I remember reading a thread on homosexuality a while back in which someone wrote about their experiences of being in San Francisco

Clearly, this is just one person's experience/opinion. I've never been to San Francisco myself. Still thought the above was worth noting. If someone wants to take the approach that homosexuality as a whole is bad, then this could be the "evidence" for a whole society - of predominantly homosexual people - being prohibited by God.

In SF, LGBT constitute only 6.8% of total population..
Thus they're not yet "dominant" or "majority" but a very very small minority...

To me 'homosexual' as the cause of 'city destruction by explosion' (meteorite or other causes) is as absurd as 'sacrificing virgin to the Gods' is the cause of "rain" to fall on the area. (Which was widely believed in Canaan during the time of Lot).

Speaking of which... there will be a BIG earthquake coming to SF (and other US western coast cities) between now to 2100..
I wonder whether they will again blame 'homosexuality' as the cause of the earthquake in SF (and other US west coast cities).

The BIG earthquake will definitely NOT caused by the movement of earth's crust tectonic plate which happened to lie just few miles away from US western coast... that doesn't make sense at all... how can an earth tectonic plate caused an earthquake right?

Definitely... Homosexuality is to blame as the primary cause for the BIG earthquake... with Sodom as evidence...

It does seem that a fragment of the human population is born innately homosexual. It means it was the decision of "God" according to your common reasoning regarding that phenomenon. These people cannot help their condition except to enter celibacy if they like to refrain from vain bodily stimulation. It has been shown these people cannot endure a normal heterosexual relationship.

Intersex is intersex, both male and female are present. Chromosomes may be other than XX or XY, or a combination thereof. One gender may manifest more than another biologically, and it is typical for the person to identify with one gender. Intersex people are often not fertile, but can be--circumstances vary.

Biological women who are transgender can get pregnant, ISA. Biological men who are transgender can not get pregnant, even if they have had surgery to have female parts.

Transgender and such that are done through surgery is the work of the devil.

I don't recall anyone on the thread promoting anything; it is entirely possible to comment/study/observe on something without supporting or detracting.

I'm well aware of 4119, although many people don't seem to consider it when it comes to circumcision and FGM and tattoos and piercings and GMOs and cosmetic surgery (under ordinary circumstances).

                That's it ?

You are well aware but it is ok, let's look at all these people who don't even consider that verse under ordinary circumstances...let alone consider it under "special circumstances". What is even the point of saying that ? It doesn't help you at all.

It is not new that there are many people who cherry-pick from the Quran what suits their society or their "principles", it is not new at all, people before Quran did it to previous scriptures.

God knows what's in the hearts of the people.

Special circumstances might include repair of cleft lip or cleft palate, surgery after a disfiguring accident/burn, breast reduction surgery for health benefits, cosmetic surgery after a mastectomy, and so forth. These are some of the entirely valid reasons for cosmetic surgery. There are even a few times when circumcision is medically necessary.

It is not new that there are many people who cherry-pick from the Quran what suits their society or their "principles", it is not new at all, people before Quran did it to previous scriptures.

There are many things that are not new in the world. Clinging to tradition for tradition's sake, injustice, hatred, bigotry, ignorance, hypocrisy, oppression, and a host of other things come to mind. It is easier to dismiss uncomfortable truth than to embrace it and it takes a strong person to admit (even to themselves) that they have been wrong. If anyone feels that an ayat is out of context in a discussion, they should say so, and explain why; this is, after all, an open discussion.

God knows what's in the hearts of the people.

And ALLAH needs no help in this or any other regard.

                      Greetings and Peace, all group

Longer conversations can be unwieldy and confusing if posted without reference to what has been already said. It is like cutting a meal into smaller portions for consumption. Color coding is also an attempt to make it easier for the reader.

I see you deflecting what A Submitter said and what I said. Let me help you out by taking your red comments outside of my comments and re-address the thing properly.

4119 is relevant to the conversation. Could it be that you are assuming what my understanding is, even though you have not even asked? hmm When information is presented, one shouldn't presuppose the position of the presenter.

The other things that people do to change creation are applicable to the conversation in regards to considering how serious it is, for considering that there might be acceptable reasons, and for people to think about applying Guidance to THEMSELVES before thinking to apply it to others. How can a person claim a moral high ground if they engage in what they decry? That would be nothing but base hypocrisy.

And whoever obeys GOD and His messenger, He will admit them into gardens with rivers flowing beneath them; and whoever turns away, He will punish him with a painful retribution.

There are times when sex reassignment surgery has been indicated as a medical treatment. I wasn't even aware of this until recently.

The only people that were saved from the people of Lot were the family of Lot, except his wife.
1.They were a rejecting people; so this could explain why the women of the people of Lot were not saved; we aren't told if they were homosexuals too, unless I missed it.

Peace A Submitter, I know that you remember that other societies
were destroyed besides the people of Lut, and that all perished,

                        in the case of Jonah.

                        So my question becomes

inhabitants of the annihilated cities towards the guests of prophet Lut
                        or casual mutual relationships?

i think the nation of lot not only make casual relationship with boys but they also rape the boys when it needed.

like in highways .. or travellors..

even with their own people.. so may b its another reason lot is pointing out that you did what somebody never did.

in general we know its difficult to rape a boy..

and also when we look at the events of guests , it is apparent that they were totally stranger and the nation want to have them forcefully , then lot get frightenned ...

but they make lot satisfy that they cant do any shit right now because we are here to teach them a lesson..

now from here my llittle bit crazy commentry started...

the first case of martial arts
two guests vs nation of lot who is notorious in raping/murdering/robing...

but when they try to approach them the surprise punches and kicks and elbows they all recieved one by one ...

it was a heavy day on them... al of them first get the lesson and everybody was pissed off aww look at this embarrsment just two guests of lot beat us all like shit hahahahah muscle

after that nation was still in a shock and guests of lot make things possible for making earth quake fiery projectile and stuff what brother jaffar is refferring... thats why the controllers were there... due to a reason what abraham asked from them... to bring a sudden change in atmosphere which make nation look like a defeated dogs infront of lions...

cheers now... although from bold part its all my commentry possibly they even get more worse then what i painted in alll this...

between Lut, the messengers and Lut's people, as in 11/77-80
                              then read my previous question.

                              peace

My answer is; I don't know, my knowledge in this matter is limited.

                                Salam

Peace A Submitter, I know that you remember that other societies
were destroyed besides the people of Lut, and that all perished,
the men, women and children, except the believers, that
Imho is because the cultures replicate and reproduce themselves
and the children (whom the women give birth to) emulate,
imitate or traditionalize their predecessors unless Allah wills as
                                  in the case of Jonah.

                                  So my question becomes
Do you and forum members perceive sexual aggression on the part of the
inhabitants of the annihilated cities towards the guests of prophet Lut
                                  or casual mutual relationships?

                                  &

Brother I don't know why so many are obscured from these very clear Ayaat, but Allah is All-Wise, All-Knowing.
I think the evidence we have from The Quran indicates they had consensual relationships, whether they were casual or monogamous.
Lut offers them his daughters. He obviously would not be suggesting for these men to simply rape or have non-marital relations with his daughters. He was a prophet! Meaning he wouldn't be unsound as to offer his daughters to savage rape-driven molestors.
They just preferred men as their mates instead of women and the term prefer is also used in the related ayaahs.

Is it possible that the behavior demonstrated in the demanding of Lut's guests was an unprecedented behavior that was brought out as a result of their ongoing transgression and situation/trial presented to them?

An interesting question would be what then be did the people of Lut mean by 1570
"Did not we forbid you from the world?"

Perhaps understanding that can lead to understanding whether their behavior was in fact precedented, and they had been frequent in this behavior.

Also did the people of Lut want to robb Lut's guests or commit immoralities and shameful deeds?

I find it fascinating that people get more emotionally upset from homosexuality than with all the killing, corruption and injustice going on. People will spit on homosexuals who do not disturb anyone, but they have no issues letting their children play GTA where you systematically run over people with your car, or any other shooting games or movies where murder is glorified.

Here I believe this rape/robbery/sinful culture was directed at
