Peace all. I think the definition of what constitutes a muslim is deeply flawed.(the traditional understanding.) Hence the division of people into non-muslims is also flawed. I dont think there is anybody who can say they are 100% muslim or 100% non-muslim.Labels are convenient, relative tags but as forest gumps mum says 'stupid is as stupid does'. In other words being a muslim is a verb, meaning to behave peacefully. Even a relative title of non-muslim(when a persons behaviour is not peaceful.) would not be a permanent attribute or a noun, and vice versa with a muslim. Most importantly whether someone is classed as a muslim or non-muslim(and that is sometimes subjective, and depends on knowing the persons intention.) it should definately not be used as an excuse to take away that persons human rights and dignity or be a reason for dehumanising them.(and condemning them to hell, even when they are peaceful, but not 'muslim' 'technically'.) I hear too many people downgrading people because of their theoretical beliefs and because they dont share the same 'sectarian' beliefs as others. I regard everyone; muslim, atheist, hindu etc, as my brothers and sisters. If their behaviour/beliefs are harmful or wrong i would try to help them reform or correct themselves, and definately not hate/dehumanise them. Hate is the illusion of seperation, universal love/respect is the realisation that we are all parts of the one reality.(God.) One infinite family. How can we hurt/degrade memebers of our own family?.......... How do people view this topic?
    peace all.

      peace
i agree with you completely. Don't have anything to add.
I like your understanding of reform instead of punishment. Putting people in jail, cutting their hands off, without explaining to them why their actions were wrong and helping them get rid of those actions in the future, is useless.

                  Hello

A brother in humanity is totally different to a biological brother as well it is different to a brother in faith

a borther in faith will cover biological brothers and brothers in humanity but not the other way around

there are rights for a brother in humanity, there are rights to a biological brother and there are rights to a brother in faith

                  peace

I believe you only treat the aggressors differently, otherwise peace is what we should strive for.

Problem is man's ego, that's why the sectarianism, favoritism, etc etc

If there is an Almighty Creator and if that Creator separates people based on their submission to his laws; then your and my will or wishes do not count. Period.

You wish to distinguish between those who like you and those who do not like you; or those who love you and those who hate you. Don't you? Then why do you think that your Creator cannot have as much as previlage you have?

I accept my Lord's classifications of humans regarding their basic position and actions; they are three

                                1. Monotheists, submitters who stand for truth, justice, peace, and liberty.

                                2. Polytheists, rejectors. They usually stand for falsehood, injustice, agression and human-worship.

                                3. Hypocrites, whose words and intentions or actions do not overlap.

However, I am ready to share the world in peace and justice with those people who will ultimately be judged by our Creator, the only Lord.

                                Peace,
                                Edip

peace Edip. I agree and endorse your view of sharing the world in peace and justice with all people, who will ultimately be judged by god.(reality.)
I think your statement that the lords classification results in three categories of people,.... is in fact your interpretation of the quranic verses.....,and not necessarily the lords classification.... In reality people can be more variable/complex and fall into any of the categories above at any given time and situation. Belief/unbelief are like verbs or temporary descriptions, not necessarily permanent states.(these states can also overlap, relatively speaking. Or be of minor effect.) I believe many people fluctuate between belief/idolatory/hypocrisy...Our job is to try to minimise and defuse our negative/harmful fluctuations.
                                    peace all.

                                      I AGREE,

BUDDHAHatred do not ever cease in this world by hating, but by love; this is an eternal truth... Overcome anger by love, Overcome evil by good. overcome the miser by giving, overcome the liar by truth.
