    Salaamun alaikum,

    so happy you chimed in

so happy you started this thread

are we sure it's sectionalisation or sensationalism of a certain entity?

well, if you're a sect, there must be something outside the sect. That's the whole point of word, man.

but in the Quran this entity does exist.. in a form of community.. but this community is based on the individual.. and stems from an individual level...

Would you mind pointing them out to me ? The 'muslims' in the world as pointed by the Quran.

although this may be true... what else do we have beside God, ourselves, and everyone else?

Our sincerety (i.e. going in this with a 'qalbin saleem/sound heart'). This is what counts.

aka.. everyone has freakin baggage .. but you got to be the baggage handler not only for ourselves but also for others... in order to live within this society... again the process of being an individual is to desolve the individual while never loosing touch with the entity in line.. God

You need to lose certain aspects individuality, namely the selfish soul only to gain the peaceful soul.

in the Quran Allah says the earth is spacious.. .and that this move might be necessary in order to live in the correct Path of Submission to God... but that today is just about a over with.. do you disagree?

    I dont understand? Mind rephrasing?

my lil apartment complex might have reason as to why i need to move.. but the next one over is heaven.. or hell? or where do you want us to move to with you mquran?

Movement doesn't have to be geographical but transpositional i.e. we can move from a criminal society to a peaceful society.

searching for truth brought me here. First, my individual studdies got me qurious to search online for resources. than landed on submission, Rashad Khalifa showed me a new perspective of Islam, that traveled to 19.org, moslem.org but didnt stay their long. Lastly found free-minds and now I am here. But I been here from the begining of this forum..). Now this is like a home for me..

      peace

        Mehdi criminal like what?

An Islamic movement aims to transform a crime-infested society into an Islamic one. A society which enshrines the value of justice and the protection of the weak.

We need to understand 'salaam' in detail to get a good picture of this.

Is there any occurence in the scripture where it adresses <al-muslimine> specifically, like in <ya ayyouha allathina Amanou> for <al-mouminine>.

I can not think of any such a verse for now, but this would tell if such a 'group' (al-mouslimine) has to be a group in the first place .

            Salaam Someone,

There is no 'yaa ayyuhal muslimeen' in al-quraan.

I dont understand your logic though? Why does the address need to exist in order for there to be a group?

              Peace mquran,

I just got that question in mind while reading your post, and I was 'surprised' that I couldn't find any verse addressing "al-muslimine". Isn't it intriguing somehow?

Could it be that al-muslimeen are not the direct audience/upholders of al-quran? Those who are upholding al-quran are al-mumineen.

Well, in my case, i'd built up such a preconception about 'al-muslimeen' so yes, I found it most curious. However, upon checking with al-quraan, I saw that 'al-muslimeen' was the generic term of one who took up Ibrahim's millat. The Islamic movement is represented by 'bani israil'.

Wakas Could it be that al-muslimeen are not the direct audience/upholders of al-quran? Those who are upholding al-quran are al-mumineen.

I havent seen a connecting word at all for al-mumineen and al-quraan. If you have, I'd love to see it. The thing is, the 'articles of belief' include 'al-kitaab' and not 'al-quraan'.

                      peace mq,

There is a definite link between al-mumineen and al-quran.

                      The following articles are decent
                      http//www.free-minds.org/articles/gods_system/thetrust.htm
                      http//www.free-minds.org/articles/gods_system/mumin.htm

Not to mention the regular/timed slw is always addressed to al-mumineen.

What do you suppose as-salaat has to do with al-quraan?

                          peace mq,

the book of reference for al-mumineen is al-quran.

If you cannot find some examples, here are some 1698, 179, 1782

Also, please see the following, for the relationshp between slw and al-quran
                          http//mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/think-786/slw.htm

It all comes together, when one ponders on al-HJJ for example. Establishing/upholding the regular bond/slw/reading seems an excellent way to form an army of people who will know al-quran and thus be able to participate in al-HJJ.

Sorry, im actually looking for the word almumineen. I cant assume its referring to them unless it says so. Thanks anyway.

Ahh, I forgot about your "al" thing wink (which I quite like btw, and am studying)

Even though 179 contained al-mumineen, here are some more 297, 2285.

                              Will that suffice?

If not, I should mention all the occurrences of the root Alif-Miim-Nun and Qaf-Ra-Alif are in PRL for all to check.

I saw it contained the word, yes but what Im looking for is the exclusivity of al-quraan with al-mumineen. I.e. al-mumineen must believe in al-quraan to be so.

Well, I have not gone through all the references. The ones I came across were basically tying al-quran for/to al-mumineen etc. I'm sure there will be stronger implications out there, but like I said I have not gone through all of them. They are there for all to research if they wish.

I am here because I am interested in open, forward thinking dialogue with other "progressive" minded muslims. I'm finding it difficult to find an online community that is moderate...it seems many are either extremely zealous and filled with bidah and fitnah...and others are so secular that they do not truly seem to understand the lifestyle and ultimate goals of true muslims. I'm hoping to find others with whom I share a similar perspective and to learn from those who hold different points of views. Ultimately everything is a quest for strengthened iman, thus I'm hoping that finding a comfortable place online among fellow ummah will help to strengthen my iman, insha'Allah.

It's nice to "meet" all of you...

                                      Salam,

I came here so i could talk to others who follow God alone, Quran Alone, and be able to share this concept, withour ridicule and a long speach on how i need the Hadith and etc... roll

At first I used to go on Submission.org.....but the whole 19 thing and taking verse out of the Quran thing didn't really appeal to me much at all ? ....so I searched around for a site that still had the God alone,Quran alone belief, but with out the code 19 stuff....and now I'm here! D
