So is everyone on here, Muslim, Christian or Jew. Unfortunately there are some people that have taken the Baptist form of Christianity to an extreme and believe that Jesus is God or, with some of them, above God. This idea is, of course, blasphemy.

hail ing jesus is blasphemy! yes

          Salam everyone,
          So heres my story...
My family weren't always strictly Sunni. We are originally from a country that wasn't too strict and we lived in an area in England that was mostly white. We then moved to a different city which is very multicultural, the complete opposite to where we lived. As we didnt have a permanent visa, I was still studying the arabic curriculum so that I could continue my education if we had to go back to our country. So my dad found an arabic school, and I started going there in the evenings. That was where the brainwashing began (OK I'm exaggerating a little).
The boys were split from the girls and us girls had to wear a headscarf. Then the headmistress told us that (newsflash! this is just in...) the prophet Mohammed likes the colour white, so we have to wear white headscarves as it is bad to wear black. If we don't wear white then we'd get into trouble. My mum didnt have a single white headscarf so I wore a light grey one instead but that wasn't allowed either and I had to report to the headmistress the next day. To avoid getting into trouble, I started going to that school wearing a headscarf made out of a white polyester shirt.
I carried on going to that school for 4 years, with a white scarf that my relatives sent me from abroad, where most of the curriculum involved memorising the Quran without even studying it, and memorising that same amount of hadiths. Some were over a page long and most sounded like A said that he heard B say that he heard C say that he heard D... said that he heard Z say that he heard the Prophet Mohammed say ...) Funny story, when I was in year 5 I think, we had to learn a hadith about how a man has to wash after he ejaculates! I didnt even know what it meant! My mum said its when a man passes a liquid. I was like, is it pee? And she said no. My mum and older sister were in hysterics and I was like ??? So there I was memorising a hadith that I didnt even know its meaning!
My mum later started teaching there so (unfortunately) she got to meet all the (not so) lovely teachers there. When I had just turned 10, one of them who became friends with my mum, told her to make me wear a headscarf. My mum showed me a passage form Surat alNisa and as I was only 10 I believed that i had to cover my head as I might die tomorrow and go to Hell! The next day a lot of kids at the English school asked me about it and it made me feel uncomfortable so I went home and told my mum that I dont want to wear it anymore, and she told me that its too late because I've already started wearing it and can't remove it. I carried on wearing it, and I still do, and my sister was later forced to wearing it too. She then told me that that the Quran doesn't tell us to and that it is actually a Jewish tradition. She had printed off an article about hijab from submission.org and I did my research around that site and that was when everything started to make sense. That God wouldnt want us to be unhappy, contrary to the unhappiness I experienced since I was 10.
But alhamdulilah I'm on the right path now and I am learning new things each day.
Ermmm thats it but if you need to know anything just ask or pm me.
          Salam

          HAHAHA! Seiously?! rotfl rotfl

And I'm glad you or your sister ran into sub.org. I did too and actually read some verses in the Quran I never knew about.

              ......wtf...............

You're right, there ARE a bunch of articles on Free Minds! Sweet and damn at the same time and here's why laugh

I love reading articles like those but I thought I was almost done with this hadith nonsense! '( and traditional Islam etc. I was hoping to go back to my wasteful although very fun video game playing. Now that I know there are more interesting and informative articles to read, I can't reject back to my hadith studying

Dude...that is one of the worst insults you can give me whatever

nah jk. Who knows what this guy's intentions were...and what he thought was "moral" and "upright" rotfl All I know is, his as well as many other people's hadith are WAAAAAAAY more like the Christian and Jewish (manipulated) scriptures and very much UNLIKE the Quran, which God condemns anyway (the alleged hadith of Muhammad). The use of "hadith" and "sunna" in the Quran ALONE suffices as proof of this.

That is a very narrow view. Of course there is middle ground.

I am a Christian NOT a muslim or Jewish. Yeshua's Spirit lives in me, so do not mock what you do not understand. You cannot come to the Father unless you go though Jesus. I am not going to talk about this anymore. I am getting of here now as my man wants me to. but I wish you all well. In Christ Leanne
