I went on Aidid's site and I was quite disgusted to read that he thought that much of the world's hostility towards traditional Islam is justified. There religion is bad but not so bad that you can justify the hatred. There are a few barbaric laws in the religion but we don't have the satanic sharia ruling all the world ) and I find that most religions have a dark side but any thing bad about traditional islam is always highlighted. Sure there's a lot of shirk in traditional Islam but the whole flippin' world commits shirk too ). I don't understand how he thinks the hostility is justified. ???
I really wanna buy his book but I have to wait until December coz I'm too young to get a credit card yet ( I can't ask my mum to get it for me coz she would hit the roof if she found out what was written on it -X
Aidid sounds kinda racist though...

I do like Aidid Safar's translation, but I don't like his hatred towards the arabs. I know Islam's been distorted, but it hasn't been "The Arabs" (whoever they are) working delibrately to do this.
And KGB, you may not have mocked him, but you did call him a "stupid racist" without justifying why you called him that. And you didn't even think to give him the benefit of the doubt.

A lot of people's honest opinion is that I'm a kafir, should they be allowed to call me that?
I don't mind that they believe that I'm a kafir, however, I do mind that they refer to me as such in front of others.
Nothing good comes out of defining a person negatively. Do you differ?
What you should have said, is that you find his writings to be such and such, and provided examples.
In addition, the quality of his translations does not depend upon him being a racist or not.
Your answer did not help clarify, nor was relevant, to the first post "Does anybody knows what happened to him? or why he stops translating the Quran?"

I disagree with Aidid Safar mainly because he redefines age old arabic words with new words,some of which do not fit in conformity of the text of the quran.Simple example would be the linking of kaaba..with ankles...many of his hypothesis may sound attractive ,but i find no basis in it whatsoever.Also his translation is more confusing to me than clarifying.Its my personal view,that he distorts meanings of certain arabic words to give an overall picture that fits with his view on how things should be,rather than objectively try and translate.Peace....
