Thanks for the link to your very insightful article on an intelligent approach to the study of Quran, and for the link to the study al-quran site.
I agree - Sectarianism, blind obedience to traditions, unwillingness to seek knowledge and idolatry are definitely what we should avoid.
I guess the main problem with idolatry is being conscious of what it actually involves - excessive love for all else other than God, nationalism, maybe even any preoccupation that takes one's attention away from God? The list goes on and on...
Anyway, thanks again for the links. I definitely look forward to spending more time on your quran study tool. It's good having such a variety of translations to go through.

Hello everyone,
I was born in a Muslim country where most people are taught a form of Islam that's completely at odds with rationalism and the intellect.Yep, keep the people ignorant then its easier to control the masses this way -)
It is good to know that many people like yourself are begining to THINK FOR THEMSELVES instead of relying on ignorant mullahs with long robes and goatee beards -)

Explain what my husband has got to do with me being boring.
See how quickly you assumed that because i said housewife it must have something to do with me being supressed by my husband.
what i meant by housewife was i get very tired taking care of my home and family. My husband goes to work at 3pm and comes home 5am( very long work hours). he gets too tired to help during the day so naturally i take care of all the housework, paperwork, gardening, DIY,kids and cats.
The one day he gets off work he helps all he can. Unlike some guys, he still gets the time to tell me loves me and sends me text messages, flowers and takes me out.What about you 2Pac-Notts? Could you be this much MAN?

Just to answer your question; if I find someone on my level then being "one" is a natural step or progression and you would treat your other half as you would treat yourself in everyway )
