    Peace.

Are you sure some of these things aren't fear of not being reckognized, of always having to function on a lower level, subsconsciously making you behave in a way, that will reject closeness to eventual persons, who are of "less intelligence" or really how I see it, disbelievers.

Do you feel the problem is as big with groups of believing people, and that posess intelligence, and/or with other groups?

Have you tried diciplined religious behaviour, and function well with that?

      Peace,

No Mr Deen, I don't consider myself more intelligent than other people. I just utilise my brain for my own unique interests.

When it comes to groups, the smaller the better. I guess it's because of the lack of being able to use body language or understand other people's body language that makes it hard for me to communicate.

And no, I don't seek to be different in any other way. It's better being different, n' est ce pas? ^^

      Peace.

It seems to me that you avoid the question of religious vs non-religous groups.

Body language, and the lack of being able to use it? Nobody "uses" body language. It is there, whether you like it or not. Body language is not a part of Islam.

Asperger syndrome has nothing to do with religion. It's a neurobiological disorder. I don't see any connection. However, from what I've noticed among other aspies, nearly all of us critically examine religion.

I usually don't bother about religion when in a group. I don't ask people about their religious background, since India's a very diverse country with many religions (Hinduism is an umbrella term for many Dharmaic faiths), not to mention hundreds of castes.

Anyway, like I said earlier, I was an atheist. I don't look down upon people with "lesser intelligence", I just believe that I'm good only at what I'm interested in. Nothing religious about it, but I do like studying religions.

          Peace.

It seems to have a strong connection to satan, if you ask me.

              I do apologise for the misunderstanding. We're uniquely gifted in our own ways, bad at everything else. ^^;;

For example, two other cousins of mine also have AS. One is a 3 yr old who can operate a computer (he can barely speak). He uses it to watch videos of Shahrukh Khan. xD

The other cousin of mine has a unique talent throught which he can imitate any song using his piano by hearing it just once. He's terrible at everything else. I'm also terrible at everything else which I'm not interested in. For example, my Mass Communication lecturer is the editor-in-chief of a newly launched magazine. He likes my writing skills and asked me to write an article on the Araku valley. I had gone there previously to study the local culture and landscape, and fell in love with the valley. I put my heart out into writing that article. He loved it. He asked me to write an article on the "two most happening events in the city, country, and world". 3 days have passed since my deadline and I've been unable to write a single word. brickwall

I imagine the same applies to eminent people with AS as well. Einstein, Newton, Hitler, Grandin, Beethoven, etc. Only good at what they're interested in. Einstein & Newton with physics, Hitler with politics, Grandin with animals, Beethoven with music.

              Peace.

                The Khan,

I think you should get a professional opinion. It could be that you exhibit all the signs of someone with Asperger's syndrome only because you've convinced your subconscious you have it. I'm not saying you don't; all I'm saying is you should go see a doctor before you conclude you have Asperger's syndrome. And go to at least two doctors. Forgive me if this sounds forward, but it could be that you want to have Asperger's syndrome because smart men like Einstein had it.

I was programming at the age of 8. Before that, I also had the talent of being able to almost immediately play on the livingroom keyboard/organ, melodies I had heard on the radio. And ability to perfom when expected, well, one can be inspired and not. This is all normal. It is not a sign of aspergers. It may be a sign of a child with blessings.

I talked to someone else who I later was told, had aspergers.
She was not able to understand certain culturual humour, and typically seemed to have a sexual undertone in almost everything she did. At times, she even claimed me to be her father, and that I had even raped her. She also claimed to be satan at some point, didn't see any wrong with claiming that, and often claimed religion was bad, without really seeming to think about the actual religion, but that someone who claimed to be religious, had treated her, by her opinion, badly. I think this was her father, but if she was a victim of paedophilia I don't know. She also seemed to be a compulsive liar, and made up quite a few stories about me, to other people, who where in this IRC channel, where I met her.

This ofcourse, is an illness. But I also see a strong connection to jinn here. She was very similar to the girl in my teens, where I went to school. She was always the class clown, and never serious. And always "in love" with someone, and probably a teacher, and making things embarrasing.

While this girl with aspergers, didn't act like her, she reminded me of her, in other ways. And it was typically that, of being an enemy to conservative religious values.
So yes, if aspergers is an illness, that would be a symptom. To be blessed, is ofcourse not an illness.

So, if we are to rule out whether this illness is mostly related to spirits, and can be remedied, or if it is phsyiological, and needs medification, or maybe even surgery, I asked you, have you tried strong religious morality, and behaviour, in your surroundings, and do you feel different about groups, if they are of strong belief or not.

In any case, you should try God alone, and Quran alone.
Aspergers to me, seems related to that of not being religious, or spirits, by my experiences.
And if you become firm in your belief, your consciousness of God, will increase. And that will, maybe, through time, totally annihilate this enemy spirit.

                  Peace

Yes, I have been diagnosed by a few psychologists and psychiatrists. Only one misdiagnosed me with Schizoid Personality Disorder. I even consulted a naturopath-psychologist.

As for Michael Fitzgerald's conclusion on Einstein, it's something I recently found out.

Wow, what a strange girl. No wonder you have this misconception on AS. I've come across all sorts of Aspies - Perverts, Communists, Anarchists, Feminists, Facists, Sexists, Homosexuals, etc. Aspies are just like all others, apart from the mentioned diagnosis. Paranoia is not part of AS.

It's possible that she's got post traumatic stress syndrome coexisting with her AS. Or maybe she has Schizoid Personality Disorder and was misdiagnosed with AS. God (swt) knows.

And please stop calling Autism as satanic... i find it rather annoying, thanks.

                    Peace.

I'm trying to tell you something, but apparently you are not listening. And again you avoid the issue of religiousity. A religious man would ofcourse be interested in religious dicipline.. What other than satanic can it be.. Maybe you're just here to laugh, and see the possiblity of gay sex, like certain others.

Btw, that aspergers girl, also was bisexual, or gay, but also as I said, a compulsive liar. She claimed to have a lesbian relationship though, and often advocated it, in the channel.

                        Dear akhee,

I'm also trying to tell you something. You are summarising AS as a disease caused due to posession of Jinns & the devil when it's a neurobiological disorder which begins from childbirth. Would you call dyslexia as posession by the devil? Dyspraxia? How about Downs syndrome? How about multiple scelerosis? Please don't mix religion with science.

                        Please think about it.

As for my sexual orientation, I'm perfectly straight. I find it very hard to lie. I'm a terrible liar. Online, however, I've never tried to do so.

I would refer this book to you, please read it before jumping to conclusions http//www.amazon.com/Genius-Genes-Asperger-Talents-Changed/dp/1931282447

These are videos of Temple Grandin, the most famous aspie alive today. Her gift is the ability to understand the function of an animal's brain, particularly cattle.

Honestly akhee, nobody would like being told that they're posessed by the devil and jinns.

                        Peace.

                            Salam The Khan

Thanks Aaron, that's the question I was asking to the Khan. Have you (the Khan) been officially diagnosed by a psychiatrist? I am asking because I have taken many such tests online in response to other people jokingly asking me if I am an aspie. My results varied from 'definitely aspie' to 'neurotypical, but with significant aspie characteristics.' The problem with these tests is that they can very easily confuse social awkwardness and mechanical interests with Asperger's.

A lot of people without the disorder self diagnose with Asperger's and this hurts the people who truly have the disorder.

hey the khan i don't recall seeing your reply to sarah's question about whether you were officially diagnosed with asperger's syndrome by a medical professional.

I agree for the most part. However, not everyone who takes those online tests for Asperger's ends up self diagnosing themselves as Aspies
Those people who have mostly verbal interests and are well adjusted socially almost always test as being neurotypical. It's mostly those with some social awkwardness who get false positives for Asperger's.

Why exactly are we arguing whether he has a certain disease or not. He might be faking it , he might have been falsely diagnosed, he might be right! What difference does it make to us?

the problem is just what I said earlier, it hurts those people who truly have the disorder by giving other people a false idea of what Asperger's syndrome is really like, much the same way terrorists who claim to be muslim hurt moderate muslim people by giving non-Muslim people the false idea that 'all Muslims are terrorists.'

This false idea makes no difference to you since you don't have Asperger's much the same away that the misconception of Muslims as terrorists makes no difference to non-Muslims since they are not Muslim

lol@ arguing... oh yeah it's freeminds forum, where everything is an argument, right?

anyways my point is that there are thousands of people, perhaps millions, i don't know... on the internet, claiming to have asperger's syndrome... and i would be willing to wager that of these with the claim very few actually have such a syndrome, if such a syndrome even exists... many of the examples i have seen have something alot deeper than a mild autism wrong with them and i see alot of people excuse behaviour using this syndrome as a basis... that's all, i wanted to see how much weight there was to the khan's claim

for once, what you said is something I agree with, for the most part. I actually know a boy in my class who has Asperger's and believe me, it goes beyond socially awkward behaviour. He actually is officially diagnosed with Asperger's. Asperger's exists. Just a lot of people on the internet, like you said, don't have it.

                                          Peace,

Yes, I have been diagnosed. I've mentioned it a couple or so times in this thread.

Anyway, this is my farewell post. I'm considering becoming a member of the Baha'i faith.

Btw, Mr Deen has added me on facebook. If anyone's interested, you may add me through him.

                                          Peace.
