    Peace Brother
    I do not know.
I like fish a lot but have left it for the last 5 years thinking that it is dead meat (maitah) or Strangled one.
That is why I am asking From Quran experts.
    Regards

If this would help, the Quran tell us the Prophet Moses used to eat Fish

    1862
    1863

1862 And when they passed further on, he said to his youth Bring us our lunch; we have found much fatigue in this journey of ours.
1863 He said Do you remember when we rested upon the rock? I forgot the fish, and it was the devil who made me forget to remember it. It made its way back to the sea amazingly!

I hope now you can go back and enjoy eating the tasty sea food that our Lord created for us to enjoy.

      Peace
Again, do not exaggerate in the Deen, what comes from the sea is lawful to eat, so you can eat it, raw, cooked, whatever.
Now as anything use common knowledge, maybe the water is contaminated, so you risk poisoning... you might be allergic to shellfish like my mother was... do not eat rotten fish... the food from the sea is better eaten fresh, so keep it refrigerated or frozen, and not longer than advisable, etc.

I was not expecting at least from you to avoid my question of "how to kill halaal animals for eating puposes"
If you do not have answer which I guess you do not, there is no need for wasting time anymore.

          Peace,
The best known way that was old practiced by Jews (Kosher slaughter ) and then by Christian and Moslem is to do the following

The slaughter should be performed by a specially trained person

The knife should be long (16 inches for cattle and other large animals and 12 inches for sheep) and razor-sharp and should be used to slaughter the animal in a single, unbroken move

The knife should be inspected by the slaughter person for sharpness and damage before every animal is slaughtered

A blessing should be given before entering the kill floor

The oesophagus, trachea, jugular veins and carotid arteries should be cut without damaging the spinal marrow

The blood should be totally drained

If predators by land are not allowed to eat than logically the same is for seahunter we should look what is meant by catch of the sea in surat bacara.

Does it mention anything from the sea that is prohibited?

What about chicken? Don't they eat worms and centipedes etc? Doesn't that make them predators? Is chicken prohibited then?

              Peace

No, but it does not mention that everything from sea is eatable.

                  596
Lawful for you is the catch of the sea, to eat it as enjoyment for you and for those who travel; and unlawful for you is the catch of the land as long as you are under restriction; and be aware of God to whom you will be gathered.

This is the FM-Translation with a missinng word after catch of the sea "wa taamahu"

If everything from sea is allowed then there would be no distinction from" catch of the sea and his food "

So what does "saydul bahr" mean?

I prefer to believe that wild sea animals which we take/catch (and also wild fishes from lakes and rivers) are lawful to eat.

Ever slaughter fishes? Not too much blood coming out, so it's not as scary as slaughtering the animals that live on land.

However, to be honest, I don't support the brutal dolphin hunts. Dolphins are sweet and friendly animals, so I prefer to not eat them.

                        Salm.

                          Salam mmkhan,

To understand 6145 you had to post it together with 51"O you who believe, honor your contracts. Made lawful for you are the animals of the livestock, except that which is being recited to you. You are not permitted to hunt the game while you are under restriction. God decrees as He pleases."

So grazing animals are lawful except that which is beeing recited in 6145"Yusuf Ali Say "I find not in the message received by me by inspiration any (meat) forbidden to be eaten by one who wishes to eat it, unless it be dead meat, or blood poured forth, or the flesh of swine,- for it is an abomination - or, what is impious, (meat) on which a name has been invoked, other than Allah's". But (even so), if a person is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits,- thy Lord is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful."

So every grazing animals are lawful but not the following of 6145 dead animals or blood poured forth(every animal that is bleeding when you cut its vens)...every big fish which is splashing blood falls under this category..

Watch Videos of Tuna fishing and you'll see how much blood is coming out of a 600pound of fish.

Yes, this is an important distinction.

Also, I was thinking... why is it mentioned "blood poured forth" and not just "blood"? Why the distinction "poured forth"? What is the actual connotation in Arabic of the corresponding wording?

In these ayats the unlawful things are described with an article only 6145 is describing in verbs.Without 6145 one is thinking that just Blood is unlawful written as "ad-Dam" but 6145 is going in detail by telling every creature which is bleeding (if you cut it)with high presure is unlawful.

Just now I saw a verse here which said forbidden to you are the catches from the land. I believe this implies turtles, crocs crabs, sea snakes, clams and some others because they stay half time in the ocean and half time on land.

                                    Peace,

I understand the blood poured forth means blood which comes out of animal's body when the animal is cut. And it is not just said blood because many people think that spleen is nothing but a collected blood. So, to avoid confusion it is clearly mentioned as the poured forth blood.

                                    This is how I understand.

Just now I saw a verse here which said forbidden to you are the catches from the land. I believe this implies turtles, crocs crabs, sea snakes, clams and some others because they stay half time in the ocean and half time on land.

                                      Peace,

Even though they spend half of the time on land, they are not called tortoise but turtles, in this way I think these are considered as the animals of ocean. BTW, I am wondering does crocodiles live in oceans? hmm I think they don't.

May Allah increase our knowledge and guide us on His path pr

                                          Salaam,

As per 1614 all foods from ocean is halaal. And as per 6145 all foods are halaal except for the mentioned ones. But there are preferred ones, please click here to check it out.

                                          Salam, mmkhan,
You wrote that 1614 is implying that all in the ocean is hallal but it doesnt say that, only that there is fresh meat in the ocean to eat but not all Kind of animal in the water.
Also the ihram vers doesn't say that ALL catch of the sea and his Food is allowed. Please think about it.
Lawful for you is the catch of the sea and his food, to eat it as enjoyment for you and for those who travel; and unlawful for you is the catch of the land as long as you are under restriction; and be aware of God to whom you will be gathered.
Let's have a look at other scriptures which Food we are allowed to eat.
                                          Leviticus 119-12
"These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto youThey shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcasses in abomination.Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you."
