But even in the verse 43, God already states that marrying one woman is the best.

    Salam diamantinehoneybunch,

RED The above rule strengthens that Sura (4.3) is a legal exception, an exemption ... and the general rule is "one wife", i.e. the general rule in Sura (3350)

    General Rule One wife - Sura (3350) (<a href="http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=9597268.msg335921#msg335921">Explanation</a&gt

Exception Sura (43) - Allow up to 4 wives for the benefits of an orphan.
On the condition, satisfy the following test, "fear test".

General Rule to Exception "..if you fear that you will not be just (to your wives)..." (43)
If fear or worry, back to the general rule in (3350), one wife!
one wife, despite for the benefits of an orphan (4129)(43).

It is also stated in Sura (4129)

"..you will never be able to be equal between wives, even if you should strive.." (4129)

Basically it means it will never be just to marry more than one and it is against Islam, UNLESS it can bring justice to the orphan and wives (lesser). It will bring more justice if they are able to benefit the orphan and at the same time, are able to be equal between their wives. It is only in this situation Allah made it lawful to marry more than one woman.

    Peace.

Why Allah refers the institution of marriage as an act of fornication?

Why it is related to the "Mushrikeen" (refer to <a href="http//quran.com/30/31-32">3031-32</a&gt and forbidden to the "Believers"?

      The fornicator
      shall not marry any
      but a fornicatress
      or idolatress <- Mushrikeen

      and (as for) the fornicatress
      none shall marry her
      but a fornicator
      or an idolater <- Mushrikeen

and it is forbidden to the believers.
      (<a href="http//quran.com/24/3">243</a&gt

      marry = fornication?

      (may also include the issue of <a href="http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=9603425.0">whether can marry a hadither</a> - <a href="http//quran.com/6/150">6150</a> + <a href="http//quran.com/40/4">404</a> + <a href="http//quran.com/30/31-32">3031-32</a&gt

        Fare thee well,

I rather be a disbeliever than the religion Israfeel is advocating. Rather hypothetically burn in Hell than obeying an imaginary god who does not even stand by his own opening verse. This projected god is not God. This is not the God Arabs call Allah.

        God bless you

          Peace,

3350 is not general rather an exception; note address to...

3350 O dear/you the prophet ... and daughters maternal aunts yours the ones whom migrated with you and lady believer (f/s) if she devotes self hers to the prophet if intended the prophet that he marry her exclusively to you from besides the believers hence know we what made obligatory we upon them in spouses theirs...

43 is not an exception rather general advisory ...

43 and if fear you that not do justice yeh in the orphans so marry yeh what lawful (i.e. of age, agree, etc.) for you from the gals paired/twos and three and group of four so if fear you that not do justice yeh so one (f/s) or what possess right hands/oaths/commitments (use context, those offered shelter/protection) yours such minimum that not oppress yeh

These are general commandment which also prohibit marrying two sisters; hence if not sisters OK to marry...

422 and not marry yeh whom married/had sex fathers yours from the gals except what hence passed surely it was/is immorality and abomination and an evil way 423 prohibited upon you mothers yours and daughters yours and sisters yours and father?s sisters yours and mother?s sisters yours daughters the brother and daughters the sister and mothers the ones whom nursed you and sisters yours from the nursing and mothers nisakum/gals yours and step daughters yours the ones whom in guardianship yours from nisakum/gals yours the ones whom entered you in them so if not were yeh entered you in them so not blame upon you and wives/cohabitants sons yours the ones from loins yours and that gathered yeh between the two sisters except what hence passed surely the god he is forgiver of merciful of

Why didn't you quote 3350 in its entirety...then there would not have been a need to ask the question.

            Peace Israfeel,

The entire verse concerns only the prophet.

              Peace brother.

General Rule as to Justice in Polygamy - No Justice

And you will never be able to be equal between wives <- No Justice. It is against Islam.

Not true. Allah has addressed the entire Quran to the Prophet (peace be upon him), does it mean the Quran is guidance only for the Prophet peace be upon him?

You have a very narrow and weak understanding of the Pure Quran.

then marry those that please you of women <- Exception

                  (43)

                  Salamun alaikum,

Not exception but command. For exceptions command verbs are not used. For advice, mood of verb is jussive; for discretion mood of verb is subjunctive.

Polygamy as a Custom of having many spouses for pleasure is not allowed in the Grand Qur'aan

The Pure Quran talks about having multiple wives (polygamy) as being normal

Permitted to you, on the night of the fasts, is the approach to your wives (2187)

But do not associate with your wives while ye are in retreat in the mosques (2187)

Your wives are as a tilth unto you (2223)

For those who take an oath for abstention from their wives, a waiting for four months is ordained (2226)

In what your wives leave, your share is a half (412)

And those who pray, "Our Lord! Grant unto us wives and offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes (2574)

**Why would Islam discourage polygamy when Muslims are taught by the Quran to pray for wives (plural)??

Allah has not made for any man two hearts in his (one) body nor has He made your wives whom ye divorce by Zihar your mothers (334)

Enter ye the Garden, ye and your wives, in (beauty and) rejoicing. (4370)

Erroneous way of reading texts. The pronoun for men is plural whereby the following word "wives" is plural. It denotes respective wife--respective wives if a man has married others to fulfill the obligation imposed upon him.

I've reported this post to the mods for being a personal attack. Hopefully they will ban this person.

Also like to make clear that the verse I quoted 334 is talking about man (Rajul) in the singular.

Looks like Hadith-rejectors when they can't answer with arguments resort to personal attacks. How sad.

                                  Salamun alaikum,

Try to find out what is a "legal exception/exemption".

                                  General Rule Exception
Forbidden to eat -> Can eat flesh of swine
                                  flesh of swine (Emergency)
                                  (2173) (2173)

                                  Cannot kill -> Can kill
                                  a person (War)
                                  (22.39)

                                  One wife -> Multiple wives
                                  (3350) (orphans)
                                  (43)

                                  and so on..

If fear of unjust to wives, Allah command for one wife, i.e. the reinstatement of the general rule in (3350), and even in the situation for the benefit of an orphan. One wife.

                                  Peace brother.

                                    Salaam Israfeel,

I didn't say that you were wrong about the verse 334.

But you used the verse to say that the verses (that contain the word women) you showed to Mazhar also talked to singular man.

You gave the verses that talked about WIVES. Then Mazhar responded to you that the verses talking about WIVES also used the plural PRONOUN (see what pronoun is, i.e. I, You, He, She, It, They, We) of man.

Then you responded to Mazhar only by using the verse 334 that uses singular NOUN of man to prove that a man is normal for having multiple wives.

You hope that I would be banned?
Why don't you yourself read your own posts that may make people hate Islam?
Because of people like you, Ali Sina and his buddies keep laughing at Islam.

You want me to get banned?
This forum is dedicated to God and study His scripture. This forum is a Qur'an-alone forum.
You are angry with my words now?

Why don't you re-read Mahar's response to your posts of verses that you higlighted in red the word wives?

Instead of wishing me to get banned, why don't you yourself read your posts that ridicule your own religion Islam and the Qur'an?
                                    You breach rule no 2.
I also have the right to report your posts that ridicule the Qur'an.

I apologize for the 'insults' but why don't you yourself understand why I used the words? But it is true that you try your best to twist God's words to suit polygamy-without-exception?

Anyway I was saying about your desires. Not yourself! Why are you even angry when I said such things? Why don't you look at countries like Afghanistan (some parts), Yemen, Mali, Saudi Arabia where women are treated like garbage because of male-dominated ideology?

                                    Regards,
                                    Yuliana

Wait, Isn't it even logical to use "their wife"?

In what your wives leave, your share is a half (412)

Wait, it is not logical to use "unto us wife" right?

Anyway, the phrase "Allah has not made for any man two hearts in his (one) body" has pwned and disproved your view on polygamy(polygamy-without-exception).

                                        salaam Yuliana

This is a very bad thing to say. I do not think that you realize or have realized the implications of what you have said. I think that you should immediately apologize to brother Israfeel. Do not generalize nor personalize! Continue your arguments constructively!

                                        salaam

I know that you support Israfeel's views.

You should read Israfeel's posts that make Islam look bad.

                                          Peace.

And DO NOT APPROACH unlawful sexual intercourse
Indeed, it is ever an immorality and is evil as a way.
                                          (<a href="http//quran.com/17/32">1732</a&gt

"Do not approach" adultery means deeper than the words "Do not commit" adultery. "Do not approach" means do not approach whatever that can leads to adultery. The difference between lawful and unlawful sexual intercourse is marriage; ie. lawful or unlawful marriage.

Therefore this will bring us to a new question, what is unlawful marriage according to the Qur'an?

Sura (3350) describes what is unlawful to the Believers; ie. unlawful marriage.

                                          (3350) = Unlawful marriage
                                          = Unlawful sexual intercourse
                                          = Adultery
                                          = "DO NOT APPROACH"
