Peace,
Why Mufsidoon?
Because such people who do not believe in the words of the Almighty and who have no desire to study or verify if indeed the Scripture is what it claims to be have come into this place to deliberatly disrupt and mock those who are truly interested in God`s words...probably some people don't come to disrupt and mock but to show their views or their worry about what they consider dangerous or deviated or problematic, thus, they present some topics to discuss that are related to the controversial points like the differences in interpretation of the verses, the slaves, etc. , like when muslims discuss about how wrong the trinity concept is, for instance, and they are not deliberately disrupting and mocking the Christian belief but expressing their concern.
-
Peace Elena. Your comment and post is exactly what people should understand, before branding/accusing people as 'liars' or 'mischief-makers'...
Thank you. -

Some people do that and some do something else. When quite some time passes, it seperates the chaff from the wheat.

Peace all. Check out verses 3134,52,58,4238,6153,16125,1753,283,etc,etc... (and many others,'interpreted' as being fair to people, showing tolerance, controlling emotions, speaking in the best manner etc,etc...)
Moses was commanded to speak NICELY/CIVILLY with pharoah....
Peace all. ps; Arnoldyasin; You are making far too many guesses and assumptions about me...
Some on the forum believe the 'prophet' is a character trait and not a person...these people still believe in the quran as well....
Dont confuse or equate different ideas of god/scriptures/prophets with calling prophets liars or rejection of certain values...
Show me ONE post where i EXPLICITLY called a prophet a liar...?
Your post is pretty emotional, and i expected far better from you....
Peace all.Enquirer, it was not meant emotional. It was just speaking about that you used Muhammed as an example of him being human and calling him prophet. And it is a charachter trait. But if you don't believe the Quran is from God, how then can you accept Muhammed saying it being so? How do you handle that? How do you handle Muhammed saying in the Quran it is from God as real revelation? Because if you don't believe it is a revelation, then Muhammed is a liar. 1+1=2 This is the thing i don't understand, it was not meant as an offense. I just cannot get your point of view, it is not that i don't respect it.
-
Peace arnoldyasin. You are looking at things relating to me,in a 'black and white' logic.....How can you say if i believe in a certain idea, then x=liar,or such like...How do you know my current defintion of god? How do you know what i mean when i say 'Divine'.....?
If you will recall thats why i asked you to define objectivity, subjectivity, and reality in another thread.....
Peace all. ps;If we dont want to get off-topic,then pm if you wish... -
Peace,
Yes, i forgot you also treat the term God different. Excuse my comments. Was not meant offensive. None of my comments ever were. And if they were, i forgot my place. So if i have done so, please take my apologizes. We may differ in views and how we proof things. But we both want the best in this world.
Peace and respect
-
Peace arnoldyasin. Thats ok my brother. I apologise for my shortcomings to...
I am very happy that we both want the best in this world...And i do agree, much wisdom can be deduced from the quran...
peace all. ps; hope we can get back on track now... sun bravo yay Take care. -
Salaamun alaikum all,
This is a very interesting thread and I'd like to put my 2 cents in, if I may. I'd like to introduce the concept of responsibility to the participants of a disucssion.
Responsibility means simply that, that one needs to be responsble for ones words. I am all for a constructive, positive discussion but being the guy who sits in the defendants box isnt what i'd call a 'constructive, positive discussion'.
I will give an example
Enquirer has created a thread asking 'is there modern technology in the quran'. I would be happy to answer him BUT I would expect him to reciprocate by answering my questions like
- what is 'modern technology'
- why is modern technology significant
- can modern technology be used unconditionally
Not doing so, imho should be considered an offence because the creator of the thread has wasted my time and made me dance to his tune while refusing to extend the same courtesy. I am not his monkey but the administration of this site has made me so due to their policy. The ones who stick to al-quraan should be able to interrogate the interrogator because if they don't, we're assuming all their concepts are 'the truth' and we will be guilty of shirik ourselves.
I can promise the moderators, if this policy is enforced, only the ones who are here to sincerely discuss will stick around. The others'll decide its not worth their bother.
p.s. the above thread is an example only. i havent posted in that thread yet.

Peace mquran. Thats fine,as long as civility is maintained, time is allowed to reply, and people reserve the right not to answer 'rhethorical'/'loaded' questions...
peace all. ps; there is a difference between 'interrogation' and asking questions... -
Peace
Disrespectful*
Christ, if you're going to accuse me of something at least use the proper word.thanks for the correct word. I always confuse the English prefixes, more when the prefixes un- and -dis mean the same, opposite, reverse, not.
I really appreciate the correction.
I consider it a gross disrespect when people confuse prefixes. Apologise. Immediately, please.
-
Peace,
I do have to agree with mquran. My part is to stay friendly, so i only apologize for that to people. But if people want to be taken seriously, they should stop this behaviour. And i agree the mod's should talk about who to allow in the virtual masjid to a certain degree.
-
Peace all. I would have to say that WHEN people are civil, respectful, and ask appropriate questions, then most on this forum do answer questions...Sometimes when people dont respond, its because of the perceived 'attitude' of the poster... Also I think some people are trying to assume that a poster has the time to answer mutiple posters, and several questions,in a very short time...
And,conversely, not everbody answers the questions that are posted in the 'critical' section either....So i would suggest being consistent, and even-handed if good discussions are what is wanted...
Peace all. ps;look forward to some even-handed discussions... -

I agree, I would like to add another addendum. Temper the sugary sweetness please or get sprayed with some skin paint. It's appalling. We are here to have a debate and discussion about meaty matters with substance and potatoes, not make best friends. Many times someone will be getting right to the point, the crux of the issue as it were without frills and lace and they are perceived as having an attitude and accused of conduct misdemeanours. I would suggest sticking with the substance and ignoring the rest if they do have something of substance to add. Many people do this as well. Perceptions are a tricky business. They are all kinds on any forum and everyone cannot be made happy no matter how hard one tries.

Peace all. Remember when ford said you can have any colour car,as long as its red...?
I think thats a good analogy for some behaviours here...
'Do as i say,not as i do'... Thats also another appropriate quote for those who want to reflect on their own behaviour... group
peace all. ps;i like yoghurt, you may not like yoghurt.....Thats no problem...But please dont throw the yoghurt on the screen... -
