    peace

what i was trying to say about experiencing stuff to truly know is that if there was no quran, and we had no knowledge of these things. That's what we had to do. But the quran makes it easy for us by giving us guidance. There's a hard way to learn everything, but people don't have to do that because of the quran. There are certain things, like murder, stealing, hurting people (mentally or physically) that are part of every culture. Its like a universal moral system that most people follow. Just by instinct. So people don't have to read and follow the quran itself and follow everyone of its rules to succeed. Even if people don't follow them, they somehow end up on the straight path if they want to live a good life.

    I agree

but 2-pac, you maybe right. Im not here to argue, but to learn.

I'm here to learn too....i'll be the first to admit any mistakes as no human can ALWAYS be right!!

But what do you think is the explanation of "there is no compulsion?"
    If we have no choice.

We do have choice brother thats what "no compulsion" means.

If we are compelled to follow islam or go to hell, how is there no compulsion?

    If you take the word Islam as a peaceful way of life and realise its the only way of life for mankind and jinns(hidden) then it will make more sense to you. Also The God is NOT the one who puts us in Hell its ourselves that does this;

Miserable is the example of the people who denied Our revelations, and it was their souls that they had wronged.

And those whose weight is light on the scales, those are the ones who lost their souls, in Hell they will abide.

    PEACE

        Peace All,
Okay so this is how I understand Khamr/Khamir...
Its a liquid drink made by fermentaion and can be made from grapes/dates(fruit of the vine),what we call Wine..
It can cloud ones mind if its abused, thats why we are told not to enter salat while drunk/intoxicated..we are also told that it has some benefits(as doctors have proven-See Allah knew first),but Shaitan can use it to cloud our judgement and it could affect our jobs,we should stay away from it..
The Khmar of Paradise we will be able to enjoy without the affects of the earthly varity...
1)Its not a sin to drink and has some benefits,or God would say its a sin..
        2) Its harmfulness outways its good,so therefore we should avoid it in large quanities...
So its okay to drink at meals etc in small doses..

i dont think its ok, i dont think its ok to say its ok (sorry no offense intended)

Allah swt said stay away from it. so thats what we should do, its not so hard to avoid theres many drinks, and even wines that arent alchololic.

                  Peace,

Doesn't the Most High remind us in the Scripture to not worry too much about what we consume but to be concerned more with good deeds as opposed to bad deeds.

                  Amin

                    Peace AhmedBahgat,
No myr didnt mention sakaran, its mentioned in the link I gave,sorry..
How does SAKARAN mean to get drunk when,
                    1667 has

And from the fruit of the date-palm and the vine, ye get out wholesome drink and food behold, in this also is a sign for those who are wise.

The word translated wholesome drink and strong drink in some translations of the above Surah is not from the Arabic Khamri/Khamr,but from the word Sakaran, which can be translated as wholesome or healthy and refer to fruit juices that havent been fermented into intoxicating beverages.

So How can it mean to get drunk,if it means wholesome drink,it doesnt make since..And from the fruit of the date-palm and the vine, ye get DRUNK and food behold, in this also is a sign for those who are wise.

Isnt sukara and sakaran 2 different words?

                    Sakaran
                    1667
Wamin thamarati alnnakheeli waal-aAAnabi tattakhithoona minhu sakaran warizqan hasanan inna fee thalika laayatan liqawmin yaAAqiloona

All the other surahs use Khamr or Khamir which do mean intoxicating drinks and we are to avoid such, but 1667 isnt referring to Khamir/Khamr..
I believe 1667 to be referring to the fruit that we get from the date palm and vines and to the juice(i.e. grape juice, tomato juice, etc) that we get also, not to intoxicating drinks.

                      Peace bro

Please be aware that Sakara can also means sugarly like sweet, in fact sugar in arabic means Sukkar

so you do have a point regarding 1667 that it is refering to the juice, thanks for that bro

but also Sakara means "dizzy", "lost mind" "drunk" and all these sort of mental status and is commonly used in arabic too, in fact there is a verse in the Quran that described the tough moment of death as Sakarat Al Mout, which means the mental status during death is going to be like a dream I guess, but sure it is very true

I will try to look for all the verses that Sakara apeared as we may have another clue

                      peace bro
