Is 'hate' the biggest sin?

Peace
I believe the reading points out that shirk is the gravest of sins .
Joe
Exactly bro

Peace all. Can anyone tell me the 'practical' consequences in this life,of so-called shirk with god......And can anyone tell me that they have NEVER committed shirk,or will not do so in the future...?
Peace all. ps;im not referring to idol-frees' definition of shirk.(which i partly agree with.) -
Peace
Hate certainly is problematic .... but the question of good and bad does not find an answer in a love/hate dichotomy, I think.
Love can equally lead you to horrible things. You can easily corrupt your own principles when you love the wrong person.
Very easily.Or even worse, some people love things .... love of money tends to be much more dangerous than hate of it, I?d say.
Likewise, I think hating the deeds of guys like Hitler, Bin Laden, child molesters who killed several little girls is a sign of a sane mind.
Loving and hating the right persons and things is the question. When you e.g. love Hitler but hate blacks then you?re in big trouble.
All passions and feelings can become dangerous when they become an idol for us, shirk. This is as true for love as it is for hate or fear or courage or whatever .... .

Peace all. ps;im not referring to idol-frees' definition of shirk.(which i partly agree with.)You will not be able to find many people who have the courage to admit that he/she is/was a mushrik, that is if they would take the time and effort to realize that they have it! Especially when you know that Al Shirk can sometimes be so subtle and harder to spot than a black ant on a black dress at a pitch black night!
I don't think that there are always obvious 'practical' consequences in this life for the mushrikeen.
-
Peace Taj. Appreciate your candidness...Although my 'concept' of shirk may be different from others. (i believe shirk is when a person is believing/practising in an harmful illusion.) I believe that many of us have done/are doing this through ignorance or negative emotions...
'Let him who is without sin cast the first stone'... Positive, realistic moral education is vital in trying to counter-act 'shirk'...
Peace all. ps;i dont think shirk is an 'automatically damnable' offense...We just have to stop/reduce our illusionary behaviour and/or try to make amends for the harm we have done... -
Hello Public
It seems many don?t understand what shirk really is, they think shirk is considering another god or another human as a god in addition to the real God, well it is surely as such but it also has another meaning that does not conflict with the more obvious meaning, consequently shirk is both meanings, the other meaning is exactly as the Quran told, IF YOU LISTEN TO SATAN THEN YOU HAVE SHIRKED
For example God said that He sent the Quran to us, Satan said "no it is not sent by God rather the words of a bunch of anonymous scribes", those who will listen to Satan will be Mishrikoon, because instead of listening to Allah they listened to Satan, let?s see how the Arabic Quran confirms that
Let me start by highlighting Satan's main objective, It is clearly to flaw everyone of us, he is so committed that he said this to Allah
(Iblis) said "Then, by Thy power, I will put them all in the wrong,-?
(82)
-> By the power of God, Iblis will do his best to put all the humans in the wrong, you have to know that Iblis main enemy are the believers not the unbelievers, he needs to do nothing more for the unbelievers, unless they think of believing then he will come back to them from every where trying hard to put them in the wrong again
16- He said Now, because Thou hast sent me astray, verily I shall lurk in ambush for them on Thy Right Path.
17- Then I shall come upon them from before them and from behind them and from their right hands and from their left hands, and Thou wilt not find most of them beholden (unto Thee).
(16)
(17)-> See, ? verily I shall lurk in ambush for them on Thy Right Path? and how he will do it? ? I shall come upon them from before them and from behind them and from their right hands and from their left hands, and Thou wilt not find most of them beholden (unto Thee).?
A major problem for those humans who obey satn instead of Allah is this, their horrible crime of rejecting the Quran as being the words of Allah as it says about itself looks like a good deed to them
What! is he whose evil deed is made fairseeming to him so much so that he considers it good? Now surely Allah makes err whom He pleases and guides aright whom He pleases, so let not your soul waste away in grief for them; surely Allah is Cognizant of what they do
(
-> See again, the believers who submitted to Allah and accepted the Quran as His true and unchanged words, should not waste their souls away in grief for those who obeyed Satan ? so let not your soul waste away in grief for them;? because ? surely Allah is Cognizant of what they do?
If you listen to the your Enemy instead of your God, wouldn?t that make you a Mushrik?
Verily Satan is an enemy to you so treat him as an enemy. He only invites his adherents, that they may become Companions of the Blazing Fire.
(6)
-> Please pay attentions to the words ? He only invites his adherents, that they may become Companions of the Blazing Fire.?, that is what he did with those who reject that the Quran is the exact and preserved words of our God, he only invited them so they become his companions in the blazing fire, and sure rejecting the Quran and claiming it is a mere human words is enough to secure a horrible and eternal seat in the blazing fire, even if they do Salat 1000 times a day, their seat is secured unless they repent.
Let me put it again in points (What Iblis must do to the humans)
- He will recognise that they want to believe
- He comes to them from every where to stop that from happening
- He invites them through ignorance, arrogance and self pride to suggest that the Quran is not the true words of God
- They accepted the invitation and flawed themselves, this made Iblis very happy
- They secured their seat in the blazing fire if they insist on that non sense and don't repent before death come to them suddenly and I tell you if you die a Mushrik, get ready for a bashing party
- Iblis moves to another human while monitoring the flawed one just in case he/she thinks of considering the Quran as the exact words of Allah again
This is in effect constitutes great SHIRK, here is why again
- Allah told us, the Quran is His real and exact preserved words
- Iblis said it is not
- The ones who listened to Satan and took his words over the words of Allah HAS SHIRKED. And what shirk that is, they shirked Satan with Allah
Iblis himself can?t be a Mushrik, because he never obeyed anyone else other than Allah, Iblis is ONLY a Kafir because he only disobeyed Allah but never associated partners with Allah by listening to them over the words of Allah.
This crystal clear fact of SHIRKING SATAN WITH ALLAH will be told to those ignorant humans by Iblis himself on the JD
And Satan will say when the matter is decided "It was Allah Who gave you a promise of Truth I too promised, but I failed in my promise to you. I had no authority over you except to invite you but ye listened to me then reproach not me, but reproach your own souls. I cannot listen to your cries, nor can ye listen to mine. I reject your former act in associating me with Allah. For wrong-doers there must be a grievous penalty."
(22)
-> See, when the JD verdict is passed, Iblis will tell whoever he managed to invite flaw ? And Satan will say when the matter is decided It was Allah Who gave you a promise of Truth I too promised, but I failed in my promise to you.?, the fact of the matter is, Satan never had authority on us but a mere invitation ? I had no authority over you except to invite you but ye listened to me?, but he can?t be blamed because he didn?t force them ? then reproach not me, but reproach your own souls.?, in fact is, both will be crying hard at that time ? I cannot listen to your cries, nor can ye listen to mine.?, then he will tell them that their actions was SHIRK ? I reject your former act in associating me with Allah.?
Those Mushrikoon will have the shock of an eternal life when they die, the angels of death are waiting for the time to come and take your soul and when it happens while you are a Mushrik ?i.e. obeying Satan andnot obeying Allah? then get ready for a bashing party by the angels, imagine being bashed and you are helpless to defend yourself, and even if you are strong how can you beat the angels?, well here is a sample movie for a human bashing another human, the one who is bashed had his hands tight behind his back, he is helpless to defend himself

Hello Public
......

.......Very true, that's what I think is the difference between a kafir and a mushrik, and that explains the several clear verses in Quran that state "ina Allah la yuhibu al kafereen" (literally "Allah does NOT LOVE al-kafereen (plural of kafir)". So to go back to the subject of hate, it is fully legitimate to hate even if we are labelled "less humanist" -).
Can you please tell me from where I can get those arabic verses with tashkeel that you are able to paste in your messages? I use Burhan Quran search engine but there is no tashkeel there. Your help is appreciated. Many thanks in advance. Peace. Myr. -

Peace Myr and others.
(literally "Allah does NOT LOVE al-kafereen (plural of kafir)". So to go back to the subject of hate, it is fully legitimate to hate even if we are labelled "less humanist" -). from Myr
I think a Muslim does not allow vanity to have any place in his mind. Sheerk and vanity just have absolutely no place in Muslim heart. Godhead and vanity belongs only to Allah.
Allah said that the universe is made for mankind. Yet I can not be proud in front of the universe and just can not shout with vanity raising my finger that I am a superior being. Allah said, ?kuntum khaira ummatin?. Yet I can not be proud, and boast before non-Muslims for my being Muslim. Similarly, I can not say, ?I am an Irish, I am proud of it?.
Now about hatred. Allah said that He does not love the ?Kafirs?. He created the Kafirs and He loves them not. But who am I to hate a Kafir? How can I hate a Kafir? I am not the creator or the owner of the kafirs. More over, the terms ?Does not love? and ?hates? may not mean the same.
Muslims are asked to remain cautious, prepared against their enemies. Hatred has not been encouraged. Muslims are also cautioned that hatred must not lead them to cross the limits of justice against their enemies. Here Islam only accepted the reality that many of the members of the Muslim community may feel hatred against the persecutors. You know, each and every individual may not succeed in attaining the highest degree of moral.
Ideally, a Muslim Imam takes sword out of love and wisdom, not in response to hatred.
Hatred should not be diminished, I think, only in the case of physical hygiene. It has nothing to do with human relations.

peace prashant-kumar. Very good analysis... bravo

Peace myr. I appreciate your view of not practically acting hate out on people.... bravo
However, what if you are wrong in your interpretations/practical applications of who to 'hate'...? -
Peace
what if you are wrong in your interpretations/practical applications of who to 'hate'
She gave a clear answer already.
I hate homosexuality and those who practice it
It's no guessing game. This is what is abhorred, this behavior, whoever practices it.
Personally I will not guess who may be doing what, but anyone doing it is one who will have my abhorrence.

Peace nabi. Clear for YOU...I wanted clarification....Or is that against the forum rules?
-
Peace Myr and others.
I am sorry for my misunderstanding.
Allah is in the position to decree what is good and what is evil. A Muslim and a Kaffir are both in the position of Allah?s subject. What Allah says, and in what tone, that fits His position may not fit me with my position as a subject.
The second thing is that Allah expressed His disliking (meaning not loving) for the evil-doers (for example, the sodomites). What is the implication of it for a Muslim? It is to stay away from evil-deeds. Allah did not say in the Quran, ?Allah does not love the evil-doers, so O ye who believe! hate the evil-doers.? If you read the Quran carefully you will find that Allah refrained from promoting hatred among the Muslims against the evil-doers even in your interpretation of the term ?hatred?.
Allah asked us to fear Allah and to stay away from wine, gambling, usury etc. But you will not find there any urge from Allah to hate these acts or those who are associated with these.
A Muslim is cautious, careful against evil and evildoers. Even a Muslim is sympathetic to the evil-doers at the bottom of his heart and he even does not express his sympathy so overtly that may offend the evil-doer. Practically, hatred is associated with some other bad consequences. That is why I fear the term ?hatred?. I do not totally disagree with your interpretation. That?s nice too. But the terms ?caution?, ?carefulness? are better or safer or less misleading, and more befitting with Quran?s approach.
Believe me, A Muslim is more ?Humanist? than a ?Humanist?.

Peace Ahmed, All
Iblis himself can?t be a Mushrik, because he never obeyed anyone else other than Allah, Iblis is ONLY a Kafir because he only disobeyed Allah but never associated partners with Allah by listening to them over the words of Allah.
Iblees was not only a kafir but also a mushrik too. Iblees associated his own ego with Allah.
Iblees was the first mushrik. He, proudly, led the way of shirk.
The very first thing he said in response to Allah's command was "Ana (I, Me) is better than him (meaning Adam)..." The Ana the Ego of Iblees was more improtant to him than listening and following God's command. He knows Allah enough to believe him but he also worshipped his ego and gave his ego priority in spite of the penalty that would await him. That is the unseen shirk that most of humans will fall into, their own ego.
You would not see only mushrikeen worshipping people, messengers or man-made gods. As that is the seen shirk.
But there are the mushriks who worship their own egos, following the example of Iblees. They set their own egos as their gods, but not always necessairly setting Iblees as their god.Iblees did not force the mushriks to associate him (Iblees) with Allah, not that he did not try to or did not work for it. But for human to blame it all on Ibless would be unfair, as they had the free will and choice. The same free will Iblees had/has. So to blame it all on Iblees would to the question If humans can blame, who can Iblees blame!?
That is what Iblees wants those mushriks to understand in JD .So Iblees in JD will disown those mushrikeen because he did not force them to worship him, nor worship their egos. They themselves, proudly, chose to do that, with him only misleading them all the way, of course, because he wants company in Jahannam.
