    Peace Everyone

I haven't visited the website as often as I used to, but I thought this post would be a cool one to begin my journey back to free-minds -)

I too use divination systems (the I Ching and I'm learning the Metu Neter) in order to gain a broader perspective of a particular choice or situation. From my knowledge of the qur'an, we are completely responsible for every choice we make in this life and in the hereafter. I use divination systems to gain a perspective-unbiased by my own "vain desires"-with the hopes of making better choices and beneficial plans (career, health, relationships, etc). I do agree that one's intuition is an excellent divinatory tool to tap into. I also testify that external divination tools such as the I Ching and Metu Neter help me recognize that little voice inside since, often times, the root intuition reflects what the I Ching says anyway. Sure, modern psychology would say that this particular phenomena is called "self fulfilling prophecy"...you know...you see what you wanna see. But then again, that's the whole point since the God is closer to us than our jugular vein. Or rather, in my heart, The God's intelligence experiences through our own consciousness as well as in the world.

I'm pretty much slow to knock anything until I try it. I must say that divination, in and of itself, has most definitely help me realize and tap into the omniscience of the creator that lies within and understand the dynamic world that lies without.

    Peace.

      Peace brother Kyle,

This is my question to you, what is the PURPOSE of us being told about someone using divination as if it is normal? All verses contain guidance, what is the guidance you recieve from this verse?

Even if the argument is about 345, 344 describes what they did to settle the argument. 344 mentions a historical fact about certain people using divination to settle the dispute and sets up the background for 590 which tells us to avoid doing that.

Also, what is your position on the verse where the GOD sates "It is not you who threw but WE threw"? Is that still the "devil"?

I could not find the verse; can you please quote which verse it is ?

Unfortunately I cannot get the search engine to work so I cant find it either at this time.

I shall await the quotation of the verse you are referring to (if there is any such verse).

Is it 817 you're looking for?

        Khalifa
It was not you who killed them; GOD is the One who killed them. It was not you who threw when you threw; GOD is the One who threw. But He thus gives the believers a chance to earn a lot of credit. GOD is Hearer, Omniscient.

        Pickthal
Ye (Muslims) slew them not, but Allah slew them. And thou (Muhammad) threwest not when thou didst throw, but Allah threw, that He might test the believers by a fair test from Him. Lo! Allah is Hearer, Knower.

          Peace all,

The context of 817 is battle with the rejecters. It does not refer at all to the events mentioned in 344.

              Peace Taj,

Messengers have made mistakes, including Yunus. The fact that he took part in drawing lots does not mean that drawing lots is sanctioned by Allah. Why would Allah advise us to avoid it in 590 if it was sanctioned ?

Yes, I have heard of Istikhara, but isn't it according to the unverifiable traditions ? Does Allah allow it in al-qur'aan ?

                Peace,

Istikhara is strange and depending on where you are living, has different procedures. In Pakistan, my aunt told me to recite the 'quls' three times and then the 'fatiha', or some such before sleeping and I'll get a dream in which if I see a green light, it's all good and if red then I'm doomed if I persist. I chose to rely on my own good sense rather than on an infallible 'oracle'.

                    Peace Tanveer,

                    Peace Taj,

Yunus did wrong when he did not deliver the message. And you are right. Drawing lots is not sanctioned by Allah, as that is how Yunus realized that Allah did not accept his withdrawal. So it is not sanctioned.
Regarding , I am not convinced that "Al Azlam" means lots. I need to ask my teachers about it.

Yes, I have heard of Istikhara, but isn't it according to the unverifiable traditions ? Does Allah allow it in al-qur'aan ?

I believe it is supported by Al Quran as it is part of asking Allah, as in Du3a'a. When you give charge to Allah over your matters .
There are many Ad3iyah (plural of Du3a'a) in Al Quran , and also to guide us to the straight path Surat #1 Al Fat7a Ihdinaa Al Ssira6a Al Mustaqeem...If you say it meaning it, Allah will lead you to the right way by "some" means..

                      Salam Taj, all,

                      Interesting observation!
In one of my trips to Africa, I think it was in Ivory Coast. I witnessed a "special" prayer to request a special favour from God theAll-Mighty to grant them rain as they were going through a long period without rain, and I was told at the time that this is a prayer of "istikhar"
Is the istikhar from "mussakhar" and "sakhar" like in verse 2164? or it is something else?
Many thanks in advance. Peace. Myr.

                        Peace sister

this prayer for the rain is called Salat Al Istisqaa, not Istikhara

Istikhara means to seek guidance to help you make a choice between a few available choices and is not related to the word Musakhar which means forced into a specific action, like the earth is Musakhara to rotate around itself and around the sun

                        Peace

Peace be upon you Salikah and all,

Glad to see you here sister ;D Fantastic post. And yes, I guess I should have explained more in detail that the oracle is a temporary instument to tap into the inution we all already have within, but most will never reach that level.

Danish, yes, 817 is the verse I was referring to, thank you. The God controls the throw of the coins and the picking of the cards when you ask a question. Remember the God answers the call of his servants. Regardless of the context of the verse, it shows that it is not you who throws but WE throw.

One must however work with the Oracles to get further insight, we can talk all day about wether it is valid or not, thats just subjective, the proof is in the testing.

Whats interesting about Metu Neter Oracle is that the different energies have numbers , colors, days , times of the day, etc that correspond to each one and when certain things happen, you get a "signature" to help verify what has happened.

I have actually opened up a topic that requires a lot of background info, but if anyone is interested I can refer you to some books that will help.

Salikah, if you come across any Metu Neter decks, please let me know. I have one myself but I want another and so do a few of my friends.

Peace be upon you Johhny K,

Make sure you are clean. Good to do after taking a shower/bath.

Get a cloth or some clean space to use.

Write your question down on a piece of paper

"Q- Please comment on my incarnation objective"

Then take the three coins, make sure you have designated a "heads and tails". Put them in your hands and cup them together so that the coins can shake loosely in your hands. Next drop them on the cloth or clean space. Write down the combination you get, I.E. 2 heads and one tail, 3 heads, 3 tails, 1 head and two tails.

You will do this for a total of six times.

Let me know your results and we can go from there.

                                Salam AhmedBahgat, all,

Many thanks for the clarification. Is al-istisqaa from yas'tasqa in verses 260 and 7160?

                                Peace sister

Yes, and as you can see it is related to gettin hold of water

Regarding al-istikhara issue, if my understanding is correct, is it then about making a decision based on a random choice (among others) by imploring God theAll-Mighty guidance?

                                yes

if this is the case, can we say this is similar to the sponsorship or kafalla of Maryam/Mary by Zakaria since the process described in Quran is random based on probabilities-)

not really, what happen with mariam was an argument to who should sponser her, Allah wanted Zakharia to be the one and caused it to happen, for them it was a mere random picking a pen out of many in one basket, "like lotto", it has nothing to do with seeking guiadance to an indvidual facing a few decisions, also salat al istikhara involves a physical prayer while what they did has nothing to do with Salat at all.

but God the All-Mighty made it in a way that the output is in Zakaria favour.

yes according to a plan, but Zakharia did not perform salat al istikhara to seek guidance to sponser her or not, HE WANTED TO SPONSER HER AS BAD AS ALL THE OTHERS WHO WANTED

After pondering, I think if my understanding of al-istikhara is correct, it does not contradict the wisdom in Quran as long as we acknowledge the Master of this game is the All-Mighty and not "chance" as such-).

I'm really not sure sister if you understand it correctly or not, but simply Istikhara relates to an individual not knowing what to do after facing a few choices, in mariam story however all the men wanted bad to sponser her, there was no Istikhara at all, what was done is similar to lotto, exacly like what happened to prophet Yunis

                                Peace be with you

Peace be upon you Johnny K,

Sorry for the delays. I usually post a lot at work but its been very busy and I dont have access to a computer at home for a moment, so we have to take this slowly.

Your response from the coins was Hexagram 41 (Decrease) into Hexagram 49 (Revolution)

                                        Lines 2,3,4,5 and 6 stressed.

I will read it over tonight and give you my understanding tommorrow.
