It seems that true believers are a tiny minority!

4153 We will show them Our signs in the horizons, and within themselves, until it becomes clear to them that this is the truth. Is it not enough that your Lord is witness over all things?
Allah will show us His Signs in the horizons - By the dawn; by the night fall - the beautiful timings of a day such as the sunrise and the sunset felt by us in our minds; if sunrise and sunset in the two horizons of opposite natures are so beautiful to our mind, then it is an indication to see things by the truth that whatever happens as opposites in all our lives e.g the changing fortunes by natural forces is truthfully beautiful if we set our eyes in the horizons looking up to the future, that alternatively keeps changing for the better i.e., the loss of fortunes is an indication of newer life which is about to begin in the opposite direction, in the eastern horizon with its ever beautiful liveliness. The only thing wanted of us by Allah is relax when you are down with your fortunes in His belief, looking up to your future in the opposite direction or horizon, to your worldly know how. This means you shall turn your backs to your ways of life and look up to Allah in absolute faith and relax. By the dusk, it is for your relaxation; and By the dawn a more beautiful life is very near when you wake up, if only you set your upon the two opposite horizons.

I do currently think the Quran may have been divinely inspired, but not sure about the extent of the tampering that took place with it.
Which parts of the Quran are you doubtful of?
-
Well, actually it may not even be clear what 'worship', 'God alone' and 'true believer' means.
Salam brother Zulf.
Perhaps it may not even be clear what "religion" means, when you say "One of Satan's (whatever Satan is) biggest successes is indeed the creation of religion."
If I say, my religion is being good and doing good to others - am I helping Satan?
May Allah guide us all to the straight route.

Arman -

All doubts are based on the interpretations of the authors whose works result in translations; in other words, all translations are the opinions of the verses of Quran. We know the real meanings of every verse of Quran is individualized to the situation and experience of the individual and that Allah alone can reveal it to those who read a verse. Hence believe in the revelations and let the revelation of every single ayat guide you from the present to the future world. Put in each of your experiences of the revelation and glorify the Quran. Translation always shall end up in arguments and chaos. Only those who do not believe in the revelations of Allah will engage in arguments over the verses of Quran.
40.4 None argue concerning the revelations of Allah save those who disbelieve...

I do not agree on translations being the sole problem. Basically you are then insulting the 1.6 billion Muslims population's mindset then and them being evil and twisted. After digging deeper into it, I realized this idea is pretty much a nonsensical one. Too much emphasis on following a scripture than listening to and trusting our own conscience, reasoning and observance of real-world evidence. Not a single finger is ever pointed at the scripture for the way people are tormented because of it. It's always people's fault.
People fail to realize that after all we are limited and flawed human beings, and many do try their best to uphold what they can. If they still get attacked and criticized and judged on their character for having issues with the scripture, well, so be it. It's immensely tiring. And I like what Zulf said
"This is what religion is all about. People are following their own desires. People are just guessing and following conjecture. People have invented an external God which is just an imaginary construct. This is because people for starters don't even know about themselves. People have no idea how their own minds and brains work, and then they try to figure out things like 'God' and 'meaning of life'. Indeed people walk in blindness and darkness, but making very tall claims. People follow blind faith, which is something horrible. Religion is all about blind faith, while a connection to God is all about gradual experience and pondering... not repetition and self-hypnosis and self-indoctrination of religious guesswork dogma."
Peace.

No one gets as evil and twisted as me. I think its pretty ironic though that the people with funny ideas about justice are the ones who seem the most twisted of all often!

Zulf is a sharp buddy and a fellow countryman too.
Belief is an invented delusion. God does not really seek belief. In fact the word iman/amen does not even come close to the definition which is traditionally used for it.
If you start speaking about spiritual affinity then you may be at least near the right track.Salaam

If the mindset of 1.6 billion people are the same then Allah says not to follow the majority people for if you do they will lead you astray from the path of Allah. Shall we have to obey Allah or the to obey the mindset of the majority?

So again you are basically saying it is the 1.6 billion people who are unintelligent, unwise, twisted and has evil intentions. Basically all they need is to pronounce the Shahadah to be this way. Can you see the irony behind it? So why are a lot of Muslims this way? Is not a single finger going to be pointed at the scripture? Maybe their delusion of considering the scripture entirely good and to be entirely followed is what made them this way? Even many Christians and Jews seem to admit the fault in their scriptures and encourage separation of religion and state at least when government is involved.
Peace.

I am sorry if I sound rude in any way. I have a tendency to be a little too direct.

Peace.No. I do not. But Allah says 6/116 Please read the ayat and then comment.
-
No, not at all. You are airing your view; I do not mind it. I see only the content therein concerning the topic under discussion. Go ahead.
Alright, thanks ) Because I get worried people might think I am targeting them personally or something. The very fact that you people spend so much time trying to learn more of the truth hopefully, makes you guys special already.

It seems to me that those of us who worship God alone are a very tiny minority in the World. What are your thoughts?
Once you start to believe that you're a true believer then you're actually not a true believer..
Once you start to become arrogant and think that you're true and everybody else is false then you're actually not a true believer..
Once you start to think that you're above others then you're actually not a true believer..https//s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/8a/23/95/8a2395f69509e4506c602c71be6f6ee9.jpg
That is why 'true believer' is a minority in the world..
Salam / Peace

ArmanSalamun Alaikum.
Since brother Zulf has not cared to clarify the meaning of "religion" in the concerned statement, I am feeling obliged to express my disagreement with the statement as it came.
Per my humble understanding "religion" (Arabic Millat) without any further qualification implies "a system of beliefs and practices that a group of people adhere to in order to have successful life as well as afterlife." When defined generically like that it is not possible to accept that creation of such a framework is one of Satan?s biggest success.
Religion provides a framework under which people can take shelter in face of inherently uncertain nature of theological and spiritual understanding. It is just like a house under which people take shelter to get protection from uncertain weather. Now if someone commits a crime inside the house (as people often do) we cannot blame the house ? we have to be critical of the people who committed the crime and misused the house. Blaming the house as one of satan?s biggest success does not help.
So for me creation of ?religion? is no more success of Satan than creation of ?science? or ?politics?. Men created religion for their own benefit and just like every other good things in life it has been corrupted, misused and misunderstood. Instead of religion being a tool to serve men, men have become a tool to serve religion. Perhaps this reversal of understanding is one of Satan's greatest success, not religion itself. Neither is satanic activity a monopoly of the religious people, nor are irreligious people universal benchmark of righteousness. So, lashing against ?religion? itself is incorrect diagnosis of the problem.
And, by the way ? accepting messengers and scriptures (including Qur?an) and at the same time overruling religion would be a bit hypocrisy because no matter how we try to define / understand them ? ?Messengers? and ?holy books? are religious ideas.
May Allah guide us all to the straight route.

ArmanArman, you have some good points, I appreciate them.
By the way if someone rejects the Quran as a religious scripture, would that person still be considered a Muslim? Because you said it is God who has set a moral compass in our being, so following that compass makes one a Muslim. Now if that moral compass rejects the scripture because of issues with it, would he/she still be considered Muslim? And that moral compass is perfectly functioning by the way, it is not broken or the person did not "wait" for a sufficient time to see the "good fruits" of those rejected teachings. So what do you have to say on this?
Peace.
