Is ablution dangerous to health?
-
Maybe I've missed something, but who said anything about doing ablution after going to the toilet or using the hands to clean the areas discussed or not drying hands after?
Furthermore, when it mentions the use of clean/dry soil, it does not reference touching any area used when going to the toilet.
So perhaps rather than focussing on made-up scenarios, why not find out if the alleged scenario exists first?
In any case, from my own studies, most germs are harmless, and some are beneficial. Of course, minority can cause problems.
Well if you where or ever have been a traditional Muslim you would know going to the toilet is the first step in doing wudu, and if you release air after wards you need to wash it again as some matter might have been expelled out aswell.
and doesn't the ayah in the quran - to do with wudu mention washing it after you have been to the toilet, and then you wash the other parts step by step to complete the wudu
yes

Ahh, I thought we were discussing what Al Quran (AQ) says not what Traditional Muslims practice.

Evidence from AQ?
O ye who believe! when ye prepare for prayer, wash your faces, and your hands (and arms) to the elbows; Rub your heads (with water); and (wash) your feet to the ankles. If ye are in a state of ceremonial impurity, bathe your whole body. But if ye are ill, or on a journey, or one of you cometh from offices of nature, or ye have been in contact with women, and ye find no water, then take for yourselves clean sand or earth, and rub therewith your faces and hands, Allah doth not wish to place you in a difficulty, but to make you clean, and to complete his favour to you, that ye may be grateful.
well if you follow fhe quran- yes you are right, you don't have to gurgle your mouth and clean your nose, but you do still get the beacteria all over you!, and think if you get up in the morning for what ever form of salaat and follow the procedure in this ayah, no doubt whether you agree or not, nearly every individual will gurgle their mouths and clean their noses also don't you think- especially when you live in places like Pakistan where their is always something up your nose, I mean dirt and things.
B bacteria are nasty things and just being careful with hygiene can safeguard people in any country of the world. If any individual has undertaken a health course of hygiene they will certainly know as well. It is essential to wash your hands with soap after using the loo.
It is interesting though most people , say for example the Hindus will not give up thinking cow urine and excretion as holy, irrespective of how strong an evidence you put on the table, the Muslim are like minded also. peace

Dont clean too much, not all bacterias are harmful or nasty,
your stomach still needs them.Intestinal Bacteria Replacement
Inside a healthy lower intestine are billions of beneficial intestinal bacteria or microflora. These bacteria are of the Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus bifidus strains and were transferred by breast-feeding into our intestines as newborn infants. The body uses L. acidophilus and L. bifidus in the final stages of digestion reproducing themselves as necessary to keep in total harmony with the body.
When the good bacteria can?t keep up, bad bacteria overpopulate the gut to give a gut flora imbalance resulting in lower bowel diseases, gas, diarrhea, IBS, and Crohn?s. The devitalizing effect caused by harmful bacteria in the intestine is rarely diagnosed near the beginning of this imbalance. Headaches, skin infections, weakness and constipation can also be symptoms of depleted intestinal bacteria.
What Causes A Gut Flora Imbalance?
? Toxins, especially drugs such as antibiotics and narcotics
? Severe diarrhea can damage or destroy these beneficial bacteria, allowing harmful bacteria to take over producing by-products like ammonia, purines and ethionine, which can eventually cause colon cancer.
? Fasting can also deplete the beneficial bacteria because large quantities of toxins are dumped from the lymph glands into the colon at the time of the fast.
? Also during a fast, with certain diets and with eating disorders, there is an absence of foods that the good bacteria thrive on.
? Using enemas also depletes the beneficial bacteria, especially if chlorinated water is used.To reestablish intestinal bacteria, do a couple enemas with liquid acidophilus or live acidophilus. These products should be stored and purchased refrigerated. Off-the-shelf products are not so effective for replacing gut flora. You can also mix a couple tablespoons of active plain yogurt to your enema mix along with a tablespoon of the liquid acidophilus. Add some warm water, but do not heat the mixture or use chlorinated water. After blending the mixture, pour it into the enema bag. Use less water for these types of enemas (only 1-2 cups) and try to retain the liquid within the colon for ten minutes to allow the beneficial bacteria to pass up through the intestine. This procedure will ensure that a healthy culture will propagate within the intestines.
You can also start adding L. acidophilus and L. bifidus to your foods a day or two before you break a fast. Use repeat dosages as per bottle instructions once a week for about 5 weeks.
FOS (Fructooligosaccharides) are also good for reestablishing gut flora. These are long-chain sugars that feed friendly flora. You can purchase this in concentrated pill form or eat lots of apples, Jerusalem artichokes, or pears. These foods have high amounts of FOS in them.

Correct. Making your earlier comments invalid for anyone following AQ.

Go post your findings on a Traditional Muslim forum then. Your comments are invalid for anyone following AQ.

As a side note, one of the best ways to increase the good bacteria in your gut is to include fermented/cultured vegetables in your diet. In fact, I am so confident about their benefits that if you have a gut/digestive problem or know of anyone who has, then this is a must, and will likely result in lessening and perhaps even curing the condition. I discussed the whole thing here with a practical introduction along with a "how to" guide

Correct. Making your earlier comments invalid for anyone following AQ.I think most of the people following AQ, still do wudu like the traditionalists, so doesn't become invalid to them.
Evidence from AQ?
quranic Wudu;-

Of course. ;D
In otherwords, your comments are invalid for AQ, valid for Traditional.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. As I said "your comments are invalid for AQ, valid for Traditional.".

Yes, indeed, it is very dangerous... My father who died at age 83 lived in danger. My grandfather who died at age 90+ too lived in daily danger. I have been too living with danger all my life. Indeed ablution is very dangerous it is perhaps the cause of cancer, obesity and many other ailments.
We all need to use germ-killing soups. Our immunity system needs it.
Peace,
Edip -
People probably had much better immune systems back then. Also it explains why putting water in your mouth and nose is not part
of wudu.Personally I think we are taking this "kill all bacteria" movement to far. All of these reports are funded by companies
who most likely have a vested interests. We know that kids exposed to germs and bacteria grow up with much stronger immune systems. As they say
what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.Thats only if it doesnt kill you...
Also, I think people need to realize that most sunni/shias abide by the left hand for "bad things" and right hand for "good things" rule. When you go to the toiler you use your left hand, when you eat you use your right hand. This worked well for them, but now it really doesnt. Take a computer keyboard for example. Germs spread all over it and if you touch keys that the left hand has touched, your screwed. I hope you enjoy fecal matter on your fingertips.
I know some people that even now dont use soaps because according to them the prophet didnt use them when washing. (I kid you not) Then the same people get up the next morning and drive to work in their cars. (Which OFCOURSE the prophet used)
-
Thats only if it doesnt kill you...
Or make you ill!
I know some people that even now dont use soaps because according to them the prophet didnt use them when washing.
That is just disgusting! I thought using miswak instead of a toothbrush and toothpaste to clean their teeth was bad enough!
-
I have an aunt who refuses to wash dishes using soap. Needless to say, I never eat when I go to her house. Theres people I know that don't play certain sports because it's not "sunnah." On the other hand, it seems that having an AK-47 in your home is! rotfl

Definitely Yes pr Only god knows how many times I almost froze to death having had to have an Ablution/Shower in the middle of winter in some god forsaken hinterland town with the temperature well below zero nope . This was back in the days of my ignorance of the Qur'an and my naivety in following the cursed Tablighi Jama'ah ;D . Now Free from Mental Shirk hail .
