      Peace Tay,

Zenje, if you can't think of a reason to bring the kids to the city, then you haven't been on this planet recently. Here's a few trips for starters Museum of Natural History, The Met, The Bronx Zoo (I just went...it's freakin awesome), Central Park Zoo, The Museum of Television, The Blue Man Group (Fantastic), Cirque de Soleil, just to name a few, and in my beautiful Jersey, less than an hour away from the city, we have Six Flags/Great Adventure boasting Kingda Ka, the world's tallest and fastest roller coaster!
Now you did hear me say 3 year old right? But seriously, I had no idea you had a Central Park Zoo!... I thought they just made that up for the movie - Madagascar!LOL!

And I will take you up on the Colorado trip. Hopefully sooner than later. Are you close to any roaring rapid rides?
I don't know where they are, but I do know they exist. There's a lot of outdoorsy stuff to do around here, summer or winter. Believe me, there's more during summer... and all CO is known for is ski country. But dude, come on to the mile high city and we'll go to the rapids and some other cool stuff I've never done. Anything that won't give my knee any problems, that is, like steak. Hehe..

Send me an e-mail when you know fer sure.

Well, actually it's about the links which are scattered thorughout the entire FM forum in numerous threads. (I assume by the main website means not the forum). An example of links in a thread/post can be seen here. Now is those links are clicked, they will not take you to the appropriate post/thread. This is what Nadeem's code is fixing. ;D

          Peace,

I uploaded the viewtopic.php file, but it seems to be running in a loop as the links still don't open when clicked.

Is there a problem with the code?

            Salaam Layth,

Perhaps you can make Nadeem a special user for a while just so that he can fix things. ;D
            Just a suggestion.

                Hi Layth,

I've received your pm and I've sent you my ideas.

In the meantime, I'm gonna do some tests on my own forum to see that everything works -)

                  Peace Nadeem, all,

I have heard that there can be a 'ignore' poster button feature of some kind that can be turned on? Does that hold true for this forum and can it be turned on for those that might like to refine their experience at this forum?!?

Oh come on now Nadia,You don't want to miss out on the interesting stuff now, do ya? I think this option is in your profile page. You can put up a list of people to ignore, I guess. I never tried it tho.

(On a totally different subject)... has anyone seen Joe, TheNabi, of late?.. since we moved that is? ???

                    Peace

                            Hi Savage Carrot,

Yes, you're correct, however a mod has to be installed for this. However I could make a small incision in the index.php file, to exclude posts from persons who the view has chosen to ignore in the list here

                            http//www.free-minds.org80/forum/index.php?action=profile;sa=pmprefs

When the forum shows post, it ask's the database for post where the ID.TOPIC is set to the same id as the topic value in the urls, for this thread for example
                            http//www.free-minds.org80/forum/index.php?topic=5556

All I i have to do, is to program the forum to ask for posts that have the same ID.TOPIC and the author's name is not found in the viewers ignorelist.Sound simple eyh? -)

                            Nadeem.

Thanks for the info, that would be great for some people, if you could be so kind as to operate away?

I would also like to request the current spelling of 'enlightned' to be changed as it is incorrect. It should be 'enlightened'.

number of posts (quantity) does not relate to quality

that system of scoring is pointless.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

I see no harm in having some light hearted references to go with the # of posts...Perhaps the ones I have chosen are a bit too serious and if you like we can use the star wars ones posted by savage

                                    1 star 0-99 posts (Speck/MidiChlorian?)

                                        peace Layth, SC, all,

whilst i can appreciate the light-heartedness of the naming, if you can show this will be obvious to newcomers and bears no significance in terms of quality then i will agree to keep it.

if you cannot, then i am against it.

having said that, if its not possible to remove the star system, then stick with what you've got i suppose.

                                          Peace bro Wakas,

A lot of forums use this type of 'classification'. Some have themes and some are arbitrary. Some I have seen personally are like 'veteran', 'novice' etc by default and some can change them by putting stuff up there as they choose. I think it's commonly known that it has nothing to do with quality but the number of posts and thus time spent at that particular forum.
