But, then you didn't!Your valid answer apparently is that the word flat is used thus the earth is literally flat, even though the world is not literally flat even to one's naked eye. But it's still literally flat, just in a very specific way that you have chosen to see it as. I'll leave it to the personal discretion of those reading as to how clownish that answer is. I'll just wait and see if someone else has a more interesting explanation of the "flat earth" that isn't as silly as this.

I do that all the time. It's one of my favourite hobbies. I also like to look at my crystal ball and pretend I'm a nanoant creeping steadily to enlightenment on it's surface. Guess what the nano-ant sees? And if you had a crystal ball, or probably any ball...you wouldn't have to. You'd know.We shall see.

I find it rather silly actually.
Personally I would not be decided on a flat earth unless I could verify it for myself instead of theorize. It feels one would just risk dumbening oneself if it was wrong because it sounds quite retarded to believe the Earth is flat in 2015 AD with all technological gadgets and satellites in the sky and telescopes observing in the far distance with an objective constructed to view on ridiculously far distances.
Well, since space technology is getting cheaper and more readily available and new technology is being developed it will likely not take far until it is undeniable that there is an outer space.
I have also heard and also seen a documentary about research on producing artificial gravity which if they are successful would shut the mouths of those who speak against the phenomenon of gravity. This would be produced by a rotary engine at high speed which replicates the movement of a planet and thus induces gravity so that astronauts do not have to float while in space.
In science-fiction and in scientific theories there are anti-gravity generators which probably can be invented with the know-how.
Probably if man can invent strong enough magnetic accelerators they could propel a craft by using the innate magnetism in the planet itself and surrounding planets. Future spacecraft engines will probably be hybrid with multiple propulsion technologies for while in the atmosphere and close to to the proximity of the planet and while it is drifting in space.
If they can get the craft to react against anti-matter like a matter antimatter reaction the craft may be able to change direction in space or strong enough magnetic engines can use the radiation from bodies to navigate.
Everything is the matter of development of new technology. My motto is "Everything is possible, nothing is impossible".
Personally I find all research to speak against this flat Earth conspiracy. So many nations are in the space age and have their own programs. And even Iran is working on this and they have no relationship with NASA or America at all for USA is their archenemy.
Black +1 Exactly what I have been trying to say. Earth is sphere (if that is the exact word) NOT flat. Most that are denying this are doing it out of ignorance that is what I have observed so far. I know I have written 'round' but it's because my English sucks, what I mean is 'sphere' to be more specific. Always nice to learn new words in English.
Red I wouldn't really trust Iran on what they claim. Much what they keep saying is actually a lie IMO. For example their aircraft they call "Qaher-313" has received a lot of criticism (see https//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qaher-313#Doubts_of_viability_of_aircraft) and I believe it is totally fake. There is no doubt they are trying to do similar things here. Iran often claims to have developed technology as a way to scare off the Westerners but in reality it does not that hold that technology. But I might be wrong. However that still doesn't change the fact that other Asian countries such as China, Japan and India are great at aerospace engineering. Unmanned probes and rockets have been fired up. Everybody has acknowledged that what NASA says is true. There is really no point for NASA to lie because that lie would have been exposed a long time ago and would have made NASA look unprofessional which is not what they want.

Please ponder why it mentions "mountains" - Why "mountains"?
If this verse speaks about "the rotation of the ball-earth", it should not only mountains, but everything on the globe's surface move together, including the sea, lakes, rivers, trees, people, buildings, etc.
My purpose in this thread is not for debate, but to support God and His messages. And I hope there are more people who can be aware that this issue is actually not trivial.
I think Pazuzu brought this flat-earth issue as means to wake people up from the deception. The big issue is about the deception itself. The deception directed to us, and they work organized to deceive us, until the deception is so big and widely spread. They wants to control us, they wants to determine things for us, in other words, they wants to take over God's position.
Brother, if you wake up, perhaps you would recognize the other deceptions, which perhaps could make you astonish on how deceptive, how evil our enemies are. Evils are really serious in their pursuance - taking us into Hell, the Qur'an speaks the truth.

So flat vs sphere has become a matter of identity. Too much emotions... like in politics, religion, nationalism and sports. Science-Objectivity has left the building, and Indentity-Emotion has taken over.
It would be nice if both the Flat side as well as the Sphere side of the debate would compile a list of say 10 questions that the opposing camp would answer. Like "How do you explain xyz". It'd be nice for a comparison. Then everyone can judge for themselves on a limited number of issues.

And do not use the "flattened" the Earth because it does not confirm that it is flat but to flatten a surface means to smooth the area when it had obstacles.

I will clarify this issue once and for all.
Besides the plane dissapearing from GPS, the "strange" thing that happens on the direct flight from Auckland to Santiago, even if it does not stop to refuel, is that about two thirds of the way through the trip, the airplane will be flying parallel to a land mass which, according to your perspective of what the Earth looks like, should not even exist.
Look at the map of the spherical Earth and tell me if you see any land mass whatsoever between New Zealand and Chile. If this is what the Earth looks like, the trip should be an open ocean flight.
Do me a small favor. The next time you book such a flight, look out your window (or the window on the opposite isle) after you have been flying for about 7-8 hours. I guarantee you that you will see a distant coastline that should not be there. This is the coastline of Central America. If you are flying during the day (which I suspect might not be the case), and the weather is clear, you will see the coastline. If the fight is during the night, you will see the lights even from the airplane. Snap a photo of it (unless you are also going to disbelieve what you are seing through the window).
If you don't see the coastline, I will personally refund the price of your ticket.

But how are you so certain that it will pass the central america? If the flight need to follow the flat earth map as you shown it will need to fly pass north and central america as you are claiming. But the flight times dose not add up. Usually Sydney to LA flight takes around 12 to 13 hours. Whereas Sydney to Santiago flight takes 12 hours in Boeing 747-400 .
Btw I have checked the flight tracker today . Both Sydney-Santiago and Auckland-Santiago are tracked and flight path is shown.
