Peace all, I would like to start by saying this is not a joke, although as in most cases I do retain my sense of humor!

My question is, has anyone been choked by unseen forces either while asleep or awake before? Every once in while this happens to me in my sleep, last night being the first time in many months. It usually happens like this, in my dream I am doing some random thing where I happen across 'Satan', although I can never see him/it/whatever in my dream, I know it is there - kinda hard to explain, like a 'sense' it's there but I'm 100% sure. Anyway, whenever this happens the unseen force begins to choke me, and as I start to praise God it releases and I spring awake. This has happened to me on various occasions throughout the years (but not often), but I have learned by remaining calm and praising God devoutly, I almost seem to 'choke it back' in my dream and it releases and quickly disappears.

Anyway, was doing some research on it and most doctors agree that it is a sleep apnea of sorts, but it only happens to me once in a blue moon (usually, if not always when I'm trying to get closer to God in my life and/or trying to do a lot of good deeds), and sleep apnea is usually (but not always) reserved for those who are overweight. Since the latter is not the case for me, I'm guessing it is some kind of disgruntled SatanDemonChildSpawnMolestor or something that simply isn't powerful enough to exert any real harm, because ironically when this happens I actually end up remembering God more, which I honestly do like.

So anyway, has anyone ever had any similar experiences? It is not limited to my current residence, so I will quickly discount the "your house is haunted by the Indian spirit of an angry chief...or is it chef?". But seriously, I've always loved the paranormal so I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else here?

    Peace peace

    Ali

      Yep

I had sleep paralysis and what they call a hypnogogic hallucination or something like that. Some people call it 'the old hag' as many people report seeing an old witch-like lady strangling them. some see aliens. I used to see dark spirit-like beings coming towards me and stopping me from breathing and squashing my brain (well that's what it feels like), they go back then come back again over and over again till I wake up.
There isn't much medical explanation. They say that you wake up before your body does and the feeling of being unable to breath is sleep apnea.
I think there is something beyond what the doctors know. There is some place our minds go when we're asleep that the doctors don't understand.

Cool, thanks for the reply! I'm not at all unconvinced that there may be a truly legitimate medical explanation such as sleep paralysis, or something that we simply do not fully understand yet. Either way, if it happens, try remaining calm and praising God, it actually works. My 'episodes' used to last a lot longer until I started doing that. Even still, it only happens a couple of times a year at best, but have become far less intense since I started doing that! peace

Thank God mine have stopped. I used to get it a lot!
Try sleeping on your side instead of on your back. That helped for me.

                        Peace,
                        Respectfully.

I have experienced sleep paralysis myself in San Francisco, i mean, while asleep.

I was sleeping and then i heard the canteen lady calling us to breakfast - which is real - but i could only feel my dead body. I felt like i was in jail of my body, i could move inside but not outside of it. I felt like i wa sa different being and could not move even my eyelids.
In two, three seconds i did wake up and started breathing heavily.

                        The feeling was amazing.
                        Peace.
