      Salam alaikum,

So sad that the jinn will even possess a hijabi! What is actually going on here? The jinn has said the shahadah through this woman's body? And then... ?

        Salaams,

I have approached so many people to show me, prove to me jinn?s no body ever could here are two unusual examples of other people though.

I was sitting with a cabby and we started talking about jinn?s, there were another couple of people with us. The cabby starts telling about the day he was involved with the jinn man (peer)
One day he was young came from school and wasn?t feeling well and was a little mischievous which concerned his mum who took him to the peer and told the peer his been overtaken by the jinn.
So the peer takes the lad into the other room and stands him in front and says ?so you have overtaken this lad have you?? the boy didn?t know what the man was on about ,the peer again says? Well are you going to leave him or not? and Slaps the boy ,the boy somewhat frightened and dazzed, the peer again repeats ?are you going to leave him or not? and give the boy another SLAP,THE BOY FRIGHENED WITH TEARS ROLLING DOWN HIS CHEEKS QUICKLY SAYS ?YES I AM LEAVING,I AM LEAVING?.

And the man takes the boy back to his mum; the boy makes his mum promise him never to do that again, which she does.

My brother in law when he was young one day came home late and new his dad was going to be cross with him ?on entering the house starts to behave in an unusual way so his dad might think he isn?t well or something but his dad was a peer and ties him up and beats the hell out of him because apparently the dad assumed the boy had been overtaken by the jinn. And the lad never did that again and now he is grown and married but tells this to his close friends.

A person can go on and on with such stories , and as I said I have my own experiences ,all this jinn business is sick peoples way of explaining things rather then analysing scientifically the causes.

I hope you don?t believe in this nonsense.

Nowadays we like to call it mental disorders or illnesses.

Ok, what's the objective proof that 'mental illnesses' are the really the cause of such extraordinary behaviour?

If you are talking of the video I'm not sure. I'm speaking of what the Catholics used to diagnos as possession back in the day, etc. Sometimes the wild antics during the witch trials were mental breakdowns because of torture, etc. People who are mentally ill are capable are extravagant things. The normal human is even. There was a man who was pierced in his brain by a pole. The pole shot out from the ground and went clean through the back of his eye and frontal lobe about straight out of his head. He got up and walked to the doctor. He was blind in that eye but his behavior also changed afterwards. An amazing tale of a man named Phineas Gage.

Ok, but that's the objective proof (to the observer) that such an event happened. The cause of the event is unknown , empirically speaking.

Al-jinn , to me, are entities different from an-naas (114/5). I'm not 'too modern' to disdain acknowledging that because my eyes are limited. They can't see electricity either, but cause and effect tell me it's there.

                        Salam alaikum,

Can anyone tell what she is saying in the video, besides the obvious? Is there anything really extraordinary about it?

mquran, I understand your point about "not really knowing" if one is possessed or mentally ill. But we know that illnesses can be controlled or eliminated by medication or therapy, does that mean (if it was a jinn) that the jinn is removed by medicine?

Do only religious people admit that their "fits" are possession? Are the others are just psych-patients?

i'm sorry but I don't know the nature of jinn. Im just not ready to dismiss something because of my location in the chronological scale of humanity. Nothing is 'too medieval' for me.

Psychiatry isn't an objective science. If it were, there wouldn't be many divergent schools. Freud himself faced opponents from his intellectual rivals Jung and Adler.

I am not saying that you should dismiss it, I was only asking.

Does Quran allow for the idea of possession by jinn (or anything)?

I know you're not but this is the reason I'm raising this inquiry. I feel that 'modernity' has somehow turned into a consuming illusion. Strangely, if we believe history, Hegel and Marx thought the same of their own epochs, that they were somehow better off that those before. We know how both turned out.

Its an accusation disbelievers make against the messengers sometimes. Strangely, its not repudiated by saying jinns are simply 'maradh' or a disease.

I would not call Freud's system a science, but Frued was a trained scientist. It lacked emphirical verification and had limited predictive models. There were conclusions presented without explanations of how he arrived there. Jung and Freud viewed personality differently. Psychology does have a firm footing in the sciences.

for pple who think there r no jinns pls let read my story below

my aunt was possessed by a jinn ,we all thought she is sick and badly needs a doctor ,anyway so dis is how the incident goes, one of my aunts frend goes to visit my aunt on the way she meets of her other frend and startes talking to her ,and when finally she reaches my aunts place , my aunt starts scolding her she tells" u think i am ur servent dat i keep waitinf for u here n u start chatting wid other pple on ur way "
now the question is how did my aunt know dat her frend was talkin to someone on the way ?how? my aunt was all the time at home

here is another incident my sister was stayin in india for her studies n evrynite in her room she would here banging sounds as if there is some work goin in the above apartment ,she couldnt sleep well the whole nite n next morning she yells at the watchman dat sometime u choose to do work on the apartment above mine , the watchman becomes shocked he tells my sister u think i am crazy to do work at nite on the apartment?
the samthing went on for very long ,it used to be evrynite, dat ma sister got used to it , n sometimes durin her exams when she would study over nite she would yelldat " pls stop makin noises i have to study for ma exams" n surprisingly the noises would stop now dats some understanding jinn i guess D

i have heard many such stories from almost all the members of my family and
u may also have heard many such stories but its up to u to believe in them

as far as the clip above is concerned i dont know anything abt tht clip i just found the link at other forum so i thought of posting it here

ofcourse fanatic pple do act crazy at times dat doesnt mean u pple think dat no person can eva get possessed by jinn

i am not so sure if Allah tells in quran abt jinns possessing humans
but i think in surat al naaz and surat al falaz we are prayinG to Allah to keep us away from jinns i am not so sure i am just assuming becoz in surat al falaq we r praying to Allah to keep us away from all
From the evil of what He has created,

                                    From the mischief of those who practise secret arts;
And from the mischief of the envious one as he practises envy.

Freud is now being accused for transposing his assumptions from the Talmud. If you want, i'll quote you the book, it's in my library somewhere. I actually saw paralell quotes.

and read my conversation with bro Saladin and tell me what you think.
"Sagt" means "says" in German. I was using the German msn thats why. Please note from the above conversation that ive actually seen two jinn like creatures ALONG WITH MY MOTHER. She too saw them and they FIT EXACTLY THE DESCRIPTION WE FIND FROM DIFFERENT PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD i.e. COMPLETELY WHITE AND SHINING WITH HUMAN LIKE SHAPE. Hoever i saw neither eyes nor mouth on their faces and they did not emit any smoke. Thus they were similar to the Quranic description of smokeless fire which can glow white or yellow or any other color depending on the substance. We know that from chemistry for sure. So taking all these points together can this be coincidence? Were we both dreaming? Did we see a projection(Hamelin at that time wasnt much developed and projection technology of this kind was uncommon in 1988 in such a small city/town)? Thus i conclude that they were real and the Quran supports it. GOD Bless!
