Peace.

You shall seek help through steadfastness and the Salat. This is difficult indeed, but not so for the reverent,246
who believe that they will meet their Lord; that to Him they ultimately return. The fog will lift and the mind will be clear. The connection to the Lord cleans the mind.
GOD bless.
Peace. -
Is it okay even if I think about Kim Kardashian and her dad's sex change during the prayer? Does that make the ritual valid?
Peace reel, what you think about is between you and Allah
therefore ask Allah for the answer to your question.God bless

I would think of it as disrespect to Creator.

The reason why I asked that question is because of something I was told years ago by a friend. I told the story in another thread, but wouldn't mind mentioning it here once again. One of my friends told me she thought of celebrities during her salat. I asked her are you sure it is right and she replied "whats wrong with that?"

Reel,
The Rabb is not a man with human traits that you think it is disrespectful to speak with.

The fact is that hardly anyone remembers Allah in his salat
If you really want to remember Allah then
Verily in the creation of the heavens and the earth and in the alternation of the night and the day are signs Unto the men of understanding. Who remember Allah while standing or sitting or on their sides and give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth, , "Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You ; then protect us from the punishment of the Fire. (Aali Imraan 191)
When we can remember Allah while standing or sitting or lying on sides then why we need to offer the robotic ritual Salat?
O you who have believed, remember Allah with much remembrance (Al-Ahzaab 41)
And remember thou the name of thy Lord in the morning and in the evening. (Al-Insaan 25)
And remember your Lord within yourself in humility and in fear without being apparent in speech - in the mornings and the evenings. And do not be among the heedless. (Al-A'raaf 205)
Remember Me wherefore, and I shall remember you and unto Me give thanks, and be not ingrate unto Me. (Al-Baqara 152)
And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves , remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins - and who can forgive sins except Allah? - and do not persist in what they have done while they know. (Aali Imraan 135)
If Salat is established for the remembrance of Allah then what is the remembrance of Allah in the following verses?
men whom neither commerce nor sale distracts from the remembrance of Allah and (from) establishing the prayer (established for the remembrance of Allah) and giving of zakah. They fear a Day in which the hearts and eyes will turn about 2437
Distraction from the REMEMBRANCE of Allah as well as from ESTABLISHING the Salat (established for the remembrance of Allah). HOW?
Satan only wants to cause between you animosity and hatred through intoxicants and gambling and to avert you from the remembrance of Allah and (from) salat.(established from the remembrance of Allah) So will you not desist? 591
Satan averts from the REMEMBRANCE of Allah as well as from the Salat (established for the remembrance of Allah). HOW?
For remembering Allah there is no need of ritual Salat and in ritual Salat there is no remembrance of Allah except recitation without understanding.

The fact is that hardly anyone remembers Allah in his salat
The fact? How do you know about that? Can you read people's mind & heart when they perform ritual salat?
I wonder why you seem very dislike the ritual salat? Why?
Why you seem to against it very hard?
Whether you don' like if we do the ritual?
If there are people who enjoy (or feel comfort, or even feel obliged) for doing ritual prayer and they do it for Allah alone, then I think we should let them do it.
After all, this kind of ritual doesn't harm us, right?
Whether they (the members who perform ritual) force us to do the similar ritual?
No, I don't feel they force me to do that.
And perhaps, beside their ritual, they also do many other good deeds which are supported by the Qur'an, so in this case, I think they also follow the the other messages of Qur'an (aside doing the ritual).
And perhaps they also remember Allah a lot in their daily lives (outside the ritual times).
When we can remember Allah while standing or sitting or lying on sides then why we need to offer the robotic ritual Salat?
Blue I think this is quite disrespectful.
If they sincerely doing that for their Lord, to please Him, then it's inappropriate for us to use "negative name calling" toward their ritual.
I think we should not insult their ritual, especially if they found that the ritual benefits them.
Peace.

Qurnic lh (ه has naught to do with the Sunni tradition of namaz!
I don't against what you wrote above (neither agree nor disagree, because I still need study more about the meaning of Salat).
however, what I disagree is that if we insult those who perform the ritual salat (for God alone) or put name calling toward their ritual.

peace
I wonder why you seem very dislike the ritual salat? Why?
Because it is unquranic
Why you seem to against it very hard?
Because it is fabricated (not by the prophet)
Whether you don' like if we do the ritual?
Its their choice let them do whatever they want. Who am I to stop them?

What should I call an action of ups and downs without understanding.

Prove that ritual salat pleases ALLAH?
I think we should not insult their ritual, especially if they found that the ritual benefits them.
You are going to the EXTREME. I did not insult anyone. If their ritual salat benefits them then Alhamdulillah it is good for them
Instead of replying me in a sarcastic way you could have pondered on what I wrote and tried to understand the difference between the salat and the remembrance of Allah.

Lets take an example.
You hire an employee and explained him the duties he needs to perform during his shift.
When shift is about to end You check your employee and found him standing in a corner and repeating aloud "my employer is great" and he has not performed his duties.
What will you do?...become happy that your servant is praising you endlessly since his shift started irrespective of the fact that he has not done his job.
On the other hand you found that your servant has fulfilled his duties and while performing his duties he remembered you by remembering your instructions and being apprehensive that if job is not done right you will be unhappy.
Which servant will continue his job and who will be fired? Decision is yours..Peace

I loved your parable, Novice. Very funny but also slightly sarcastic.
Hafez Kazi,
There are many errors in Quran's interpretation. Dhekr is one of them. That word means that you do something for someone in order to please them, i.e. honor them. Bingo. You have a better explanation at once.
You should take a peek in ancient Arabic lexicons. Ancient interpreters (when such were made) did not care to search in them but they followed their whims and desires (i.e. their sectarian doctrine).
Be well

Because it is unquranic

Because it is fabricated (not by the prophet)
What if there are believers who are guided by Allah to understand salat as ritual?
Its their choice let them do whatever they want. Who am I to stop them?
Bold Yes, I agree. handshake
Who is stopping them
I'm glad if you didn't.
However though, you seemed stress about the people doing the ritual things.
Neither it benefits the believers.
It seems there are members here who found benefits from their rituals.
Did I force anyone to stop from praying ritually?
I hope you didn't.
How do you know? Are you god?
I'm not 100% sure, that's why I wrote "perhaps",
and I apply positive thinking towards them regarding this issue.
What should I call an action of ups and downs without understanding.
As I recall, you had discussion about this with brother hawk99, right?
Please check the posts from some members (e.g. hawk99, mmkhan, Armanaziz),
and please read about what kind of ritual salat which they do.
Prove that ritual salat pleases ALLAH?
Prove that ritual salat does not please ALLAH?
You are going to the EXTREME. I did not insult anyone.
To be honest, I dislike the name calling toward the ritual salat, e.g. call it "acrobatic".
Next time, please don't use it (the term written with blue color in my previous post in this thread) again.
If their ritual salat benefits them then Alhamdulillah it is good for them
InshaAllah.
Instead of replying me in a sarcastic way
I am sorry for that,
and I am sorry if there is/are other post/s (or words) that I wrote which unpleasant for you as well.
I ask for apologize, dear big brother. group
In my language (Indonesian), "Saya meminta maaf."
you could have pondered on what I wrote and tried to understand the difference between the salat and the remembrance of Allah.
I think your dislike towards ritual might influence your study on salat, and perhaps it made your writing (regarding this issue) not equitable.
I'm sorry if I'm wrong about that.
Peace.

Its funny to imagine that she does that every time haha. I get inspired and refreshed during salat because I use it as a meditation.

The servant who doesn't really realize I'm great. If that is both of them, both of them shall suffer immensely.
