Don't miss it! It will blow up your mind when you come to the conclusion that the "the two sons of Adam" are also a stage in the Human evolutionary history or, at least, a community.
(Please post when you are done with your ramadan researching, @The Guided one)

i am not ready with researching with ramadan, but i was reading Quran and in surah 1770 i read about sons of Adam. This surah tells us that Adams sons were favored among others who Allah created. Peace

527 And recite to them the news of the two sons of Adam with truth. They had both made an offering, and it was accepted from one of them, and not accepted from the other. He said "I will kill you!" He said "God only accepts from the righteous."
Two people here. With no names, and despite of the hebrew and christian traditions, we don't have a Cain who is an craftsman or farmer and an Abel, the stockbreeder. So the anthropologistic approach is another one or God would have referred to their occupations
And then God addresses to us, to the wholem the children of Adan
1770 And We have honored the Children of Adam and carried them in the land and the sea, and We have provided for them of the good things, and We have preferred them over many of those We created in a marked preference..
3660 "Did I not pledge to you, O Children of Adam, that you should not serve the devil for he is your most ardent enemy?"
and many other verses
So who are these "sons/children of Adam"? what does the murder mean? why arent there in the Qur'an so many details as in the other traditions? (" recite to them the news of the two sons of Adam with truth Are the other traditions about Cain and Abel the result of human interpolations?
Too much to think. God knows better.

5.27 speaks about two children of adam does not speak about the two children of adam.
I think nothing told in the Qur'an is intended as historical teaching but as moral teaching. Therefore no need to enter particulars. And I am also sure that all the proper nouns in the Qur'an are not such s we understand them today, but names with a meaning which describe what the person or the thing are.
Take isra'il. Isra' is the same as one of the suras in the Qur'an, the people f the night travel, may be the people who undertook a journey in the darkness (towards the light?). Which would still depict a phase in the human development continuing with the first steps into divine conscience undertaken by the adam and their successors. The story of two children of adam shows also a step in the moral development of mankind.
I think, given the spirit and form of the Qur'an it is a gross error to ever look at it in any way as an ethnic history or stories.
The favors shown by God to the bani adam are not arbitrary infatuations by God with any of His creatures but the destiny He has gifted to every creature or thing in His creatio as that particular being. And let us ot forget that what the Qur'an says is not that the human kind is the most favoured but one of the most favoured. We are ot the only ones at the peak of Creation. As in the 17.70 We have bestowed on them our favour over many of our Creation.
Andn we do not know how long we will last as a species. The earth history is very long. We do ot know that there were othr huaities before nor know whether there will be othrs after us.

5.27 is about the two children of Adam, it's dual masculine.

Agree. there are few individuals in Qur'an, and mostly when they are addressed like "Children of..."

Who is saying this? If you thought I am, then you misunderstood what I wanted to say. I never wrote about ehtnics or something like this. I was talking about anthropology and a theory that suggests that Qur'an is actually explaining it. Trying to explain such a thing in terms that could be understood by any human being in any moment of history is surely one of the miracles of the Qur'an.

Of course He is the God of the worlds. And he favored us with common sense (I insist, intellect and inteligence is the beguining of homo sapiens, the one gifted by God, it was His gift actually), obviously in His Creation there are other kind of gifts/favours or manybe the same in highest grade (who's the animal watching our world today?). I am talking about human species, not a region, not a place, not a people, not an ethnic.
Have an inspiring Friday!

How do you know it is definite and not indefinite?
What if history and moral teaching is one thing?
What I mean is that the purpose does not seem to be that we learn history but that we learn moral principles. Hitory may fit that purpose, but the purpoe may be fulfilled with enough dcriptio of the moral deeds involved and therefore no need to write history for history fans. However that dos not mean that if indeed a historical fact is stated that it is wrong. If the Qur'an says something then it is correct. What I was meaning is that the Qur'an should not be called to account if it does not give all the historical data that we would like. It is not its purpose.

No, I didn't mean at all that yousaid that, but there is plenty of that around and I just wanted to dispell any hint that it would be understood otherwise. I regret if I have generated confusion.

True, we can not know. So, 2 communities of many others... it helps my hypothesis even more )

Of course history is not the purpose, the Qur'an itself states that you don't need anything else to understand its meaning. But I find here a way of explaining many things, allegorically of course, and those have to do with prehistory. No one is going to write history over this, either no one is trying to find historical data (I hope so!!), but it is a fact for me that God is telling us the history of our ancestors to teach us something. So looking at paleontologist research just help us understand better.

No regrets!!! group
