    1. All women have to wear Hijab in a muslim country.

Wrong This Quranic law/commandment is only for believing women (see 2431, 3359). In other words, this verse is speaking to women who are mumins. This verse is not speaking to women who are muslims.

I disagree that wearing hijab is a commandment for anyone (even mumins).

There's already an article about it on the misconceptions site http//www.misconceptions-about-islam.com/dress-code-women-veil.htm

Concerning verse 2431, not all translations translate "bikhumurihinna" as head-covering (http//islamawakened.com/quran/24/31/). Some of them use the word veil or shawl. A veil covers the head, but a shawl doesn't always, and can either cover the head or the shoulders.

And then there's the structure of the verse 2431. I feel that this verse may be addressing a specific group of women. These women may have been wearing headcovers, or not - I personally feel that it doesn't matter in this argument. Anyways. The prophet is commanded to tell the "believing women" something. So here we have the subject of the verse the believing women that the prophet is commanded to address. These women in question "cast their shawls over their cleavage." It only means they have to cover themselves, their chests. These specific women that the prophet is addressing may be wearing headcovers, or shawls. Whatever it is, now I know the current dress code of these women. They are wearing some type of garment, but they are not wearing anything to cover their chests. They are told that they should use the garments they are wearing to cover their chests. That's all the verse says. So we should cover our chests. Nowhere in the verse is it explicitly stated that a woman is obligated to cover her head.

Verse 3359 does also not discuss a headcover or "hijab" at all. God only says in this verse that we should cover ourselves. A connection cannot be made between the two using only the information the verse provides.

I've seen people try to use verse 3333 as an argument for hijab too, but it doesn't work, as 3333 is only addressing the prophet's wives (see 3332).

    Peace. )

      Peace Comrox,

I disagree that wearing hijab is a commandment for anyone (even mumins).

When I used the word Hijab, I wasn't referring to headcover. I should have used another quranic word or have formulated my sentence in a different way. On my list of misconceptions, I should have written this instead All women should cover their cleavage."

Off course you right. How could I make such a foolish mistake? This sucks. P Haha.

You are right. I completely agree with you.

        peace TH, all,

Just read your post. The following has been added
        http//misconceptions-about-islam.com/freedom-speech-islam.htm

Also the following has been written but I'm not sure if this misconception is widespread enough to warrant inclusion
        http//www.misconceptions-about-islam.com/noah-flood-global.htm

        Feedback welcome.

And why cover the cleavage? Because a woman may be kind not to arouse any man sexually, especially those who would wish to abstain from this world. She can expose the cleavage to anyone who does not care, but if she is caring she might still not.

Do not you get it? The covering is in order not to arouse any males (or females) sexually and is the purpose and not some purposeless divine law.

Men are not the beneficiaries of 24.31, women are. Skin of he bossom is the most vulnerable of all the bodyand so it is what is underneath. It is a matter of health to protect it. Apart form that it i really a bother to have people gook at it, although in societies where women and people i general go about undressed that should not be a problem. Again both sexes have been told to guard their their sight on that count. Women do not have to guard males sight. Men are not tied or made in such a way that they cannot move their eyes or their head in any way they want, exacly like women. They have ordered to guard it and not delegating such a thing on women, so they should do it and stop behaving like spoilt children that need a mammi all the time. It is pitiful and it is not imposible nor farfetched that they have self-composure. They are quite capable of it if they care to do so.

            Salaam

Hm, covering could also be related to self esteem. A lot of men and women suffer from low self esteem. If people aren't covering their bodies, this leads to comparison. People judge and criticize others. People judge and criticize themselves. If everyone's dressed modestly, they don't have to compare themselves to you and you don't have to compare yourself to them.

People will always find a way to complain someone's body. Even in countries where people are conservative about covering have this weird obsession towards who is fat and who is skinny. Even for clothes, there are shallow social rules related to how much they cost, what materials they have, etc (

I do not want to start poisoning anything, but I think that Saudi women are famous for pending an awful amount of money on cosmetic, jewels and expensive high fashion. The cover very much, but I suppose they arrange themselve to make all that expensive stuff visible. Which lso goes to show that the Qur'an is 100% in 24.31 even without thinking of poor men feeling aroused.

Often we see this facebook posts with "Rules of war according to Mohammed/Islam" with the rule "Do not cut down the trees".

But what do we read in the Quran

595 Whether you cut down a tree or left it standing on its root, it was with the permission of God. He will surely humiliate the wicked.

                            May our Lord guide us.

                                        misconception

                                        "There is no Gospel anymore..."

                                        , and some others..

"There is no Gospel anymore, because of the council in Nicea"..

So how can Mohammed let the people of the Gospel judge with the Gospel like 1400 +/- years ago according to the history (I am not a fan of history..)?
547 And let the people of the Gospel judge with what God has sent down in it. And whoever does not judge with what God has sent down, then these are the wicked.

Oh, and this verse is another good one to think about

568 Say "O people of the Book, you are not upon anything until you uphold the Torah and the Gospel and what was sent down to you from your Lord." And for many of them, what was sent down to you from your Lord will only increase them in transgression and rejection. So do not feel sorry for the rejecting people.

Where does the 72 Virgins thing even come from? It reminds me of Krishna's gopis in Vrindavan. ???

thats just explaination of hoor in the mind of secterian people who always have sick thinking going on their mind... lol

nothing else.. as far i know the way you feel nice by consuming thing in this life will be differ than consuming and enjoying things hereafter...

example you really dnt need to drink a wine for getting intoxication , and you dnt need to eat a food or fruit for getting taste... it will be some laws of that life which we cannot grasp now but we can slightly understand... all are examples in a methphorical ways
