Is the fire of Hell allegorical?
-
Good point. I'm kind of leaning towards the allegory view. When I think about it, it just seems right to me. I think that what Hell really is is perhaps a distance from God or something similar. But, no matter what it is it's a bad place to be.
Peace
Recently I've been thinking that Hell is a feeling/ emotion but in the Quran God says that everyone will see Hell so it is definitely a place and a very bad one too.
God bless

Good post but simply not the truth. They say its allegorical because it is very harsh.
How do you know? Have you been there?
-
Peace,
Do you have any evidence its not literal??? The description is so detailed that the allegory is meaningless.
Peace,
Rami
Did I say that it's not to be taken literally?

I am just responding to the 'Hell is a dream' frenzy.
You were adressing my post. If you didnt want to do that then you shouldnt have adressed it. I never wrote that it is all allegorical.

For someone from the poles, "hell" is not that painful.
But again saying it's allegorical does not necessarily mean it is less painful. Just as saying the description of paradise is allegorical does not mean it's less amusing paradise maybe far more beautiful and hell far more painful, but we cannot imagine them except through descriptions of things we know. Some people commit suicide by burning themselves surely they find fire less painful than the "hell" they are living, yet we cannot imagine what "hell" makes them burn themselves.Right.
