i posted the following endnotes on 428 in another thread, pointing that these two verses are not contradictory consistent with God's assurance that there is no contradictions in the quran. when we think we find contradictions, the reason could be

1 - the translation we are reading is faulty; or

2 - our understanding of the verses is faulty; or

    3 - 1 and 2 above.

    the endnotes are as follows

004028 God created humans in an excellent design (327; 643; 827; 954), yet we humans may lower ourselves to the lowest level by following the teachings of devil (955). It is interesting to see the passive voice when degeneration of human nature is mentioned. The Quran does not say "we made humans weak," but it says, "humans were made weak." Thus, whenever our weakness, impatience, or pessimism is mentioned the passive voice is used
(428; 2137; 7019). Through this peculiar language, the Best Designer and the Ultimate Creator who created us in best design with freedom of choice, reminds us the negative impact of wrong choices on our excellent design. See 5722-23.

      peace,

When you quoted the root entry in Project Root List for Alif-Nun-Siin
      http//www.studyquran.co.uk/PRLonline.htm
      http//www.studyquran.co.uk/1_ALIF.htm

You did not quote all of it. You missed out the Lane's Lexicon pages on this root.

It is recommended to study all the entry not part of it before attempting to draw conclusions.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

We were created by none other than the god, so when the god says we were created weak, it was the god who created us weak.

Man was created weak at the time of his birth. It is made clear that when man is forced out from the womb of the mother he is weak both physically and intellectually since he at that point of time does not have knowledge of anything.

              Assalaam Alaikum

Allah did NOT create human's 'weak' in any sense of the word.

Allah doth wish to lighten your (difficulties). For man was created Weak (in flesh).

Yureedu Allahu an yukhaffifa AAankum wa khuliqa alinsanu daAAeefan

khuliqa (verb) (fa?il) alinsanu( doer of the action, subject) Genitive Construct

khuli(qa) masculine pronoun , means innate character, inborn disposition, to contrive, invent, devise, fabricate, attribute falsely; Root word Kalq meaning to create, mold, make, originate, shape, form,TO BE MOLDED, SHAPED OR FASHIONED FROM A PATTERN OR MODEL
Hans Wehr Arabic English Dictionary 4th Ed. Page 299 ? 300 (kalaqa)

              khuli(qa) is passive perfect means

An action performed at some point in the past. That action has continued up to the present moment at which we read this. It is an action that continues past the moment we read it. It is an action, which continues ? ? INFINITELY FOREVER. It is an action that CANNOT BE STOPPED! It is an UNSTOPPABLE, UNALTERABLE action.

Alinsanu(dammah, singular) means human being, man, somebody, one person, people; Root word anisa See Hans Wehr Arabic English Dictionary 4th Ed. Page 38-39 (anisa)

daAAeefan (feminine, indefinite, tanwin-fatah) means weak, feeble, weak minded, dim-witted, deficient, weak-sprited
Hans Wehr Arabic English Dictionary 4th Ed. Page 633 (da?ufa)

Allah states throughout the Quran that Allah is the 'Best of Creators', which implies and denotes that there are OTHER Creators competing with Allah.

The following verses illustrate this human behavior of competing with Allah by influencing Creation....

It is We Who have created you. why will you not witness the Truth?
Do you then see?- The (human Seed) that you throw out,-

              Afaraaytum ma tumnoona

Afaraaytum meaning to split, to do something unheard of, do an unprecedented thing

Tumnoona meaning emission, ejaculation of sperm;Root word Mana to emit ejaculate, to practice masturbation, to be afflicted, to suffer, to practice Onanism
Hans Wehr Arabic English Dictionary 4th Ed. Page 1088 (mana)

Gen 389 And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.

Hebrew 'Ownan {o-nawn'} root word 'aven {aw-ven'} from an unused root perhaps meaning properly, to pant (hence, to exert oneself, usually in vain, 1) trouble, wickedness, sorrow , a) trouble, sorrow, b) idolatry, c) trouble of iniquity, wickedness

Arrogant humans are attempting to 're create' other humans by doing things that are unheard of and misleading to other humans

Is it you who create it, or are We the Creators?

              Aantum takhluqoonahu am nahnu alkhaliqoona

Allah is also addressing those humans who attempt to redefine the environment.....

See you the seed that you sow in the ground?
Is it you that cause it to grow, or are We the Cause?

See you the water which you drink?
Do you bring it down (in rain) from the cloud or do We?

See you the Fire which you kindle?
Is it you who grow the tree which feeds the fire, or do We grow it?

                Peace be upon you all,

"insaan" and "jinn" are opposite polarities of the same thing. "al insaan" refers to the matter part of being, "al jinn" refers to the energy part of being. Energy and matter are opposite polarities of the same thing. One part is visible, the other is hidden(smokeless fire=energy).

Le_CoranNous avons certes cr?? l'homme dans la forme la plus parfaite.

This teaching is explaining to us that the human vessel was created with the best design, but initialy weak. Our superior design allows for us to climb to our superior potential, our divinity, but most of us want to remain only human. Just like a small child has the potential to be nobel prize winner for physics, you cant give a child physics problems to solve, you must grow the child...the child must mature/ripen. So must the human grow into her divine nature. The vessel is designed for its potential just like the childs brain is capable of being a math wizard, but initially it is "weak".

The entity doing the 'creating' in Sura Nisa 428 is majhool...unknown its NOT Allah, swt

Khuliqa al insanu....Insanu is the 'doer' of the verb khuliqa NOT Allah its in the Genitive Insan OWNS the Verb..and is applying the use of the verb

You are quite possibly correct...it may NOT be in the Genitive form.

                      The 'doer' is majhool....unknown....

Yet the Definite Noun 'Al Insanu' owns the verb and is 'applying' the verb Khuliqa to the subject/object of the ayah (Al Insan)

If you wish to refer to 'Al Insanu" as the 'substitute doer', so be it.

The point and focus of this ayah is that humans develop negative perceptions and lack emotional intelligence through their own efforts and influences.

Allah, swt is NOT creating humans 'weak' other humans are.

Whatever good, (O man!) happens to you, is from Allah; BUT WHATEVER EVIL HAPPENS TO YOU, IS FROM THY (OWN) SOUL. and We have sent you as an Messenger to (instruct) mankind. And enough is Allah for a witness.

Why is "weak" taken as defective? Aren't we weak in front of the tiny bacteria and virus? Aren't we weak in front of natural phenomenons? Most importantly, aren't we weak towards our own desires and egos? These desires and egos are not always bad. They are essential for our survival, but they have to be controlled in order not to interfer with the well survival of other humans and oue environment. And this is where god is helping us to be more effective, less destructive.

                          Assalaam Alaikum

                          @Samia

Allah, swt did NOT create humans weak again in any sense of the word in Sura Nisa 428. If we consider the previous ayahs, Allah is referring to our psychological 'predisposition' to respond to our 'desires' and the influences of others. (instead of Allah)

Allah wishes to make clear to you and to SHOW YOU THE SUNNA OF THOSE BEFORE YOU; and (He wishes to) turn to you (In Mercy). And Allah is All-knowing, All-wise.

Yureedu Allahu liyubayyina lakum wayahdiyakum SUNANA allatheena min qablikum wayatooba AAalaykum waAllahu AAaleemun hakeemun

Allah will is to Turn to you, but the WISH OF THOSE WHO FOLLOW THEIR LUSTS IS THAT YOU SHOULD TURN AWAY (from Him),- far, far away.

WaAllahu yureedu an yatooba AAalaykum wayureedu allatheena yattabiAAoona alshshahawati an tameeloo maylan AAatheeman

Khuliqa is also a passive perfect verb which denotes internal (psychological & spiritual) reference. Thus the following meanings would be appropriate and in context with Sura Nisa 428

innate character, inborn disposition, psychological & spiritual pattern

Allah, swt gives the Believer a clear understanding of the relevance of the word 'daaeefa' in the 'hadith' of Shu'aib,as.

? They said ?O? Shoaib!? ?Does your salah/Prayer orders you that we give up what our ancestors served or what we do with our wealth as we will. Surely you are tolerant, right-minded person?.

Shu'aib's people accepted his advice and warnings and even suggested he was 'tolerant and right-minded man'.

In the ayahs to following 11.87, Shu'aib conveys to his people his conviction, compassion and his faith in Allah's guidance.

Then.... now they dont understand Shu'aib,as and he is now considered 'weak minded, senseless and ignorant'

They said. "O Shu'aib! much of what you say we do not understand! In fact among us we see that you are weak minded / senseless / wainna lanaraka feena daAAeefan! Were it not for thy family, we should certainly have stoned you! for you have among us no great position!"

Qaloo ya shuAAaybu ma nafqahu katheeran mimma taqoolu wainna lanaraka feena daAAeefan walawla rahtuka larajamnaka wama anta AAalayna biAAazeezin

"And O my people! Do whatever you can. I will do (my part). Soon will you know who it is on whom descends the penalty of ignominy; and who is a liar! and watch you! for I too am watching with you!"

                          Note

daAAeefan (feminine, indefinite, tanwin-fatah) means weak, feeble, weak minded, dim-witted, deficient, weak-spirited Hans Wehr Arabic English Dictionary 4th Ed. Page 633 (da?ufa) (See Sura's Nisa 428 & Hud 11.91)
