If others are idiot and not accepting the message, what does it make you who acts like an idiot after accepting the message
It is ''Not necessarily agreeing with all of their interpretation of the message'.
No body has a right to judge anyone's views and beliefs. We are here to discuss peacefully. And in a discussion, there are bound to be difference in opinions. And if one cant maintain respect for fellow beings and their difference in opinions, What is the point of discussing? Is this the message of Quran ?

Exactly. No one should judge other becoz they dont agree with that person. I have been on this forum long enough to know the level of tolerance members have is amazing. Even after heated debates and arguments, each party says peace and thats that. It does not matter how right i think i am or how wrong i think the other person is. No one should be called kafir or munafiqeen or shaitan JUST becoz there is a disagreement. That is beyond stupidity. I beleive we evolved. idmkhizar thinks otherwise. But at the end of the day, we say peace and leave it at that.

Brother you are too kind. To be honest, i used to do the same thing as mquran when i was a sunni. If others did not agree with me, then they are kafir and munafeqeen. Sad thing is, i was proud of this behaviour and i never really saw how wrong i was. Now that God has guided me to the right path, i can see clearly why that kind of behaviour is wrong. No doubt i have had a disagreement with every one i have ever held a discussion with. Even you stillearning. But becoz we are on the right path. Becoz God has guided us here. Becoz we can see through the wrong actions we commited before being guided, we have no reason to resort to calling each other kafirs and shaytan simple becoz we disagree. Its mind boggling. shock

Brother you are so right. There is no one that i have not had disagreements with even my parents, wife(especially), children etc but that does not mean i dont respect them or love them any less. If any thing it helps me to become a better muslim especially if I am shown the error of my ways(believe me there have been plenty of those and will probably be many more to come).
Here is to many agreements and disagreements to come and let it not change our goodwill towards each other.Salaam and Allah Bless you

It hurts inside knowing that my brother is banned even though it is temporary. i understand that his approach to some members was a bit abrupt but can't he apologise to those members and come back. -

I simply posted under another spelling of my former user name---Dhulqarnain/Dhulqarnane. I was banned not for breaking the forum rules, but out of resentment and political difference.
and maybe i really aught to post this on your other thread you started.. for the LOVE OF GOD... PEOPLE PLEASE USE REAL NAMES! .. cause when people use names like 'truth' it really sucks to try and read drama.. you know? .. cause it's like.. truth says this.. and then like.. that truth sure sucks! .. and i'm like sitting here.. going.. what??? truth sucks? why does the truth suck? .. and then.. he's like.. no not truth.. but you know... Please provide the links and sections that were in breach and action will be taken if it is verified...Neither I nor the other mods sift through the threads of this forum looking for a reason to ban someone, but if a complaint is registered, then it will be investigated and action taken if warranted.
I would post the etiquete rules from the Scripture to remind people how God expects us to behave, but since it fell on deaf ears the first couple of times, I see nothing that has changed.

Your heart cries becoz mquran was called a barking dog? And where your broken heart when other members were being called kafir, shaytan and other rubbish which YOU also have taken part in.
First of all, the whole barking dog thing was an example, give by truth i think, on another thread telling someone that barking dogs only annoy you as long as let them. I was simply giving the same example to other members.
Second of all, you say you accept the message and yet you have no problem someone calling your sister and brother in islam kafir and shaytan along with other degratory words. You have also said the same things mquran has. Where was your brokin heart when mquran was calling your sister and brother in islam kafir and shaytan. Even sunnis dont allow that. Even sunnis stand up and get in ur face if you call a sister in islam a degratory name. But i didnt see any tears from you then. I also didnt see any tears from you when YOU were calling the same members the same degratory names that mquran used. And your heart cries becoz mquran is being called a dog? serious

I think everyone should start their own forum if they are not happy with the rules. The rules here are fair and mostly lax, it's only when they cross a certain limit consistently that they are enforced. I find Layth and the mods to be fair...sometimes, one's subjective view of things is different from the objective wink

i agree that the rules of this forum are lax.. it's nice.. keeps the flow going...
please know.. i think it's a great idea for folks to learn how to start their own forums and aught to start their own forums in hopes to get whatever it is out of them..
but in light of Unity.. i disagree with this notion.. in order for Unity to come about we must have tollorance and love... rules help a little.. but mostly tollorance.. even more Love...But Mehdi, Its important that every one behaves in a civilized, respectful manner towards each other in order to have a constructive discussion and exchange of ideas. There is no point in going on and on with abuses and insults, when opinions differ. Unless such stuff stops, there cant be any healthy discussion.
Ofcourse we need tolerance and love for each other and for our differences, but we also need respect towards each other and humility. Whats mutual love without mutual respect?
We need rules and regulations to exsist in peace and participate, in any part of the society/community as well, dont we?the notions of "love or leave it"... are stupid.. and do not work! .. when are we as human beings going to learn there is NO WHERE TO RUN!

as an example.. have any of you ever had a person who you disliked for one reason or another.. and then had this person leave you in life for some reason or another.. whether you left town or they left your school, or you quit your job or they got fired.. etc. etc..
until you make peace with yourself and this person... this person will keep popping up in your life... with one face or another? perhaps it's not the person who you dislike but that portion of the person inside of you.. which brings up such conflicting sentiments... ?

at one point we are going to have to deal... you know?Again Mehdi, There is no personal grudge on anyone. No body is being punished or warned for personal enemity or personal grudges. Only when their actions are at fault, they get warned or punished for their 'actions'.
So, its not about disliking a person at all.this is why banning doesn't work.. if there is a pain in your own body do you ban it.. do you hide it.. or do you find the means to cure it?
I didnt get the similarity that u r pointing at.

Thats all very good, and in the big general picture I would agree with you, but I would like to know if you have a limits of tolerance to keep the general peace?!? For example, let's put you in a situation where there is a forum and there are certain rules of conduct...people complain to you constantly regarding one particular character who does not abide by the rules and makes life hell on the forum, what will you do? (This is not to say that you might make a forum with no rules and general anarchy would be king but for the sake of discussion)...I just want to know your point of view regarding what should be done and what it's strengths and weaknesses are as opposed to the methods being currently utilised. Not general big picture stuff but how you would deal with this particular situation (two members as of yet banned within your knowledge).

If a person creates a forum he might envision it to work a certain way, thus he makes rules for the eventual users to pay heed to, as well as by themselves try to be mature and self realising...if this doesn't work out and there are some he deems to be the source of certain unrest after looking at the evidence, he bans him...so I don't understand, is your point that the forum should try to correct their behaviour in the ways you might envision and give these dudes some kind of psychological help and support?!?

Um, not really...Whenever I've disliked someone I have realised the reasons why, and dealt with them, so I'm at peace ( I make that a priority most times to work it out to the exclusion of other stuff)...but what does this have to do with the admin banning someone because of evidence that they are troublemakers and causing unrest?
this is why banning doesn't work.. if there is a pain in your own body do you ban it.. do you hide it.. or do you find the means to cure it?

See I wasn't sure, so thats why I thought I would ask...should a forum and it's admin be responsible for curing a members personal problems and/or mindset?? I don't think thats within the scope of this forum and it's admin, maybe some members would like to take this on within the rules?
I might have completely missed the point of your post because like Elena said, there are some people I have a really hard time understanding, so I'm sorry if thats the case, please let me know where I erred. Thanks!
