Peace Nadeem, all,
I have heard that there can be a 'ignore' poster button feature of some kind that can be turned on? Does that hold true for this forum and can it be turned on for those that might like to refine their experience at this forum?!?
Oh come on now Nadia,You don't want to miss out on the interesting stuff now, do ya? I think this option is in your profile page. You can put up a list of people to ignore, I guess. I never tried it tho.
(On a totally different subject)... has anyone seen Joe, TheNabi, of late?.. since we moved that is? ???
Peace

Hehe, I wouldn't miss it for the world...but I ask for someone else who would prefer it. I saw Joe logged in yesterday if it helps?

Hi Savage Carrot,
Yes, you're correct, however a mod has to be installed for this. However I could make a small incision in the index.php file, to exclude posts from persons who the view has chosen to ignore in the list here
http//www.free-minds.org80/forum/index.php?action=profile;sa=pmprefs
When the forum shows post, it ask's the database for post where the ID.TOPIC is set to the same id as the topic value in the urls, for this thread for example
http//www.free-minds.org80/forum/index.php?topic=5556All I i have to do, is to program the forum to ask for posts that have the same ID.TOPIC and the author's name is not found in the viewers ignorelist.Sound simple eyh? -)
Nadeem.

Peace Nadeem, all
Thanks for the info, that would be great for some people, if you could be so kind as to operate away?
I would also like to request the current spelling of 'enlightned' to be changed as it is incorrect. It should be 'enlightened'.

Peace Wakas,
I see no harm in having some light hearted references to go with the # of posts...Perhaps the ones I have chosen are a bit too serious and if you like we can use the star wars ones posted by savage
1 star 0-99 posts (Speck/MidiChlorian?)
2 stars 100-299 posts (Padawan/Sith Apprentice)
3 stars 300-499 (Jedi? Sentinel)
4 stars 500-999 (Jedi? Knight)
5 stars 1000 and over (Jedi Master or Sith Lord?) -
Peace Layth, Wakas, all
I think the one's we have currently are completely fine...and bro Wakas...we know its the quality that matters
-
peace Layth, SC, all,
whilst i can appreciate the light-heartedness of the naming, if you can show this will be obvious to newcomers and bears no significance in terms of quality then i will agree to keep it.
if you cannot, then i am against it.
having said that, if its not possible to remove the star system, then stick with what you've got i suppose.

Peace bro Wakas,
A lot of forums use this type of 'classification'. Some have themes and some are arbitrary. Some I have seen personally are like 'veteran', 'novice' etc by default and some can change them by putting stuff up there as they choose. I think it's commonly known that it has nothing to do with quality but the number of posts and thus time spent at that particular forum.
