To me, belief in Allah means belief in One. Belief in the Last Day means belief in recompense, or cause-and-effect, or karma, the consequences of our actions. While helping people helps develop the soul, to prime it for the next phase, to purify it.

To find the truth you should examine your parents belief and then seek for proof for purifucation of Quran not by heart and emotion feeling but by solid reasonable signs for our era.

I am sorry to hear about your impending divorce. ( I pray God almighty will guide you rightly and help you in these difficult times. I don't like to see marriages end in divorce. I do hope you enjoy you day though. I pray you can look past it at least a while today and be at peace.

Don't be too sad, I want this divorce because me and my husband don't fit together.we have tried everything but now we're going to put an end to it.
My husband is 10 years older than me and that can also be a reason.I have changed so much since we get married but he hasn't.
He don't respect my way of life because I don't follow sunni islam anymore and I can't live a life like that.

I understand. This site is for progressive Muslims? This is different how? Maybe less rigid perhaps? I am new so thats why I am asking. I was on a Sunni sight a while ago. I ask a question and get a huge amount of Hadiths, etc. These are teachings correct? Did you follow them at one time? Why the change? I know I talk too much lol

Well most of the people here don't follow the hadiths, that's the point to have an own forum for us who have an different opinion and belief in Islam.
I must say I have not been involve so much in hadiths before even if I were a sunni during about 10 years.
But I was not happy with the wrong understanding of Quranic issue.
Sunny California, yeah today it's sunny Sweden, it's summer here.
