I disagree, the quran is meant till the end of time, we are reading the quran right now, we believe right now, all the directives in the quran apply to all muslims unless stated otherwise.

We cannot inject our own personal biases into the quran.

Is there a verse in the quran that says some of the directives in the quran are meant only for the people of the time?

I read the surrounding verses, it is clear that these verses apply to all muslims.

That's the common misconception, that Quraan came for all times and all people even though the Quraan never made such a claim.

Quraan is in a particular type of Arabic and speaks to a specific people in their language dialect, directed at events taking place there.

Muhammad was an Arab messenger sent to HIS PEOPLE as was every Messenger was stated in the Quraan 144. 144 shows the Messenger and the message is catered to their QAWM, not universal.

Anyways, the point was 6010 is non-applicable today as it was directed at a specific group of people.

Well.. Sorry for delay in reply..

So according 55 when the verse was revealed Nazaras and Yehudi believing men cannot marry ummi believing women..
What is wrong in Nasara and Yehudi believing men?
If not allowed why would Nasara believing fathers should give their believing daughters to ummi believing men.. So they trust ummi believing men and ummi believing men don't trust nasara Yehudi believing men... Belief is not in ethnnicty...cetywin things alpha doesn't want to repeat just coz QURAN is numerically perfected and certain things not necessary at all to repeat..
Let me put in practical way.. Let's go back to the time of Mohamed..
A believing man's family go to Nasara believing mans family asking His daughter in marruage after this verse.. Let's hope they agreed to give their daughter.. And the nasara believing family cones to ummi believing family asking their daughter for their believing son nasara.. These ummi family rejects saying you are not allowed to marry our women..
What a shame... What is the reason...
I know many people say by this verse only men are allowed.. But they failed to grasp the reality.. When one believes in God and do righteous good deeds every believer is same... Be it Yehudi nasara ummi or whatever..
Or we have to deduce that this is a cunning verse made up only to the benefit of men of ummi... Gof us perfect and his verses are perfect... But people failed to grasp them..
      Thank you...

Are we talking about the same thing? I’m talking about ahl up kitab that do not convert to Islam.

If a non muslim is exposed to Islam and they disbelieve, doesn’t that make them disbelievers, hence kuffar. Also the quran say that people that believe in trinity kafaru.

Also this verse does not have much significance today since most nonmuslims are not chaste.

Also there is a fundamental difference between men and women. Men are naturally the leaders in marriage. A non muslim man is alot more likely to lead his wife into sin, than vice versa.

I personally don’t see why any muslim would want to marry somebody that is not muslim.

So you’re saying the quran is not applicable today????

Are you saying that 6013 is not applicable today?

There are plenty of verses that say “ya ayuhal lathina amanu” are you saying all of those verses only apply to the people of that time?

        Im sorry but that’s ridiculous.

Aamanu is past tense. When the ayah said YA it was addressing a living people when the ayah was being said from the mouth of the messenger.

YA doesn't apply to the non-existing. That already indicates YA AYYO... are time bound that were directed at a specific people that were living in that moment.

6010 is in that manner, time and specific, doesn't apply to anyone else except them in that moment.

I don't understand what you say...
What Ya doesn't apply to us.. We do exist... Don't we?

Look at verse 2153 ... Is it common or only for people of Mohamed..

Every ayah is being said through the mouth of messenger.. Even it has Ya or not. When mohamed says Ya iy doesn't mean He directly speaks.. God speaks with Ya.. God can speak to them as well us with Ya.. We do exist..

Regarding 6010 it is for that specific people.. But it doesn't mean it won't apply to others.. What would others do in such situations when women comes.. Just neglect.. That's bizzare.. I wish people use more comparison and own wits.. For example if a verse says Ya and don't raise your voice above Prophet then it is only meant for those Believers.. Not for us... So many examples like that within Quran..

There are 89 verses in the quran that use ya ayuhal lathina amanu. To say they were only for the people of the time makes no sense. Islam is not an anything goes religion

It does apply to all muslims, and I’m happy we agree on something

Don't be satisfied and be happy that we agree at last in something.. Who are we... No one.. Just ensure.. You agree with Quran and what exactly meant by God. That's important... We agree has no value... Real message of Quran is grasped OR not that's vital... I and you agree doesn't mean that it could be the truth... Truth is always agreeable if understood correctly..

Did you even read what I said? The Quraan YA applies to who it was addressing. You're not one of those people. You're not even from the Aamanu.

You're mistaken. You didn't exist when it was being said, so you were not part of the message.

2153 is also addressing them Aamanu, not the general aslamu. There's a difference between aamanu and aslamu as mentioned in 4914. A person can aslam but not aamanu.

If YA was talking to people in front of the Prophet, than YA is living people not dead or non-existing. You're providing evidence in support of YA being restrictive.

I'm talking specifically about the Quraan, not Islaam. Islaam and Muslims predate the Quraan.

It literally said Aamanu, not Muslims. You're adding your own word into the ayah.

Not every Muslim is from the Aamanu. That's what you're not understanding. There's a difference between the two. Read 49;19.

                            4919 should humble you.

Lol so you are are saying i’m not one of those who believe?

Of course not, you weren't even born.

in fact you clearly said you follow sunnah. That alone violates the Quraan. Forget about aamanu, your aslamu is questionable since you're already doing shirk.

But lets not talk about you. Stick with the Quraan and its audience who it was addressing. Those ayaat were directed at a specific people who don't exist anymore.
