I agree with you about oneness and uniformity. After finding the truth, however, I learned that the way I love Allah can no longer stay limited to doing ritualistic prayers. And my mom now has given me more faith in the idea that they hardly have much value. I still fully support recital of Surahs. Its in the Quran anyways and they have fulfilled many of my wishes.

Peace reel, turn to your lord in the way that is best for you, rituals included
or excluded. Allah has given us a means of approach and contact and has
not left us without such measures, this is one of the purposes of rituals
given to Abraham and later to us. If rituals have no value why were they given to Abraham?
While sectarian poison has found it's way into the deen, we must not throw
out the "baby with the bathwater" but purify the rituals to the point that they
are once again wholesome and beneficial. While we can feel free to invent
our own ritual , Allah has the best suggestions.

I But can't recitation be a kind of prayer?

Good question, the recitation of the Quran is a definite help and is a
contact/connection with our lord, but the Quran mentions reciting
    and salat in different contexts.

May Allah grant you a blessed Ramadan

      Peace,

I agree and this is what I tried to show in my opening post of this thread.

I also feel that rituals are burden but we have to follow it because it is how Allah guided many of us only because of our level towards Him. If we upgrade in our grades/levels then surely Allah makes things easy for us and may remove all the rituals/burden from us. BUT we have to be honest to ourselves and has to follow what Allah has guided us to.

Are you sure that Allah removes worship from those he favors?

You said rituals/burdens, which I think you were referring to the formal salat? So I asked if you think it works like that really, that Allah actually removes worship from those he favors. I think we're on topic? No? Yes, you and your friends have actually found that removal of formal worship means you are being favored rather than cursed by Allah?

Yes brother, but ritual is not ritual when it is done thinking more about the postures than focusing on Allah. My sis still prays in traditional way (sectarian stuffs removed), but since sun goes down now at 830pm she keeps complaining about the prayers. I admit that I was like that also before turning to Quran However, now its pretty different. For me, the intention matters and not sitting and standing up.

Peace reel, If what Allah has commanded you to do is too difficult and
a hardship, then do what is best for you. I recommend our continuing study of
Quran to bring the truth to light.

Peace brother mmKhan, burden can also be considered as duty to Allah.
Muhammad and the believers had a far greater burden/duty. They went
to war, were ostracized, killed, persecuted, and slandered, they observed Ramadan,
salat, zakat, and hajj. I on the other hand live a life of wealth and peace,
so compared to them I have no room to complain. I think we can agree
that the rituals need to be fixed, but not by selfish desire but by Quran Kareem.

                    God bless

no human being can ever force you to pray, its your own decision. Just read the quran and ask god for guidance and i think most def youll succeed.

Whenever someone knows the rules (by following what God has sent down, eg the holy quran) and put his trust to the one and only God, then there is no doubt that these will be the pure and righteous, if God wills.

Agree, but what if it is not about difficulty but the idea that salat is all I need to do as mere an everyday task. The reason why I asked that question is because of something I was told years ago by a friend. I told the story in another thread, but wouldn't mind mentioning it here once again. One of my friends told me she thought of celebrities during her salat. I asked her are you sure it is right and she replied "whats wrong with that?"

The fact is that hardly anyone remembers Allah in his salat

If you really want to remember Allah then

Verily in the creation of the heavens and the earth and in the alternation of the night and the day are signs Unto the men of understanding. Who remember Allah while standing or sitting or on their sides and give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth, , "Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You ; then protect us from the punishment of the Fire. (Aali Imraan 191)

When we can remember Allah while standing or sitting or lying on sides then why we need to offer the robotic ritual Salat?

O you who have believed, remember Allah with much remembrance (Al-Ahzaab 41)

And remember thou the name of thy Lord in the morning and in the evening. (Al-Insaan 25)

And remember your Lord within yourself in humility and in fear without being apparent in speech - in the mornings and the evenings. And do not be among the heedless. (Al-A'raaf 205)

Remember Me wherefore, and I shall remember you and unto Me give thanks, and be not ingrate unto Me. (Al-Baqara 152)

And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves , remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins - and who can forgive sins except Allah? - and do not persist in what they have done while they know. (Aali Imraan 135)

If Salat is established for the remembrance of Allah then what is the remembrance of Allah in the following verses?

men whom neither commerce nor sale distracts from the remembrance of Allah and (from) establishing the prayer (established for the remembrance of Allah) and giving of zakah. They fear a Day in which the hearts and eyes will turn about 2437

Distraction from the REMEMBRANCE of Allah as well as from ESTABLISHING the Salat (established for the remembrance of Allah). HOW?

Satan only wants to cause between you animosity and hatred through intoxicants and gambling and to avert you from the remembrance of Allah and (from) salat.(established from the remembrance of Allah) So will you not desist? 591

Satan averts from the REMEMBRANCE of Allah as well as from the Salat (established for the remembrance of Allah). HOW?

For remembering Allah there is no need of ritual Salat and in ritual Salat there is no remembrance of Allah except recitation without understanding.

The fact is that hardly anyone remembers Allah in his salat

The fact? How do you know about that? Can you read people's mind & heart when they perform ritual salat?

I wonder why you seem very dislike the ritual salat? Why?

Why you seem to against it very hard?

Whether you don' like if we do the ritual?

If there are people who enjoy (or feel comfort, or even feel obliged) for doing ritual prayer and they do it for Allah alone, then I think we should let them do it.

After all, this kind of ritual doesn't harm us, right?

Whether they (the members who perform ritual) force us to do the similar ritual?

No, I don't feel they force me to do that.

And perhaps, beside their ritual, they also do many other good deeds which are supported by the Qur'an, so in this case, I think they also follow the the other messages of Qur'an (aside doing the ritual).

And perhaps they also remember Allah a lot in their daily lives (outside the ritual times).

When we can remember Allah while standing or sitting or lying on sides then why we need to offer the robotic ritual Salat?

Blue I think this is quite disrespectful.

If they sincerely doing that for their Lord, to please Him, then it's inappropriate for us to use "negative name calling" toward their ritual.

I think we should not insult their ritual, especially if they found that the ritual benefits them.

                                        Peace.
