Hello I am new

Peace to all of you,
I am an inquriy. I was sent this site from a friend. I like the format. lol
Anyhow I was baptized a Catholic and made my first communion. That was the extent of my faith walk from about 9 to 24 or so. I knew there was a God I just didn't pray much, go to church etc. Anyhow when I got out of the Army I found myself one day in Church and so I came back to my faith of birth.
I married not in the church. I didn't know you had to. ops To top it my wife was previously married so my wife could not be baptized. This made her upset and me pretty ticked off.
We left the church and visited many other Christian churches. Some I left because of moral issues etc. Well how I stumbled on Islam is beyond me. D
Anyhow I have been reading the Qur'an and talking with many knowledeable people on Islam. I am just not sure yet. There seems to me and you can tell me if I am wrong. A lot of rules to follow. I hope to learn a lot from you all. Insha'allah you have a wonderful day.

Firstly, welcome.
Secondly, please dont confuse traditional Islam, with islam (compliance) based on al quran (the reading), they are worlds apart.
In the latter, people are encouraged to grow. We are not to implement every single rule in 'al quran' straight away. We only do this when we are ready. When we have attained the status of iman (trust/conviction). In the meantime, one must turn towards, seek knowledge and lead a righteous life.

569...whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, and helps people, for them shall be no fear from without, nor shall grief touch them from within.
To me, belief in Allah means belief in One. Belief in the Last Day means belief in recompense, or cause-and-effect, or karma, the consequences of our actions. While helping people helps develop the soul, to prime it for the next phase, to purify it.

To find the truth you should examine your parents belief and then seek for proof for purifucation of Quran not by heart and emotion feeling but by solid reasonable signs for our era.

I am sorry to hear about your impending divorce. ( I pray God almighty will guide you rightly and help you in these difficult times. I don't like to see marriages end in divorce. I do hope you enjoy you day though. I pray you can look past it at least a while today and be at peace.

Salaam Br Trajik,
Don't be too sad, I want this divorce because me and my husband don't fit together.we have tried everything but now we're going to put an end to it.
My husband is 10 years older than me and that can also be a reason.I have changed so much since we get married but he hasn't.
He don't respect my way of life because I don't follow sunni islam anymore and I can't live a life like that.

I follow only God Alone Quran Alone.
The hadiths sucks and make me very upset.
