    The sun's in your eyes
the heat is in your hair
    They seem to hate you
    because you're there
    And I need a friend

    to make me happy
Not stand here on my own
    Look at me standing
    Here on my own again
    Up straight in the sunshine

No need to run and hide

      Greetings!

i feel afraid. i read ayat ul kursi, pray to Allah. the fear always goes away. but then my brain lingers even if my heart is at peace and the fear comes back. im afraid my family might find out about me being god/quran alone. im afraid they and everyone i know will shun me.

Fear comes from the chattering mind. Fear comes when we follow the mind everywhere. We are not free, so we fear.
      Meditation is the cure.

there's something else. im afraid one day i might lose faith entirely. im afraid i'll become an ex muslim. thing is, i dont want to be one. all the exmuslims but few ive met feel alot of resentment. i dont want to live a life of resentment. i felt happy when i discovered god and his book alone because it opened this whole new window for me. it was like a breath of fresh air into a new world. i feel like im in that new world right now, following a lamp of light that is slowly but surely guiding me. but im afraid one day that light will go dim, and dim, until it vanishes. and then once its gone, i'll be left in the darkness. the window will be gone, so i can never go back to life i had before, but it will be too dark to find a new window, or a new path. i'l just be lost in the darkness, wandering around, nowhere to go and nothing to guide me.

I can relate to your fears. I know them too.

WHY are you afraid of losing your faith? You are afraid of punishment, that religion has told you about. It's that simple. It's quite interesting when you think about it. You are afraid of losing faith in something that tells you about punishment. But if you lose faith in it, then you don't believe what it says anymore, so you don't believe in the punishment in the same way. But if you still fear, then you are still believing what the faith dictates, which means you have NOT lost faith in it. The mind is indeed a tricky bastard ). So what are you actually afraid of deep down?

i know i can always pray to God. I know He will always listen. But im worried sometimes that I can't hear him. i feel like i was living in a bubble my whole life that suddenly burst. the bubble burst because of the doubts i was having. but with each doubt, an answer came. and i felt relief after finding each answer. but i fear that one day the doubts will become too overbearing, and i wont find an answer anymore, or the answer wont overcome my doubts, and then i'll just give up or i wont handle it anymore.

If you cannot hear God, then how do you know there is God? Honestly. Are you just believing what people tell you to believe, out of fear? Be honest. Don't fear! You cannot pretend anyway! Reality is manifest, and your innermost condition is clear to The Creating Awareness. So there is no need to try to pretend and fool God by saying we believe, just because we are afraid. God is not a person. God is in you. You can only fool yourself.

As long as we evolve, we evolve in stages, in slow progression, even in bursts and quantum leaps. Sometimes you get insights, and sometimes you feel stagnant, stuck and in darkness. It's natural. Don't worry. It feels most difficult as long as we resist, so yes, then giving up is actually a good idea... things can then move forward again.

but sometimes i feel like there can be an alternate ending to that. that instead of drowning inside the vessel, im able to break out of it. but then im in the middle of a hurling, violent, raging ocean. and im drowing in the ocean too, but i can swim, unlike the vessel i was trapped in, i can move, i can swim. but i cant swim forever, the ocean is too fierce. im searching for something, a lifejakcet, a buoyant, a raft, a rope, a single strand of rope that i can hang on to, and i can hold onto it, and it will save me from drowning.

Sometimes, clinging onto things make life difficult for us. People usually cling on to stuff like religion, culture and worldview... quite naturally. This is what we build our identity from, although our real selves are something altogether different. We are not our culture and personality. We are the Witnessing Awareness behind all this. This is where we go wrong. We are told in the Quran not to associate anything with God, but actually we should not associate anything with ourselves either!

What exactly does it mean to disbelieve? Who are those people who Allah curses in the Quran, He says those who disbelieve? I don't think it refers to anyone who isn't muslim, it refers to someone who has seen the signs, who has received guidance, who has witnesses the truth, yet despite all that they choose to disbelieve. Im just scared I may become one of those people. its like i dont understand. the doubts i recieved before were because Allah was leading me away from sectarianism into this new path. so then why now am i still feeling doubts?

This is indeed a good question! What does it mean to believe and disbelieve?

To believe is not something we have much control over. It just happens as we experience things. This is where religious people show their ignorance. People belong to certain religions based on geolocation and family. This means God will burn you in hell because he made you be born wherever you were born. Fair? Not.

So maybe 'believe' has more to do with action than with philosophy. We can choose action regardless of what we believe. But we cannot just change what we believe.

I advice you strongly to start looking inwards! Go for meditation. Learn about yourself. This is the first of God's creations you should study!!! Don't be afraid. If we don't know about ourselves, how can we know about anything else and God???

      Peace O0 sun

What is faith? It may sound stupid, but I still have no idea what people really mean by that. For me it is a spongy term like "the soul". The Quran is precise at the beginning of Sura 2 about that. Why did God not just say This is a book for people who believe in God? - Think about it.
I do feel afraid to ask God for something, because I think he knows what I want anyway and if I beg for something that would not change anything about what I should have or not have. Or perhaps I'm just to proud to beg.
Well I hope you just log off from the forum for now, not entirely.

All too often, "faith" means 'blind faith', which means 'holding a set of ideas as truth simply because you are told it is the truth'. It is usually circular and without any real experience, and people go to great lengths to convince themselves about the truthfulness in what they have decided to believe.

Faith tends to be addiction to an idea. When the idea is challenged, you experience inner symptoms of abstinence, and you switch to defence mode.

We have instincts and we can sense realities that the scientific disciplines cannot detect, but blind faith is not the way to get to know reality and our Rabb. Worshipping the intellect and the mind as god prevents us from seeing the reality around and in us.

In essence, it is healthy to question even very fundamental concepts and words like "faith", "believe" etc. Often people will react with scorn and negativity to this, because it frightens them and shakes their mental comfort zone.

Knock, and doors will open. Ask, and answers will be given. eat peace
To be sure is to be ignorant and resistive.

          Cheers

            Peace All.
As long as we live this life, there will always be "faith" about certain things. For example how can we believe in the unseen?
How can we explain our feelings, intuition, instinct of knowing certain things that we cannot prove to others?
I tend to put faith and reason as both compatible ,as a pair . In other words some beliefs that have both faith and reason are more sound than those with just reason or just faith, in those fields that reason cannot give proof/certainty.

Faith belief built on personal experience and instincts and feelings and "our own proof" for example some people feel GOD s presence /know of GOD s presence through their body faculties/behaviour/...but cannot prove it to others)even if others feel they are deluded,unreasonable..for me is a justified belief to that individual.
            Hope that makes sense.
            GOD bless you.
            Peace.

Yes, that all makes sense. In a german forum I read about a girl, who went on holidays and had there a vision of prophet Mohammed, who spoke to her. She suddenly turned to radical islam. Her brother was desperate to get her out of that. But there is little chance, when there are mostly only people with either blind faith or people, who deny the unseen completely.

about 600 hundred years ago blind follower of bible and quran were thinking the earth was flat...

and in that era if somebody dream about the shape of earth it must be flat in his mind..

intrestingly when i look the shappe of earth in dream it appears to me round like ball .. i know the shape what we see in map and videos is not actual shape of earth..

but my mind programmed the shape.. what i m observing since i start watching tv/magzines

same like our minds from very first day programmed to forcefully believe in some doctrine...

i remember when a baby get birth in sunni family the first thing/ritual is to say "azaan" in his/her ears
the second thing is to circumcise
third thing is to do aqeeqa..

same goes with other religions and their rituals...

so when the faith challanged the inner defence system called ego activated.. same like when we watch a cricket/football match on natonal level..

so the whole concept of God in every religion is just a concept with lot of falsehood mix with little truth..

the only truth is there is a supreme force/being there who generated it all..

his attributes and qualites and punishements and nightmares are just guesswoork of human interpretators.. from time to time..

the experiment should be done in which they select different kids from different religion from their birth and trained them without telling the existence of God .. then see how many of them become traditional beleivers...

thats the only method of testing God module or connection of spirit and so on things...

same goes with fear .. its all human pysho

Remember once you said in pm that Quran followers are more at risk of losing faith because we are too involved with God? It is something we all must consider.

there's something else. im afraid one day i might lose faith entirely. im afraid i'll become an ex muslim. thing is, i dont want to be one. all the exmuslims but few ive met feel alot of resentment. i dont want to live a life of resentment. i felt happy when i discovered god and his book alone because it opened this whole new window for me. it was like a breath of fresh air into a new world. i feel like im in that new world right now, following a lamp of light that is slowly but surely guiding me. but im afraid one day that light will go dim, and dim, until it vanishes. and then once its gone, i'll be left in the darkness. the window will be gone, so i can never go back to life i had before, but it will be too dark to find a new window, or a new path. i'l just be lost in the darkness, wandering around, nowhere to go and nothing to guide me.

Even prophet Ibrahim made a wish to Allah that he wants to die as a Muslim. So I guess no one is fully covered. I am sometimes very afraid about that. So far what I have observed is that most of the non sectarian Muslims who left God experienced some sort of bad event. Once out, they head to criticizing the Book. As you have caught, they suddenly start to behave negatively and approach science in the most embarrassing way. It is as if they just graduated from some madrasa. Thinking of that scares the hell out of me. That's what I don't want to be.

Keep posting. You are not annoying anyone. It is always fun to speak about what most humans wouldn't dare to touch.

Fear I guess must come from some obsession or from a feeling of guilt. One is afraid that one deserves to be punished or to suffer, or whatever. Or that one does not deserve to be happy or to be loved or to longed for.

We must make a point of loving ourselves and of loving everything good that we find around, nd there is a lot of it, even when we feel down down down... We are not machine that get buttons pushed. We have experiences, inner or emotional or philosophical tht we have to process. I think the best way by oneself ot approach those feeling is to try as hard as possible to find out what one really feels, from where we get those feelings, what is it exactly that we feel, how, when, examine deeply ourselves, what is it really that puts us in such a state. Fear is a very good feeling because it is fear many times that keeps us from taking harming actions or to run at the right time from something bad. Fear is not wrong but we must have a valid reason for it. It may be that we are bewitched, and when I say that, I am thinking of a hyperreligious brainwashing.

Sometimes we are right in feeling fear because really there is something cooking, but in those cases the best thing that can happen to kill fear is that what is dreaded happens really, and when you are in the middle of it you are to busy handling it and fear is gone. Fear is always or almost always worse than what one fears.

So do not fear Baitachal, it is a waste of time and an overworking of imagination. Eat lightly take beautiful walks and think of some handsome ideal man. Fantasy has never killed anybody provided one understands that fantsy is fantasy and not reality. Fantasy balances the mind and, big advantage, is free, completely free and has no drawbacks. Fr reality there is always time, in fact too much time, specially if it some bearded sectarian scholar, elektro elektro elektro elektro May be another thing to be feared is that I write some more advice. O0 >D >D

                      Salaam

                        oh yeh i do remember..

we are actually too involved with the God of quran.. which is not same god of bible ,hindus and other faiths ..

real change happen when you feel and believe in it blindly..

like i blindly beleived if i dnt do cheat/dishonesty with somebody nothing wrong happen with me..(choice/outcome/destiny)
i changed this belief since i feel from last 32 years i try to do things with honesty and still get cheat

its enough time for a perosn like me to experiment things and now i cant risk rest of my life on some experiments which give me harms more than benefits...

just a single thing i asked from him , and he is making it hard for me.. i never asked anything else..
i never cry for toys in my childhood.. (i know my father is not present with me) becoz thats what i see people get toys when their father buys for them..

the muslim thinks jesus is weak God becoz he died on cross
but what i think about my God?

that like to give a pain?
or he is also not so powerful to listen just one thing i ever asked from him..

i m a person who usually never take things as charity from anybody not even my own siblings..
becoz since the day i born i beleived he is the one who provides to all

i was even happy if i didnt get anything
but the current situation is pushing me to ask questions from my real self.. i m struggling with it and in the end i feel my God is weak or unfair or he like to give things when the things are not really needed .. (time is what making me confuse)

i cant help it... strange thing is this .. the faith of my childhood is on risk...

It is kind of fun to look into what no one likes to talk about. If you go in details of astrology and find patterns they talk of in humans it becomes difficult to call it stupid. I must say it did help me a lot especially in my relationship. I usually don't care about retrogrades. They are always happening. But this saturn one seems to be very rough >(

honestly i myself know my study is theoratical and there are billions of different design in todays age , but look instead of reading lines i was trying to read the character and lot of people were telling me to start that as a profession u r pretty good in it..

I did look into palmistry. The topic was incomprehensible to me. So I gave up.

I did notice some psychics being accurate. I don't exactly think using of "jinn" to know something is a joke or something. There are many mysteries in the world. Humans are capable of doing many things.

Looks like you have the same atheism phobia I talked about earlier. rotfl

I love the creator also, but I also remember that I have to stay in my limit. I feel crossing it would make him throw me into atheism pond which eventually will take away the power I am supposed to have as a human being. Trump has made me a bit negative and that has been a bad thing for me. I guess I should forgive and move on now.

I agree there is an unusual satisfaction and comfort in having faith in the creator. His favors are hard to deny. When my mom passed away it was the thought of him which helped me stay strong everyday. All of us are temporary in this world, but he is constant and therefore, if we do what he instructs us nobody will be able to take him away from us. He is our only friend in dismay and he is rich too ;D P

You are afraid of losing faith in something that tells you about punishment. But if you lose faith in it, then you don't believe what it says anymore, so you don't believe in the punishment in the same way. But if you still fear, then you are still believing what the faith dictates, which means you have NOT lost faith in it.

I disagree with this. Fear is so complex. A lot of agnostics and atheists report fear of punishment in the afterlife after they've rejected faith. Supposedly for them, it can take a long time (months, years) to get rid of the feeling, because it's been drilled into them all their lives. Fear is much more motivating and intense than any other emotion, and that's why it leaves such a lasting impression. Humans naturally want to avoid pain and discomfort, and we'll do whatever it takes to avoid these emotions and situations, resulting in fear. So the presence of fear after proclaimed disbelief doesn't mean they still believe. Unless that's your argument.

We can also fear death. That doesn't mean we stop believing in the notion of death.

Bold Blue This means that there are still parts of you that believe, in the subconscious. So, while we logically disbelieve, our subconscious mind is still running programs that were nurtured while believing. Yes, the mind and the brain are indeed very complex, and so also fear.

Also besides having traces of imprints in the mind and brain, it is perhaps even possible that believing/disbelieving can be a gradient, even though it sounds odd and counter-intuitive. This is why I also wonder what 'believe' actually means in the context of the Quran.

The OP said she was afraid of losing faith. I guess that meant that the fear comes from what the current faith (which she is still entertaining/believing in) promises for punishment. Since she is currently believing, she thinks that she will be punished for loss-of-faith once the faith is lost. Whether she THEN, after losing faith, will believe in the punishment, and fear it, is I guess another issue, not so simple, like you pointed out.

We can also fear death. That doesn't mean we stop believing in the notion of death.

Sorry, I didn't quite understand that one.

If you didn't find the answer you were looking for, then keep looking. Don't stop somewhere where all you are doing is trying to get people's approval. Most importantly, don't be a victim. We are all taking the test, and to be a victim is to fail by default.

We are essentially alive to learn to drive, as conscious minds, to drive our thoughts and our body's capabilities to what we deem to be the right or truth.

But what tells us what is right or wrong ? Our consciousness. All the answers are there, if you look for them.
If you follow your consciousness, you cannot go wrong. And you won't fear anything. You fear being wrong because you put your trust in certain ideas that you don't fully agree with. But your consciousness tells you the truth, and you know it makes perfect sense, and you cannot compromise, and if you do so, you'll feel guilty instead.

It does not hand you the answers, but instead lets you look for them, strive for them. To think, beyond wishful thinking, beyond desires, beyond dreams of a happy life, to think like there is nothing more important than figuring out the answers. i.e to think as an independant being, whose ideals are not affected by culture, desires, and social standards.

Now, do you think someone who I described above deserves to go to hell ? Regardless of his/her "religion".
