Beating wife theory is negated by Qur'aan=4:34

Peace,
In marriage, a women must obey her husband in all marital issues in exchange to the gift and caretaking done by the husband. He has the upper hand.
of course a woman must obey her husband, how can you go against the one who is feeding you? that would be unethical. husband surely has the upper hand and UPPERposition plus two hands of his wife as well. and if after all the scaretaking a husband fears nushuz he has god given right to beat her wife elhamdulillah. god knows better, we do not.

With such an understanding, anybody feeding another has the right to beat them up if they do not "obey" them, but in the end, you cannot beat someone who is stronger than you. This means that this remedy goes only for the strong against the weak, and weaker, older husbands and husbands who are sick and/or with disabilities are deprived of this "God-given right". Same goes to wives a stronger richer wife, a wife whose father or a relative is a man of authority, a gangster or just one who is ready to hire a gangster to revenge for his dughter/sister/relative/friend cannot be beaten up. And what shall we end up with? The stronger spouse beating up the helpless one....and you call this a God-given right? No, this is "domestic violence", not a godly right given to a violent, unkind arrogant person who commands the weaker to "obey" them.

What if the wife was feeding the husband? ;D

In that case, if I was responsible for my old grandma I will beat her up and she can't do anything about it because I am feeding her )
Take a look at your own mother. Will you be happy if your dad beat her up simply because he was afraid?
Are you married? I hope not. I hope you never do until you realise the worth of a woman. -

Might as well apply the same thing to other family members.
Like you said...

I am now going to feed my old crippled grandma and if she disobeys me I will beat her with a stick.

if your old crippled grandma is your nushuzed wife then go ahead.

It is the overall teaching. Like you said (once again)...
you are jealous that god has given us the right to beat up nushuzed wives. well, no one can question god he knows better we do not.

The "Nashooz" is not simply "disobedience".It has three elements in it.- ( 2 / 429)
1Hatred for the Husband
2Disobedience
3She is inclined to someone other than husband"Nashooz" is a sort of complete betrayal on the part of wife and not simple "disobedience " as it is being portrayed.
