        salam alaykum,

Those who seek other than God?..

        They have destroyed God?s Message
        Amongst the masses
They have made worship into rituals
And seek to control the masses
        With organized thinking
        And lack of love

        I sob in misery
How the beauty has been lost
        For a cost?.

        I weep at the deceit
        Of ?leaders? who lead astray
        I yearn for the day
        People shall be free

        Women mutilated
        Rights disseminated
Men ruling a dominion not their own
        Evil has grown
        Into sects
        The reject God?s true message

They seek to destroy the spirit
        Of love and independence
Free will they try to steal
And the masses follow blindly like cattle
Soon they will be slaughtered by the One who made them
If they don?t condemn these lies
        Don?t they realize?

        What they have done?
        Sobbing with anguish
I cry out for truth and justice
        Unheard by the followers
        And condemned by the ?leaders?
        I stand-alone
        Following God alone

            salam alaykum

thank you for reading my words

            i apprecaite your comments alot

i have been reading the words from the beginning of the site

            quote

"...O people of the Scripture, let us come to a common agreement between us and between you; that 1) we do not serve except God, and 2) do not set up anything at all with Him, and 3) that none of us takes each other as patrons besides God...." (Quran 364)

so i wondered what does patron really mean i assumed that i knew before but the meaning i thought of patron is one who buys something but it didnt make sense so i looked it up on www.dictionary.com so when iused each of the definitions none of them made sense and i know God's book is clear so then i found a definition that said patron is like instituition
so i thought "that none of us takes each other as "institutions" besides God so i thought well what does that really mean so i looke dup institution and found this

            in?sti?tu?tion ( P ) Pronunciation Key (nst-tshn, -ty-)
            n.
            The act of instituting.

A custom, practice, relationship, or behavioral pattern of importance in the life of a community or society the institutions of marriage and the family.
Informal. One long associated with a specified place, position, or function.

An established organization or foundation, especially one dedicated to education, public service, or culture.
The building or buildings housing such an organization.
A place for the care of persons who are destitute, disabled, or mentally ill.

so then when i read it again with these definitions it seemed that it disproved hadeeths and sunnahs of men but have I come to the wrong conclusion please post anyone and feel free to give ur dieas thoughts or reserch regarding this topic
            thank you

            your sister

              salam alaykum

fromt he previous post i wondered doesnt this make more sense not to take each other as insittutions besides God do not take the (custom, practice, relationship, or behavioral pattern of importance in the life of a community or society) besides God or ....do not take the (An established organization or foundation, especially one dedicated to education, public service, or culture.
The building or buildings housing such an organization. ) besdies God.

Doesn't this statement really looking at it mean not to follow organized religion of others or bnot to take cultural pracitces besides God?

please let me know what u all think
              thanks

                God bless Amanda,

If you are interested in prayer and the rituals that the Koran promotes go to www.progod.org

This site is dedicated towards getting these things together amongst the community that follows the Koran. You are on the right path, Amanda. I thank God for that and for Him having guided me also.

You know the only think the Koran says that you have to do when you pray is bow or kneel in some way. That is all that I have seen and there is no one uniform way to do it.

                Godbless,
                Anwar

                  Peace be upon you Amanda,

I read your story and am deeply touched by it. May The God guide us all towards the truth and righteousness and strengthen our belief and make us walk the straight path as He has done for you.

364 Say "O people of the Scripture, let us come to a common understanding between us and between you; that we do not serve except God, and do not set up anything at all with Him, and that none of us takes each other as patrons beside God." If they turn away, then Say "Bear witness that we have surrendered."

The original Arabic word in this ayat is "arbab" which is the plural of "rabb" translated as "patrons". The word "rabb" encompasses a wide variety of meanings and there is no single English word equivalent to it.

Following are the meanings of "rabb" from Quran dictionary and this word encompasses all these meanings

RABB Master; Chief; Determiner; Provider; Sustainer; Perfecter; Rewarder; Ruler; Creator; Maintainer; Reposer of properties; King of nature; Developer; Former of rules and laws of the growth; Regulariser; Foster of a thing in such a manner as to make it attain one condition after another until it reaches its goal of completion.

The word "rabb" conveys not only the idea of fostering, bringing up or nourishing but also that of regulating, completing, accomplishing, cherishing, sustaining, and bringing to maturity and evolution from the earliest state to that of the highest perfection.

The "rabb" also means the originator of things and their combiner to create new forms and it means also the law-giver who frames laws under which he propounds the shape which things must assume and the ratio and proportion in which various ingredients must combine with each other. He is the arranger of the different stages through which they have to pass on their way to perfection and completion. He sees to the necessary provisions for them in their journey. He is the Lord who puts things on the way of perfection.

So in 364 we are being told not to take each other as "rabb" beside The God. Hope that clarifies this word.

Please look at the following link which explains my understanding of salat of a believer according to The Qur'aan

                  http//www.free-minds.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=44264&highlight=#44264

Hope you find this research useful.

                  Regards,

                  Tanveer

Hello everyone my name is Amanda and i am am American girl who has always searched for God. I went to church alot as a child and lvoed it since it took me away from fighting at home and everyone there was kind and hugged me and seemed to really care and listen.

After my parents divorce at age ten I was very mixed up emotionally i neded God but my mom worked 2 jobs and could not take me to church anymore. after 2 years I lived with my dad who never really went to church except on Christmas and Easter I think becasue of my Grandma. so I begged to go to church so my aunt took me then after a year or so I got older and started questioning things and found no answers at my church so i stopped going to my home church and searched for the true church.

I explored almost every denomination and never felt satisfied. untill I found a non denominational church. I stayed untill 17 there at that church when i decided I wanted to be a minister. I started studying the bible hard and decided to give up tv secular music and anything against God. I was very active and carried my bible with me in my car always. I then was out of high school and got a summer job before college where i met a black guy who one day whore a hat that said allah in arabic on the front as soon as i saw it i felt i knew it so i asked him what it meant he said it said God in arabic.

i looked surprised and exclaimed your not arabic then he explained he was msulim he converted four years prior i was interested in his story only to figure out why he left christianity and how he could abandon Jesus our "savior" i quoted bible from my car and argued he never got angry like other christians did when we discussed so he intrigued me and gave me brochures i was trying toread them to find a way to disprove it and bring him back to Christ.

In my reading i discovered the truth i just knew it from my soul that it was true thus began my journey for truth. I had to find what this islam was ans how it turned people from Christ. was this the anti christ the bible referred to thats what my chrusch said. so i tried to call him and go to his meeting to not learn but to show them they are wrong. i argued with an imam and he never got angry but i neevr talked to that guy again. later.....

months later i met a guy... me and my friend met him and his cousin and they told us they were of hispanic descent since they were tan so we assumed they were christian untill one day we were out to eat and they reufsed to eat our pork? we wondered why then we found out they were not hispanic but arabs and muslims i never even met and arab or a muslim besides that guy ron who was waymore "religous" than these 2

i was curious i asked questions and got no answers they were not trying to show me there religion actually told me that i was chrisitan and i should stay christian and not to try to be muslim or arab like them and be myself.

this lingered in my mind why they had not tried to turn me to there side was i not good enough to be like them. ???

so i began to study about islam out of curiousity...

that year i accepted islam but never knew alot of "real muslims"

i fought with my family about arabs and islam and eventually was told to leave the home

i lived in my car and in hotels untill i found a helper at a shia mosque
i began to get my life togher and got an apartment with the mosque help but with the condition i had to wear jilbob and hijob so i did i didnt want to live in the streets again
i went to the mosque everyday almost and began to see myself as prey for old muslim guys and even was asked by the sheikh to meet a 40 year old man to possibley marry so i didmeet him just to please the imam but said no to the marriage

i did not like him i was 19 he was 40 no attraction at all

i felt the shias so sexual it was all about temporay marriage and hierarchy and money and how i could help their muslims get green cards i felt so used

also i hated the culture and the lowered status of women in the house only and the "clicks" and the beating urself up in ashura i did not understand it
and did not cry when the others cried for imam hussein i didnot feel a thing and people stared at me liek i was a traitor i didnot fit in i did not like it
i felt ripped off this was not the islam read about

so i left islam and eventually became a christian again

i was a christian again for almost 2 years

then i married a palestinian man i loved so much he was soo kind

he was not religious so he was not like "them" i thought
i thought i could change himinto christian and itired and even got an arabic bible

his family found out and we almost divorced

i was devastated so i agreed to stop the campaign

                    then i discovered sunni islam

actually selafis and they were so mean and strict and actually tried to convince me to divorce my husband since he was not praying
                    i almost did.....
but thank God showed me they were wrong

i left them and tried the "regular" sunnis they were less strict and mean but very judgemental calling shias non believers and selafis extremists i felt no unity in isalm and became confused i read islam ws universal and i feklt no universality amongst muslims themselves and the islamic politics i studied and began to hate the islamic sharia and felt it was wrong i lost alot of friends liek this
i was now alienated from theislamic community forspeakingmy mind and i was so isolated i felt so alone
i began to goonlineto islamic chat and was evenmore confused i began to hate arabs and muslims for there way which i thoughtwas islamic but later found out was really culture inspired by hadeeth. i began to hate the prophet fromthe hadeeth and began to question my faith again

i thought what a sick man muhamamd from what i read about him why should he be from god i thought after reading alot of hadeeth
then i was disgusted by the rituals that ruled our lives as a hdeeth following muslims i was confused and full of anxiety

did i use my right foot? did i say that right? jinns are in the bathroom looking at me in a sick way i was paranoid and stressed i could not keep up with the rituals i thought how can God want us to live like this full of meaningless rituals and hatred

several different mosques i attented and found many people trying to convicne me suicide bombing was halal and american was evil and conspired toget the arabs they tried to convince me jews were evil etc

                    i began to hate everyone

deep inside i felt this is not the way i God i jsut did not feel right in my soul

so again i became an apostate...

and tried to go back to christianity but iknew toomuch now and could not beleive in trinity anymore

so i became a unitarian christian who beleive in God alone but not trinity but held to jesus was saviour

then God began to show me through my life the right way

slowly i came back to islam but decided to stay away from muslims

i just thought about the hadeeth that even if this is true i will have to rely on Gods mercy that i can not follow it

then i some how came across quran alone teachings subhan allah

i read and read and i know now this is true this what i have always beleived

i thank God for finally showing me the truth i have been searching for since i was 10 years old ~ 15 years finally foubnd the truth~

my eyes fill with tears of joy

but i now have to again start islam all over again i still find myself doing or saying meaningless ritualsitic things and it is hard to break thiose habits

slowly i am and i am starting to finally feel free

i never knew how great it feels to be trutly guided

it is amazing so many billions of muslsim and many converts on the wrong path
                    woow
how did i ever deserve the truth when so many others are astray
God must have saw somehting in me i neevr saw inmyself

i feel very lucky that i found the truth and am here to tell yuo about it

even when i debate other msulims they seem to talk in circles and am not fooled by there lies

                    i now understand alot moe
i have now become to really open my eyes to things that were right in front of me before but i never really saw

its like i was blind and now i can see the truth for the first time ever

reminds me of my christian days

amazing grace how sweet the sound i was once lost but now i am found
was once blind but now i see

thank you God for lifting the veil for me and showing me the way

i thank you fromt he bottom of my heart and the depth of my being

                    ilove you God
plese show everyone else the truth inshallah

Thank you for your time and reading my story

                    "Allah guides whom he chooses"
                    Thank you for choosing me...
Quran alone is the only way...
The truth shall set you free

                    Humbly yours,
                    Amanda

                    Assalam Alaikum,

That is why Allah says in the Qur'an

4724 Will they then not ponder over the Qur'an, or are there locks on the hearts?

There is no guidance when there is no relationship with Qur'an. Furthermore, there is no understanding of Qur'an when the Sunnah is rejected. The weakness of Muslims come from not understanding the primary texts but taking them from only face-value. I have to stress the importance of studying the Qur'an and Sunnah in its proper context otherwise people will outright reject it.

                    Samir

Nobody believes in the so called Sunnah which you are refering too on this forum. You better join the Ahl Sunnah Wa Al Jammah forum where they have Pirs who are providing spritual guidance online.

Nobody believes in the so called Sunnah which you are refering too on this forum. You better join the Ahl Sunnah Wa Al Jammah forum where they have Pirs who are providing spritual guidance online.

How do Pirs do that, man ? They send some cyber-baraka through the net or something?

Pirs really don't need the broad band conncection. They have some special kind of powers to reach their followers. lol

I believe in the Sunnah of Muhammad and all the rest of God's messengers, God bless them all. I just don' believe that the hadeeth is a good place to find it, and the Koran is the optimal place to find it.

And as it concerns rabb. 'Illa' in old Classical Arabic can mean 'despite' also. In Hebrew the word 'rabb' has a similar meaning and that is where 'rabbi' comes from. But it is taken in the sense of a teacher which is also a valid meaning of the Arabic word. So I interpret that as we should not take each other as lords, teachers, sustainers, cherishers etc., despite God, because he is the ultimate teacher, lord, sustainer, cherisher, etc.

The word has the same sense of 'master' in the old Kung Fu movies, if you've ever watched one of those.

                                    Godbless,
                                    Anwar
