally as ?There is no real man except/but Ali? or ?There is no man like Ali? or ?Among the men none are Ali?s alike? (note that all of these statements denote there are in fact other men, but they are not like Ali).

However, when the word illa is used in conjunction with the word ALLAH it does not mean ?a god like Allah?, that is, it should not be understood as ?there other gods, but none are like Allah?, as the very meaning denoted by the word ALLAH invalidates this supposition from the onset.

Just as the auxiliary verb was (khaane), when used in conjunction with Allah, loses its general meaning and is taken as the present simple tense, when the word except (illa) appears next to the word Allah it also loses its general connotation and is taken to mean only. Here is an example

KhaanALLAhu gafurur rahiyma cannot be translated as ?Allah was Ghafur and Rahim? as the qualities denoted by the Names of Allah cannot be subject to time; they are ever present and ever effective.

Similarly, illa Allah cannot mean except Allah, which denotes the existence of others, but must be understood as only Allah!

The compositional qualities of the One to which the word Allah refers, does not accept the existence of another, especially that beside itself. Muhammad's Allah

                . . .

For this reason. . . I believe the word "God" use in the Quran is merely for the description, but not the absolute meaning of Allah.
It is because no one can understand "Allah" on its own. . .

For this reason, when the companions asked what is Allah?
Allah reveals Chapter 112. . . to explain what is the real Allah.

and the word "God" in other Chapters must be subjected to Chapter 112
                the "interpretation provision" for Allah.
ie. Ahad (oneness), Samad (absolute), not beget or begotten. . and none is equal. .
none here say Allah is a God.

These two premises have invalidated the concept of Godhood altogether. .
and bring the true understanding of Allah. . .

Note This is also true for the true meaning of a "Believer". .
where Allah provided for the "interpretation provision" for the meaning of Believer in (4915) (82).
The meaning of a "Believer" must be subjected to these "interpretation provision".

                . . .

However, the monotheist translation is claiming to absoluteness of Allah as God. . .
There is not a single word of Allah in their translation. . which is quite absurd when the Quran itself claims otherwise.

ISSUE Allah is "God" or "Not God" ?

                  Negation is NOT to deny the acceptance of a large number of gods by various people. Negation is about the elided predicate with reference to this community/set of godheads of various people. None of them is Living. The only god who is ever living is Allah the Exalted;

Allah is just a title of a position of power. A distinct one.

                      Have faith

                        Negation is NOT to deny the acceptance of a large number of gods by various people. Negation is about the elided predicate with reference to this community/set of godheads of various people. None of them is Living. The only god who is ever living is Allah the Exalted;

That's fine for an opinion. . but opinion on its own is irrelevant since anyone can make such statements, even by those who don't know how to read or never go to school or even some retarded sectarians. There is no difference at all.

Therefore, the real issue is how do people prove it through a valid logical statement and premises?

I believe this is the rule for correct interpretation, ie. no discrepancy.

Do they not reflect on the Qur'an? <-- is referring to the interpretation
If it was from any other than God <-- wrong interpretation
they would have found in it many a discrepancy. <-- if there is discrepancy, it is not the correct interpretation
                        482

It is the word of Allah, and therefore it can be proven. . .otherwise Allah would not challenge people to produce one like the Quran.

This is like "anti codon" in genes interpretation.
An anticodon is a trinucleotide sequence complementary to that of a corresponding codon in a messenger RNA (mRNA) sequence. An anticodon is found at one end of a transfer RNA (tRNA) molecule. During protein synthesis, each time an amino acid is added to the growing protein, a tRNA forms base-pairs with its complementary sequence on the mRNA molecule, ensuring that the appropriate amino acid is inserted into the protein.

We will soon concentrate on par excellence features of Grand Qur'aan under the heading Inbuilt guidance for translation Criterion - Keys for translation of Grand Qur'aan, which serve as keys for accurate translation; particularly for evaluation of the accuracy and veracity of the translation in the target language text. Many of these features are like Transfer RNA and its anticodon which help avoid erring while translating; and to understand, unambiguously, the message of the Messenger RNA.

Critical thinking Follow an enquiry based process use prior and background information

Is it for reason that they have purposely not made it their habit to cross-examine the Qur'aan critically pursuing coherently its miscellany Unitary Verbal Passages that mirror established realities and facts?

Mind it that had this Qur'aan been a dictate by some one other than Allah the Exalted, indeed on cross-examination of its contents, pursuing from initial to last statement, they would have certainly found-detected quite a number of variations-conflicts-differences therein.

This is the litmus test for evaluating and verifying the whole truth. No further element should be at variance and conflict with the whole body of text. Grand Qur'aan is suggesting that its reader should be active and a strategic reader. Answer this question and you will become an active reader. It sets a purpose for reading and establishes motivation. It moves the reader away from passively accepting the text which limits comprehension.

So how do people explain this contradiction ?

If Allah is a "God", then it will contradict the first premise of "No God". . . . the "negative form".
It will become "self contradicting" argument. . .

Premise 1 No god ("-" negative form)
Premise 2 Only Allah ("+" affirmative form)

                            IF Allah is God

Contradiction "no god" vs. "is god"

No offence intended, but I think you don't really understand what is logic and the logical structure of an argument. . what can be considered as a valid and non valid contentions. . . that's why you are merely insisting and repeating your conclusion without offering any valid premises to counter the argument. . which I think it is pointless.

                                  Peace,

                                  You have now forced rudeness.
Wrong, it is who you keep repeating faulty, void logic, insisting on your own fantasy of being god yourself/there existing no deity at all (which is infact, ironically a logical contradiction btw ~ you cannot be a god if you do not exist).

                                  "No object except/only The Object"

This clearly is referring to something special (a special object discarding all other objects). Does this mean that objects do not exist altogether? NO! you would have to be you know, incredibly stupid to take that to mean that objects don't exist altogether.
The statement means that there are no other objects except this one special object, so there is only one object, essentially. If you cannot make any sense of that...then

Either get professional help or believe as the people had believed when the Quran was revealed and as other scriptures of God were revealed. No one except The God can help you/guide you. But since you believe that The God does not exist, then there is absolutely no one who can help/guide you.

Really ? okay let just go through a simple test, to see the level of your logic and capability to identify valid and logical premises . . . .

Let's make it simple. . do you understand the "structure of an argument" and "legal or word structure of the Quran" ?

or. .even simpler, can you read statutory law?

                                    For example. ..

                                    Penal Code Fabricating false evidence

                                    1. Whoever causes any circumstances to exist, or makes any false entry in any book or record, or makes any document containing a false statement, intending that such circumstance, false entry, or false statement may appear in evidence in a judicial proceeding, or in a proceeding taken by law before a public servant as such, or before an arbitrator, and that such circumstance, false entry or false statement, so appearing in evidence, may cause any person, who in such proceeding is to form an opinion upon the evidence, to entertain an erroneous opinion touching any point material to the result of such proceeding, is said ?to fabricate false evidence?.

Let say you are the Prosecutor, how many elements do you need to prove for charging a person on the offence of fabricating false evidence?

ie. for establishing a prima facie case. . .

Can you list each of the elements from the above section?
So that we can say the offender is committing an offence of fabricating false evidence. . .

Please also draft the charges. . .

the above is far much easier than the Quran because the context and structure are very clear. . .the Quran, is not like that.

how could anyone argue with those who don't even understand the issue and does not provide any premises ? argument by repetition? brickwall
