I can't see why mine and enquirers posts on bro wakas's thread were deleted coz there was no debate going on, the thread had been dead for ages so i thought it was no big deal, especially since someone started talking about treating parents amicably but HIS post was not deleted but mine and enquirers were, I find it SO sexist how you left HIS post (even though it was off-topic) but deleted mine and sis enquirers. You should try adding "Don't be sexist" to the rules you give to the mods Layth.

    Peace,

Peace layth. I have read the rules...I asked a few questions in my post...which are not answered by the rules....you know layth can you explain how your rules correlate with the quran you so belovedly claim to uphold...? If you cant, then thats fine,i know the reason...

Gods Scripture gives its followers leeway to deal with the mifsidoon` (troublemakers/corrupters).

The recompense of those who fight God and His messenger, and seek to make corruption in the land, is that they will be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off on alternate sides or that they be banished from the land; that is a disgrace for them in this world and in the Hereafter they will have a great retribution. (533)

The punishment in real life ranges from banishment to killing depending on the circumstances and the level of fasaad/corruption involved...

c'mon Layth you can't compare a forum to the big bad world rotfl

And the punishment must never be worse then the crime 16/126.

The verse you quoted was referring to heinous crimes and not people violating forum rules so i can't understand why you quoted that confused

I know that even the people who claim to translate the 'Quran alone' without outside sources still are influenced by their background but you can hardly call people that violate forum rules mifsidoon rotfl rotfl

The other day someone told me that in Arabia they chop peoples heads off every Friday for "committing crimes" and they call people to witness it, i started laughing at how ridiculous it sounded...but..... does that really happen? confused

    peace,
    sugar

            Peace,

c\\\'mon Layth you can\\\'t compare a forum to the big bad world

And the punishment must never be worse then the crime 16/126.

Banning is not even close to the crime of disrupting the study/discussion of Gods words and disrupting the praising of His name (in-fact, it is insignificant when compared to the reality that people who mock and ridicule Gods Scripture/laws will face when they meet Him).

And those who rejected said Do not listen to this Quran and talk over it that you may succeed. We will let those who have rejected taste a severe retribution. And We will recompense them for the evil that they used to do. Such is the recompense for God\\\\\\\'s enemies; the Fire shall be their eternal abode, as a recompense for their discarding Our revelations. (4126-2

Do you think there is a difference between people mocking the Scripture in a forum or if they do it face to face?

Will the God of Abraham treat such people differently because they mocked His words on-line rather than mocking His words face-to-face?

The verse you quoted was referring to heinous crimes and not people violating forum rules so i can\\\'t understand why you quoted that

It is speaking of fasaad (corruption/mischeif)...Nowhere does a word translated as heinous crimes appear in the text...Fasaad is given as the opposite of making right (see 26152)

I know that even the people who claim to translate the \\\'Quran alone\\\' without outside sources still are influenced by their background but you can hardly call people that violate forum rules mifsidoon

My mistake...I should do as you do and make jest and funny emotiocons when God`s Scripture is ignored or deemed as irrelevant.

And it will be said to them Today We will forget you, just as you forgot the meeting of this Day. And your abode is the Fire, and you will have no helpers. This is because you took God\\\'s revelations in mockery, and you were deceived by the worldly life. So from this Day, they will never exit therefrom, nor will they be excused. (4534-35)

The other day someone told me that in Arabia they chop peoples heads off every Friday for \\\"committing crimes\\\" and they call people to witness it, i started laughing at how ridiculous it sounded...but..... does that really happen?

I heard that the US likes to use depleted uranium shells when murdering people who were once safe in their own countries? Or that zionists like to crush people while they are still in their homes?

There is no relevance between what the idolworshippers do on Earth and what God has commanded...So why ask?

thanks for the correct word. I always confuse the English prefixes, more when the prefixes un- and -dis mean the same, opposite, reverse, not.

                I really appreciate the correction.

                    peace sugar,

A thread is not dead if it hasn't received replies in a while. You do realise that there is a search function in this forum, thus for example, I often read past threads but dont reply to them. I can guarantee you others do the same.

Making a significant* number of off-topic posts derails the original purpose of the thread, and its message can often get lost, thus its discouraged, and sometimes the offending posts can be deleted.

*please note, I did not mind one or two, but when it became most of the posts on the thread, then they had to be deleted.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

well i occasionally click on the last page of the 'list of threads' but i don't see that as some sort of 'search function'

Do you have those search functions like they do in some forums where you type a key word and a list of topics come up?

Peace wakas. I will just make a few comments. The dialogue between me and sugar on that thread contained comments that i had to reply to.....I felt genuinely worried for sugar, and tried to clarify her situation,i would have felt IRRESPONSIBLE if i didnt address some of the things i learnt from that dialogue...I probably should have talked to her by pm,but i didnt want to intrude on her privacy too much,either...
It seemed heavy handed to delete, you could have re-directed the posts,or thread,or sent a pm to me and sugar...
Also dont you think,as muslims/humanity, that we could address or help sugar with some advice on some of the 'issues' raised by her?...Dont we bear some responsibility to help others...? (obviously with her permission and approval.)
We all make mistakes, and now i will consign this 'episode' to 'experience'...
No hard feelings for anyone, but lessons to be learnt and pondered...

i was not mocking it, i found it amusing how you used that verse in the that context

Layth you can't crucify or chop mine and enquirers feet or do anything as harsh as that simply coz we were off topic.

This is a forum in cyberspace, therefore it goes without saying that nothing beyond banning will occur.

What you seem to have a problem with is the relevance of the verse I quoted (fair enough)...

I am saying that people who cause mischeif and are driven primarily by a desire disrupt and even mock the words of the Almighty are mufsidoon.

                          Why Mufsidoon?

Because such people who do not believe in the words of the Almighty and who have no desire to study or verify if indeed the Scripture is what it claims to be have come into this place to deliberatly disrupt and mock those who are truly interested in Gods words...The strategy of delibertly hounding muslims so as to make noisein a place which has been created for the sole purpose of glorifying God is in my opinoin an act offasaad`.

i aint ignoring god's revelations but i certainly do not like them taken out of context.

If you want to make such a claim then bring your counter argument and show me how the verse was used out of context and what the relevant application of the word(s) is...Simply using emotiocons as you have done in your initial post was read by me as your mocking Gods Scripture, especially since the discussion was between myself and Enquirer, and especially as enquirer is a self confessed humanist (that is someone who takes pride in rejecting Gods scripture and who believes that he and his sect are above the need for such guidance).

There is no relevance between what the idolworshippers do on Earth and what God has commanded...So why ask?

                          well why not ask why?

Because I am not interested to have an off-topic discussion

Yes, of course your human, i think nobody ever doubted that, only you call them prophets, while your position to the Quran makes them liars. Muhammed claimed the Quran was from God, a prophet is a person recieving SCRIPTURES from God, and by your position this makes Muhammed a liar, as you don't believe it is from God, just a wise book. You'll probably say a prophet is someone deeply connected with reality/truth. But how can this be as they claimed even more, that they recieved personally from God? That doesn't make it just a connection, but a revelation. So then your(it is just a guess that you look at prophets this way, but i believe i'm not far off) idea of a prophet is wrong as then Muhammed was not deeply connected with the truth as he lied about it being more then just that. See the difference?

                                Peace

Peace all. Check out verses 3134,52,58,4238,6153,16125,1753,283,etc,etc... (and many others,'interpreted' as being fair to people, showing tolerance, controlling emotions, speaking in the best manner etc,etc...)
Moses was commanded to speak NICELY/CIVILLY with pharoah....
Peace all. ps; Arnoldyasin; You are making far too many guesses and assumptions about me...
Some on the forum believe the 'prophet' is a character trait and not a person...these people still believe in the quran as well....
Dont confuse or equate different ideas of god/scriptures/prophets with calling prophets liars or rejection of certain values...
Show me ONE post where i EXPLICITLY called a prophet a liar...?
Your post is pretty emotional, and i expected far better from you....
                                  Peace all.

                                    Peace,

                                    Why Mufsidoon?
Because such people who do not believe in the words of the Almighty and who have no desire to study or verify if indeed the Scripture is what it claims to be have come into this place to deliberatly disrupt and mock those who are truly interested in God`s words...

probably some people don't come to disrupt and mock but to show their views or their worry about what they consider dangerous or deviated or problematic, thus, they present some topics to discuss that are related to the controversial points like the differences in interpretation of the verses, the slaves, etc. , like when muslims discuss about how wrong the trinity concept is, for instance, and they are not deliberately disrupting and mocking the Christian belief but expressing their concern.

Peace Elena. Your comment and post is exactly what people should understand, before branding/accusing people as 'liars' or 'mischief-makers'...
                                      Thank you.

Some people do that and some do something else. When quite some time passes, it seperates the chaff from the wheat.

Enquirer, it was not meant emotional. It was just speaking about that you used Muhammed as an example of him being human and calling him prophet. And it is a charachter trait. But if you don't believe the Quran is from God, how then can you accept Muhammed saying it being so? How do you handle that? How do you handle Muhammed saying in the Quran it is from God as real revelation? Because if you don't believe it is a revelation, then Muhammed is a liar. 1+1=2 This is the thing i don't understand, it was not meant as an offense. I just cannot get your point of view, it is not that i don't respect it.
