My question is, has anyone been choked by unseen forces either while asleep or awake before? Every once in while this happens to me in my sleep, last night being the first time in many months. It usually happens like this, in my dream I am doing some random thing where I happen across 'Satan', although I can never see him/it/whatever in my dream, I know it is there - kinda hard to explain, like a 'sense' it's there but I'm 100% sure. Anyway, whenever this happens the unseen force begins to choke me, and as I start to praise God it releases and I spring awake. This has happened to me on various occasions throughout the years (but not often), but I have learned by remaining calm and praising God devoutly, I almost seem to 'choke it back' in my dream and it releases and quickly disappears.
I had it almost often enough that i learned to just wait as you do. Can't breath--can't move anything, not even a fingertip. Can't help but thinking of God rapidly at such times... "A`udzu billah"... "Astaghfirullah" ... Really conscious aren't we, when it happens? I think you're right, it's the best we can do at the moment. Be calm and remember God and just wait. (Not that there is ANYTHING else we can do) hypno <-- like this but with eyelids almost closed
Do you guys have your eyelids partly-opened (only very slightly in my case) too? In my last 'session', there was some kind of dark shadow(s?) around me (or my very slight vision), but maybe that's just my eyes not ready to catch up with my mind. It happened when i was sleeping on my side by the way.
And boy will you appreciate God's given A-I-R when you're free at last!!! ALHAMDULILLAH...! pr
Memory of such incident usually evaporates quickly, unless i actually take note of what happened. I usually don't remember my past 'sessions' until the next one happens. Funnily, sometimes i was just too sleepy that i quickly fell back to sleep again and then have another longer 'session' shortly after. Then i'd have to force myself to sit or stand up for some time...
Peace

Yea i don't think "being choked" is not enough to describe it. It's as though you can still move while not able to breathe.
Selam
Besides being choked does anyone know why in your sleep you try to call for help but feel you are held down and can't move? Used to get this a lot when I was younger.

So it has something to do with being young? D

I recornise the little demon from my dreams laugh Thats the one that was on me and I could not move. laugh
Actually there is a saying that if you manage to grab the hat off the demon on you, you can bargain with him for treasure. Its an old wifes tail we used to hear when young by our grandparents. Never could get that hat though laughpeace

(See old hag syndrome)
Mine was like the dementors from Harry Potter. Just a black shadow that moved towards me... tightens my chest... crushes my brain. Then goes back and does it all over again &
