    Why do we lack character
My question is why do we lack character when we have with us a forceful mechanism of social control to ward off evil. We often recite " Prayer Keeps us away from Indecency and Evil. I add to it a few more verses from the book of Allah saying

    1. Worship Allah (221) so that you may ward off evil
    2. Uphold strongly what has been given and remember its contents (263, 7171)
so that you may ward off evil
    3. Observe Law of equivalence (2179) so that you ward off evil
    4. Fast during Ramadan (3183) so that you may ward off evil
    5. Do not touch the orphans' money except in the most righteous manner, until they reach maturity. Give full weight and full measure when you trade, equitably. Be absolutely just when you bear witness, even against your relatives.. Fulfill your covenant with God. ( 6152-153) so that you may ward off evil. laAAallakum tattaqoona
The question is do we ever keep this objective in mind when offering Salat or perfoming other functions? My observation is NO, NEVER, NOT AT ALL.
There is not a word to this effect in he liturgy of our saum-o-salat and frame work of other rituals. I have yet to see a supplication attached to any form of worship seeking abstention from indecency and evil. We only seek forgiveness for the crimes we commit. How then we expect to develop the quality of escaping indecency and evil when we neither wish nor intend and never pray for it.? The result is we are all good save lack of moral character.
Who has distracted us from the right path? and when shall we revert? Please do comment.

      Dear Muhammad

We are abducted away from Quran and corrupted by the satanic elements that follow the hadith that had infected lthe world. Stay away from it and stick to Quran and Allah for Guidance. This is the only way. Shun the satanic hadiths and stay away from every practice of them; yes from all of their rituals conducted by the mullahs from the mosque of Mecca, to your local street mosques, and up to your homes. Practice to a great extent possible of what you understand from your own and original Reading! This is the only acceptable prayer!

        Salaam latif,

There are thousands of reasons but I will give just two reasons why? You know there are so many

        1. Many people those traditional believe that by uttering before death the following words " la ilaha illa Allah Muhammad Rasulullah" they will enter paradise!
        2. When you go to hajj all your sins are forgiven

I know many 90% in our community believe that.

Just imagine having that belief, what prevents somebody from doing bad?

        God bless you

        Hati

            Dear
            The height of characterlessness is
            -We preach something
            -We practice another thing.
            For example we see that
            -We preach Quran alone
            -We practice Sunni rituals
What name you will give to this character ???
            Regards

                  Salaam Q_student,

Can you please define Sunni rituals. You have used this term quite a few times on the forum. What do you mean by this?

I also have another question, but to be honest, seeing as you have failed to reply to a single question of mine, I don't have much faith in getting answers to both questions.

                  Here goes

                  The quran says

Surah Number 2, Ayah Number 172
Believers, eat of the good with which We have provided you and give thanks to Allah, if you really worship Him.

I follow these rules for my eating

                  http//www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/customs/behaviourfood.html

Does this mean I preach quran alone, but practice is 'woodlands junior kent school' rituals?

                  Any response would be appreciated.

                  Regards

                    salaam Brother
Sunni rituals means any thing which Sunni do as "ibaadah" which is not mentioned in the Quran but proved through "Hadeeths". E.g
Are Sunni's not mushriks ? We should not go to their mosques and pray those imams. Should we celebrate Eids which are Hadeeth based ?
Is salaat of Sunnis Quran proven ?
Sunnis are different community and we are different.
                    Regards

                          Brother,

In Quran there are only glad tidings and warnings of its consequences if you reject the message. Rule or Ritual both are same for the reason that those who follow or lead life in this way, means they do not understand and naturally conducted in righteousness but by influence and force which is antagonistic to the very essence of Islam. The way we see the ayats in Quran as rules and regulations is not the way to see it.

Surah Number 2, Ayah Number 172
Believers, eat of the good with which We have provided you and give thanks to Allah, if you really worship Him.

There are a few questions we shall get clarified before we could naturally be conducted as our hearts become actualized to the glad tidings of the verse. Unless we ponder over the ayats this is not possible.

                          1. What does 'believers' mean?
                          2. Eat of the good we have provided means from the good God had provided something we can eat and most things we could give away; Or most things of the good we can use and some of it we can provide for others' benefit and use.
                          3. How do we know out of that we possess what was provided by God and which was earned by us?
                          4. What to do if nothing is given to by God, for what I earn in business has its inherent lies, cheating, and hypocrisy involved in it?
                          5. When I know that whatever I had earned is by bad means and with shirk, what am I to do for eating?
                          6. How to thank Allah?
                          7. What is thanks?
                          1. What is worshiping?
                          1. What is really worshiping?
                          2. And where is Allah? And How we see or recognize Him?

Just answer these if you want to be sure that you actually follow Allah and not following the unsightly rituals and rites and rules and regulations that is not at all Islam.

                          Peace,

                          .

                            Salaam,

                            Thanks for reply,

Exactly, now let's extend that concept to salat. Focus on achieving the main purpose. Rememberance of God. If this is achieved through any method of salat then that is fine. There is no right and wrong if the main purpose is achieved. And there is no hypocrisy as stated earlier in the thread.

That was the reason for the first question.

                            Regards

                              Peace Ramzi,

The sunni ritual of salaat also includes pagan elements and setting up partners with The God, for example facing a cuboid pagan temple dedicated to the female goddess Allat, bowing and prostrating to it, remembering humans in addition to The God during it, etc. Hence calling oneself God alone and then practicing the sunni ritual of salaat is indeed hypocrisy. If you don't include those elements in your salaat then it is not a sunni ritual anymore, and I agree there is then no hypocrisy as long as the main purpose of salaat is fulfilled (remembering The God, reading and understanding the qur'aan so that we can follow it in life, avoiding lewdness and evil, showing humility and submission to The God etc.), even though there might be some physical variations.

Surah Number 2, Ayah Number 172
Believers, eat of the good with which We have provided you and give thanks to Allah, if you really worship Him.

I follow these rules for my eating

                                      http//www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/customs/behaviourfood.html

Does this mean I preach quran alone, but practice is 'woodlands junior kent school' rituals?

                                      Salaam Ramzi

If the link you provide contains an element that could be meant to be "thanking God", then you are following the quraanic rule.

                                        Salaam Samia,

                                        Yes, you are right.

Also, it should not contain any rules contradictory to qura'an. For example, always eat a pork pie before eating your main course P

Let's say it does contain that silly rule. One can still follow them but ignore that rule, because it is contradictory to quranic teachings.

The same concept with salat, one can follow the traditional method, but not mention any names other than God, and not speak too quietly nor too loudly and so on. As these rules in the traditional salat contradict quran clearly.

                                        Regards

Not exactly the same. The salaat per quraan has a purpose. If whatever you are doing does not fulfill the purpose, then it's unquraanc. However, if you keep away from evil, the unaccepted/unlawful and injustice or ( ), even without ritualistic salaat, then your ritualistic salat is not what keeps you from this evil, but what keeps you from this evil is another thing, the real salaat. So at best ritualistic salaat is redundant.
