Fighting in the cause of God
-
peace layth, completely agree
Also some people may have missed this really IMPORTANT note, when you said
"You are trying to please people while it was God all along you should have cared about pleasing."
Amen to that, that's what 'religion' is.
In relation to that, I also think " What can any human do to me, compared to what God can do to me? "

Not to be rude, but your (or mine) personal beliefs matter very little in this.
You clearly don't understand. U.N. has called Iraq invasion Illegal according to international laws. Not to be rude here but looks like you have some kind of understanding problem.
The United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan has told the BBC the US-led invasion of Iraq was an illegal act that contravened the UN charter.
He said the decision to take action in Iraq should have been made by the Security Council, not unilaterally.Sigh
You really think UN's laws are considered 'international laws'? No one really cares an iota about what UN has to say. The UN, for all intents and purposes, is a joke. In terms of the war - the US never officially declared war on Iraq (in fact, operation desert storm was never really over, but instead halted it so it could be ressurected later). In fact, the last time America officially declared was in 1941, against Germany.
If you want to read about it with a complete list of references go here http//www.hrcr.org/hottopics/Iraq.html
From the article you can see that the US invasion of Iraq is extremely questionable but is not outside the bounds of the law. That's not the only documentation you'll find. Do a search on google and you'll come up with plenty of pro/anti war propaganda, however I picked that article because it refrains from personal opinions or forging conclusions, and provides a list of references.
Last I checked, the Earth (and everything on it) still belonged to the Lord of the Universe...By right of ownership, it is His laws which we should be concerned about, not those of the rejectors.
That wouldn't make a very good international policy. And please, let's not get so melodramatic here. We both know what law of the land is; you may think of it as a non-sequitur but when it affects nearly 7 billion people I'd say it has a little bit of relevance. What exactly are you arguing for here anyway, that everyone in the world should be muslim and the only recognized legality should stem from the Quran? Are you serious? If so, how do you validate your claims against the mountain of other belief systems claiming the exact same thing?
-
Did you read any of what I posted? Apparently me, and a whole lot of charters are all arguing 'illogically'. Next time I advise you to not start a discussion point in which you'll pay attention to no observable facts other than those of your personal beliefs.

This is most absurd statement I have heard in favor of Iraq illegal invasion and criminal occupation. Why don't you convey this to Bush and Blair who are trying to find Iraq invsaion look like a right decision.

Precisely and well contructed, specially the underlined.

Peace,
That wouldn't make a very good international policy. And please, let's not get so melodramatic here. We both know what law of the land is; you may think of it as a non-sequitur but when it affects nearly 7 billion people I'd say it has a little bit of relevance.
Why do you care about what the people around you are doing? Can
t you stand-up and sayaccording to the laws of God this is what the correct situation/action should be`. Even on this thread you have shied away from analysing the situation based on the laws of the Almighty and have differed the discussion to international or US law (and this is a forum with a majority who believe the Scripture is indeed from God and who accept its words/laws)...What exactly are you arguing for here anyway, that everyone in the world should be muslim and the only recognized legality should stem from the Quran? Are you serious? If so, how do you validate your claims against the mountain of other belief systems claiming the exact same thing?
Stop worrying about everyone else...God will sort them out in His own design...We are only required to convey the knowledge/information we have read and understood to be from God...It is then upto the recipient to think, analyze, and decide whether this method/system is indeed better than the one he/she is currently following or not.
-
NeoWhat exactly are you arguing for here anyway, that everyone in the world should be muslim and the only recognized legality should stem from the Quran?
If by 'arguing' you mean asserting a policy whether in discourse or in the world (my interpretation of the word 'tahajja' then that's what I'm arguing for, a 'mulkus Sulaimaan' as mentioned in al-quraan.
Are you serious? If so, how do you validate your claims against the mountain of other belief systems claiming the exact same thing?
There's no conceptual validation insofar as I cannot go into your heart and verify for you. The only way is to implement our system as best we can and let Allah keep His promise.
Let me now ask you Why do you sound so incredulous at this?

I like your version of Islam...
lol maybe you'll convert yay
It entails upholding the verses you probably think are
cooland simply ignoring or rejecting the verses you may see asunpopular.no Layth, to be honest there is NOTHING
coolabout ANY verse in the Quran. I don't read quran because I think it iscool, it is far from cool, not that I care ). You can't quote THAT verse in ordinary circumstances. (like the time Enq went off-topic ))You are trying to please people while it was God all along you should have cared about pleasing.
no you are assuming that i am pleasing people. When I was a traditional Muslim and I believed that adulterers were stoned to death, the hands of thieves were amputated, homosexuals should be killed, etc. I couldn't care less about what people thought then so why should I care now.
Layth your a bloody tyrant (but i don't expect anything better from an Arab )), you can't quote that particular verse whenever you feel like it ignoring the fact that the punishment must never be worse then the crime.
9/97 The Arabs are very staunch in disbelief and hypocrisy. They do not regard the limits revealed by God to his messenger. And God is knowledgably and Judge. ignore (translated by Aidid Safar)
The Scripture has a complete
take-it or leave-itapproach...We either accept it all from God and try to uphold it, or we simply walk away rejecting the entire book because we disagree with some of its content.it is also like a jigsaw puzzle, make sure you take it all in full context.
What is your say...Do you uphold all or nothing?
yes all of it, i also so like to read it in full context too!
peace,

Layth, remember she is 17............. D don't take it to serious....

Sugarno Layth, to be honest there is NOTHING
coolabout ANY verse in the Quran. I don't read quran because I think it iscool, it is far from cool, not that I care . You can't quote THAT verse in ordinary circumstancesI think al-quraan is the coolest. I've read some human philosophy and find them grasping at the reality of the human being. Al-quraan's discourse comes with a voice so sure of reality (and this assurance is justified) that it could only come from Allah and that is pretty darned cool.
Layth your a bloody tyrant (but i don't expect anything better from an Arab ),
In the words of David Brent (The Office 11) That's racist!
9/97 The Arabs are very staunch in disbelief and hypocrisy. They do not regard the limits revealed by God to his messenger. And God is knowledgably and Judge. (translated by Aidid Safar)
Aidid Safar was wrong here. Al-a'raabu as mentioned in 9/97 is opposite to 'ahlul-madeenah' as with the context (you like reading in context, right ? ) of 9/120. The word 'araab' referring to the Arab people can be found in 41/44, 16/103 etc. Its Aarab not al-a'raab.

Layth, remember she is 17............. D don't take it to serious....
that does not give him the right to ignore me.
Arnold you still have not said how you would define "fighting in the cause of God"...

being a controversial multiple meaning scripture that leads to so much problems in it's interpretation is NOT COOL.
Layth your a bloody tyrant (but i don't expect anything better from an Arab ),
In the words of David Brent (The Office 11) That's racist!
I quoted from the Quran to justify my hostility towards the Arabs.
Layth quoted a highly controversial verse when Enquirer was off-topic. And he accused me of hypocrisy because i disagreed with the context he used it in.
Its Aarab not al-a'raab.
come off it! That is the best translation i have ever seen of that verse ignore
He even explained why he translated it like that in his book.
