A quick excercise in logic

Salaams Sal,
Bro where are you living on earth?
you said "where does it say that the method is 100 percent same"
It doesn't say anywhere but you can see with your eyes the steps of both the idol worship and salaat are identical???The worshipping of an idol in any temple and Salaat are identical!
you said "" where does it say that using the same method is forbidden ?"
it does in the holy scriptures - all of them ,Allah repeats over and over don't do idol worshipping - i think.
But we are wasting our time as what is idolatory to me may be holy devine to some one else, so lets leave it at that .
Salaams and best wishes.

salam.
yes , it is idol worship that is forbidden . worshipping God isnt forbidden . -
Salaams Br,
But the point is trad salaat is idol worshipping and you say it isn't -how can you tell the difference when/if you look at an idol worshipper worshipping an invisisble idol and or one worshipping God Almighty?
Thanks.

Salaams Br,

salam br .
before your last post , your point was that the traditional salaat method that includes bowing ,prostrating ,thanking and begging is the method of idolators and the method is forbidden . my point is that if the salat is established using the same method for the remembrance of Allah , how can it be idolatory ?-how can you tell the difference when/if you look at an idol worshipper worshipping an invisisble idol and or one worshipping God Almighty?
u can check if their salat is in accordance with the Quran . they are supposed to keep a moderate voice during salat , you can hear what they are reciting and who they are remembering .
thnx.
-
Salaams sal,
If someone does the following then according to you they are wirshipping Allah is this so Br?
bowing ,prostrating ,thanking and begging , and keep a moderate voice , hear what they are reciting and who they are remembering .
But my point was this is what the idolators do aswell Br. they just chasnge the name from Allah to something other or havn't you noticed?
God Bless.

salam.
that is just what is needed . change the name from something other to Allah . so u r no longer commiting idolatory . -
Salaams sal ,
Br it's not about names ,its about our actions our Amall and so forth, this is the reason why we have made the word an idol , while he isn't an idol .
We should act according to Allah not see him as an idol , for we can't imagine what he is.
God Bless.

what word ?
We should act according to Allah not see him as an idol , for we can't imagine what he is.
i dont see how we are making God an idol ?! idols are those associated with him .
-
Salaams Br,
you said "that is just what is needed . change the name from something other to Allah . so u r no longer commiting idolatory ."
This is what i am saying to you that is idolatory simple change of name - but however that isn't anything at all but idolatory still.
Br changing the name of a car won't bring about any change in the physicality of the car and neither the service it is providing.
But putting a few rockets on its back will produce a tremendous change.
Sorry Br a name change isn't anything as we can't fool God Almighty he can see all our actions - criminal or holy.
Thanks you made my day.

Salaams sal,
what on earth is worship and which ayah/s of the quran are depicting such a thing/s.
Gods blessings.

Salaams sal,

salam.
u were using the word worship so u should know br.worship includes reverence, adoration, devotion, praise, prayer, glorification, exaltation which we are commanded to do for Allah in the Quran . salat however does not mean worship but it includes worship .
-
Salaams Br,
i hope your worship is giving you the benefits you deserve.
you saidwhich we are commanded to do for Allah in the Quran .Where?
you saidsalat however does not mean worship but it includes worship ,show me in the quran please if you have the time.
Gods Blessings.
-
salam br.
you saidwhich we are commanded to do for Allah in the Quran .Where?
take the first ayah for example "al hamd ulillahi rabb il aalameen"
you saidsalat however does not mean worship but it includes worship ,show me in the quran please if you have the time.
salat is established for Allah's remembrance/zikr . we do we recite during salat ? Quran the zikr, and when bowing and prostrating we say "subhaana rabbi/be glorified my lord" . doesnt it even remotely look like "worship" ?
-
Salaams all,sal,
You said ?salat is established for Allah's remembrance/zikr? if salaat is indeed for remembereing Allah then me you are just wasting our time ,as me/you can remember Allah where ever we are and when and if we choose to ? whether your on everest or under the ocean or on the moon for that matter.?
Hence Salaat isn?t for remembering you could try seeing what on earth zikr means apart from remembering.
Admonition???
You again said "al hamd ulillahi rabb il aalameen" = The praise/ commendations/compliments (are) for Allah the cherisher and sustainer of the world.
And this to me is showing that we ought to respect and think highly of Allah-that is all. Its not commending us to worship anyone like the cristos /jews or any other faith , but if we want to that?s up to us ?and its not a command as such ? if it is show us where.
Islam ?to me? isn?t something to parrot away its practical and provides benefits to /for its adherents.
Lastly; if at any stage of our discussions you find my post offensive please just say so and we can call it a day.
Thanks.

the verse commands to established the salat for God's remembrance , it doesnt say that every remembrance is the salat .

i did not say that we are commanded to "worship" . i said the salat can include worship . cuz when we say "al hamdu lillahi rabbil aalameen" ,saying this is indeed worship . and when we recite it in the salat , then salat includes worship .
Islam ?to me? isn?t something to parrot away its practical and provides benefits to /for its adherents.
"to me" too .

no , no , no , not offensive at all . but we can call it a day anyway
thanks.

Salaams sal,
you said
"the verse commands to established the salat for God's remembrance , it doesnt say that every remembrance is the salat . "
So every salat is for remembering? When you could remember him hundreds of times a day though?
"established the salat for God's remembrance"
so why the salat?
Salaams.

we can remember him hundred of times a day , but we should establish the salat ,a special salat at specefic timings .
"established the salat for God's remembrance"
so why the salat?
what do u mean "why"?
salam.
-
Salaams sal,
its like eating a sweeti, you can have one anywhere anytime -just like you can remember Allah anywhere anytime.
Salaat is nothing about remembering its about admonishing/problem solving/finding the right way/the best way through discussions e.t.c
will you ever learn or investigate it rather then being a simple follower of manmade stuff?
God Bless.

I've been looking at this thread, and it seems the participants are forgetting something. Because of this incessant dispute as to the exact definition of salat, perhaps we should be guided by the Koran, more precisely 37. When a verse is not clear, we are not to try to force our personal interpretation to it. We should try to look elsewhere in the Koran to give us clues to what God means... I am sure a logical mind that is not clouded by sectarian doctrine will be able to find it. So there is a challenge for all of you to follow, and I think if you follow God's instructions faithfully, you will all come to near the same conclusion. If not, then accept that everyone has the right to interpret the Koran for himself, but not the right to impose that interpretation on anyone. In the end none of us is the judge.
