    In the name of Allah,
    the most benevolent, ever merciful.

In order for peace to be with you - it must first resonate within you. So may each of you whom are reading this find peace within yourselves first.

The reason for this post is to find out if anyone else has come across this understanding or idea about salat. I am aware that there are numerous post regarding salat, but the information is so vast I just thought that I would post this understanding or idea instead of reading through thousand of posts regarding salat.

Why is the salat prayer is not mentioned in the Quran step by step?

This is the question I asked myself when I started studying Islam. I prayed to Allah (swt) and came across this answer in the Quran.

A Contemporary Translation by Ahmed Ali
2945 Recite what has been revealed to you of this Book,
and be constant in devotion. Surely prayer keeps
you away from the obscene and detestable, but
the remembrance of Allah is far greater and Allah knows what you do.

We do know by reading the Quran that salat consists of standing, bowing and prostrating. So I Googled Standing, Bowing and Prostrating and came across some very interesting information.

Each movement of the Salat prayer is closely related to Kundalini Yoga and the times of Sun Salutation of Yoga are very close as well.

My first reaction, of course, was to deny it and say that Yoga of all forms are related to polytheism and idol worship, but the similarities of the two are so closely identical I had to further research. I found that the purpose of Kundalini Yoga is to unblock and balance the chakras or energy points that are aligned with our spine. When these energy points are out of balance or blocked they can attract negativity.

Now, some of you are like - no way, this is non sense. Right? Please allow me to explain further before you pass judgement and I will be using the only source of guidance to prove my point which is the Quran.

Hopefully, you are familiar with the "ego." If not, please take some time and research what the "ego" is as I will briefly explain what it is here.

The "ego" or nafs in Arabic, is made up of the material self or the animal self. It's only concern is me, myself and I. It is somewhat necessary because it is our flight or fight response in a dangerous situation. But it can get out of control and become the very living "god" that most people worship and don't even realize it.

The seven deadly sins are related to the seven energy points or chakras that align our spine, there are others that I will elaborate on later in this post, which are

    Pride (Takabbur)
    Envy (Hasad)
    Backbiting (Gheebah
    Stinginess (Bokhl)
    Greed (Hirs)
    Lust (Shahwah)
    Malice (Keena)
    CORRELATIONS
    7th chakra Wisdom
6th chakra Brow or Pineal Gland
    5th chakra Throat
    4th chakra Heart
    3rd chakra Stomach or Naval
    2nd chakra Sex or Moon
    1st chakra Root

Now, I shall use verses from the Quran to prove or maybe even disprove this understanding or idea of how all the text above is related.

Lust (Sexual and other desires) Prophet Adam
    Anger Prophet Nuh and Ibrahim
    Greed Prophet Musa
    Jealousy and scrimping Prophet Isa
    Arrogance and proudness Prophet Muhammad

"He (Allah) said, ?What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you to?? He (Iblis) replied, ?I am better than him. You created me from fire and You created him from clay.?? (Surah Al A?raf 712)

    Iblis disobeyed Allah's commandments and
and shows a sign of arrogance by saying he is better than
Adam because of the content and make up the outer most
    appearance.

"Remember, Moses said "My people, by taking this calf you have done yourselves harm, so now turn to your Creator in repentance, and kill you pride/ego. (Quran 254)

If you know anything about astrology or astrotheology you will find
that each zodiac represent some aspect of life. When Allah (swt)
mentions worship of something other than Allah, the people
are using it with the wrong intentions. The Calf or the "bull"
represents the zodiac sign Taurus which is used with wrong
intention will bring about Greed and or Materialism.

"Have your considered him who takes his own lust for his god?" (Quran 2543)

Unfortunately today even a person whom considers himself/herself
a Muslim can allow there desires to become their god.

"And do not strut about the land with insolence Surely you cannot cleave the earth, nor attain the height of mountains in stature. (Quran 1737)

This verse maybe speaking of displaying arrogance and pride
There are many other examples within the Quran

Salat, in my opinion, is like a gift from Allah (swt) for which we receive divine power not give our power away. You maybe thinking, what power? Energy is power and we are energy beings, the very essence of our true self or spirit/soul is energy including our thoughts and emotions. Allah (swt) does not need our prayers but we need the energy that Allah (swt) provides to help us unblock or re-align our energy points/chakras in order to stay away form the nafs or seven deadly sins.

Now, before you say whatever and be like yeah Please keep this in mind. No knowledge or understanding is within itself Good or Evil, but if you chose to use it for Good it shall be Good and if you chose to use it for Evil, it shall be evil. This is true with most things in life, especially when dealing with anything "esoteric." Your intentions must be pure and for good, what ever you do in life whether it be the words that come from your lips, the places your feet take you, and what you do with your hands.

Thank you for reading this post

Why is wudu or ablution mentioned step by step in the Quran?

O you who have believed, when you rise to prayer, wash your faces and your hands to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles. And if you are in a state of janabah, then purify yourselves. But if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women and do not find water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and hands with it. Allah does not intend to make difficulty for you, but He intends to purify you and complete His favor upon you that you may be grateful. (Quran 56)

wash your faces, to cool the pineal gland
wash you hands to the elbow, to cool the hand chakras and smaller energy points in your arms
wipe over your heads, to cool your 7th chakra or crown wisdom energy point
wash your feet to the ankles, to cool the feet chakras and smaller energy points on the legs

All done before salat prayer and not just some pointless ritual. Please do some research yourself to find out why.

If water is not present, why use clean dirt/earth? Please do some research yourself to find out the significance in dirt and it's importance.

The reason I say this is because my understanding maybe different than yours on this topic. Hopefully, I have sparked enough interest where you will continue look up this understanding or Idea about salat.

While you are at it, which inshallah will further prove my point on how "esoteric" Islam truly is, please research why the Kabbah is cubed, black and the purpose of circucumblating it "seven times."

You are going to come across some articles and maybe videos that are negative about this understanding, but once you have the knowledge or gnosis of what the truly mean then there is nothing to fear.

"Do not follow which you have no knowledge of, verily the ear, the eye, the heart, each will be questioned." (Quran 1736)

Yes, I would also like some clearer explanation of this capital sins and the he relationship the poster estblishes between them and the prophets. Hints at something but is not properly explained.

On the other hand there is no doubt that if as-salaa consists of physical movements those movements must have some usefulness or benefit. Personally I feel that postration gives a feeling a marvellous feeling of seclusion of pleasant enclosedness, of peace... so I do not doubt that there is some purpose or meanign to those movements and postures.

Aminah that's quite an interesting post.

The source that you reffered to is based solely on Sufism, which is still interesting to read, do you think that those emotions or characteristics that the Prophets had can be sourced from The Quran?

I mean referring to Prophet Muhammed as having arrogance and pride, could you clarify?

                  Salamun alaykum.

Appointing rites and rituals does NOT in any way make Allah a sectarian Allah. It is for our own benefit only if you knew. You are probably looking at the deen through the lens of the 21st century. We are the people of the modern era, with knowledge of science and technology, hence we do not need any rituals like the people of the old, right?

Those who uphold the time-scheduled salat by bowing and prostrating with humility in their hearts, remembering Allah alone without calling unto prophet Muhammad or any other prophets (pbut), and without engaging into any kind of shirk, are indeed spiritually better and more purified than those who do not. IT IS A FACT AND YOU CANNOT DENY THIS. THEY ARE GLORIFYING AND SEEKING THE PLEASURE OF ALLAH MORE IN AN APPROPRIATE MANNER THAN THOSE WHO DENY THE TIME-SCHEDULED SALAT.

Allah is not a sectarian, the disbelievers and hypocrites make Allah a sectarian. .

and look at the following, do you sincerely believe Allah command Muslim to fast in the month Ramadhan ? laugh

You must be kidding, we are discussing about salat and there are millions of people who are performing salat and at the same time committing crimes, corruptions, bribery, cause disunity and burned people alive, misused zakat and sadaqah money for themselves or some huge projects etc. . . . some of them rape their own daughter, torturing their wife, don't work and live on their wife's income etc. . .

"..(ritual) salat prohibits immorality and wrongdoing.." (2945) ?

Yes, I would also like some clearer explanation of this capital sins and the he relationship the poster estblishes between them and the prophets. Hints at something but is not properly explained.

                      Bold Indeed.

I think that passage is only guesswork. I don't understand why she/he put such baseless information about prophets. It's quite annoying for me if people said something unappropriate about the prophets of Allah. I know the prophets are not infallible humans, but I think we should be careful (should not be careless) if we need to say something about them, that's part of our respect to them.

On the other hand there is no doubt that if as-salaa consists of physical movements those movements must have some usefulness or benefit.

Sister, did you read brother MoF's newest proposition about Salat?

In here http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=9605447.470, please take a look at Reply #479.

And also Reply #485, here http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=9605447.480

What do you think if Salat is actually doesn't have any relation with contact prayer?

Whether you're open for such possibility?

Personally I feel that postration gives a feeling a marvellous feeling of seclusion of pleasant enclosedness, of peace... so I do not doubt that there is some purpose or meanign to those movements and postures.

I also like the moment of prostration. )

It seems that I can feel secure feeling by doing prostration with humbleness before God.

*But I don't think that I can feel similar thing if I prostrate among many people, such as in mosque.
Looks like I have problem to concentrate in crowd.

I suppose doing prayer and prostration regularly (in peaceful place) will be good for soul, perhaps those are kind of 'nutrition' for human soul.

However, related with Salat, I think that Salat probably means something else than regular prayer.

                      Salm.

Absolutely nothing is forbidden in case of showing affection to God in your home or elsewhere if that is what you like. Giving an emotional expression to a prayer to God occurs in more than only the sect Islam. But we may be warned against using it as a way to show our piety to people like pride and also say that it is commanded by God, and we better not turn things into a Pagan ritualism. That draws people away from God for sure.

                        Have faith

You must be kidding, we are discussing about salat and there are millions of people who are performing salat and at the same time committing crimes, corruptions, bribery, cause disunity and burned people alive, misused zakat and sadaqah money for themselves or some huge projects etc. . . . some of them rape their own daughter, torturing their wife, don't work and live on their wife's income etc. . .

"..(ritual) salat prohibits immorality and wrongdoing.." (2945) ?

                          Salam alaykum.

When did I say their salats are being established appropriately? They idolize prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in their salat. They have exchanged the Quran with the books of Bukhari, Muslim etc. They do not study the Quran themselves, but blindly follow their peers, sheikhs and forefathers.

I was simply talking about those believers who establish their salat from the guidance of the Quran alone and live through the rules, commandments and teachings of the Quran alone without associating any partners with Allah; those who use their God-gifted intellect and do not follow the herd mentality of the masses.

                          Regards.

If a Christian says he follows the Bible, and at the same time believes Jesus (pbuh) is Allah, will anything from him be accepted? From a Quranic perspective, it won't be accepted.

Now, if Muslims establish salat and simultaneously commit non-stop shirk, will their salat be accepted? Again, from a Quranic perspective, it won't be accepted.

And the burden of proof is upon you to prove me that siyam is not about fasting, and salat is not about time-scheduled linking/connecting with Allah. I have 40 different translations by 40 different translators (which includes Quran-alone translators) whose understanding regarding salat and siyam is corresponding to mine. So the burden of proof is upon you to show us clearly that their translations are wrong, why they are wrong, and how they should be translated. And then provide us with your translations of all those passages using valid source of reference.

Why should I prove? I don't believe fasting is from Allah. . .

and I don't believe in God who does not noticed that the earth is a sphere. laugh

IMO this is nonsense, and I don't believe in that God, sorry.

O you who believe, DO NOT ASK about things which,
                                  if revealed to you, would harm you;
and if you ask about them after the Qur'an has been sent down,
then they will become clear to you.
God pardons for them, and God is Forgiving, Compassionate.

and in fact, I have showed that the Pillars of Islam is fake . .

Therefore, show me verses from the Quran that tells how to salat from A to Z.
If you cannot show from verses of the Quran, then why you are making compulsory for more than 1 billion Muslims when Allah have not explained it in the Quran ?

I just say "remember the lesson and improve yourself". That is all. So much for salat.

IMO watch how the animals went out during the morning and back at the evening. . each have their own duty and contribution to the eco system and overall system of life.

Do you not see that everything in the heavens and the earth glorifies (oneness, assimilate) God? Even the birds in formation, each knows its contact prayer (duty?) and its glorification (oneness, assimilate). And God is fully aware of everything they do. 2441

That might explain about solat, ie. for Muslim to go out during daylight and actively establish balance in the society. .
perform their duty and service to other human beings. .
                                      benefiting self, family and humanity
so that they can maintain the system for living in peace and harmony
helping each other in anyway they can to succeed in life
so that they can develop the economy and many can sadaqah, establishing real wealth
that lowering bribery, corruption, and prevent crimes rate
makes everyone financially, emotionally and environmentally happy
and thus . . make the society highly motivated for unity, as "one nation". .

IMO that is salat. . .

"..salat (performance of duty according to the injunction of the Quran) prohibits immorality and wrongdoing.." (2945)

However, I'm still struggling to find the right word to describe all the above. . .
