What is the definition of Prohibition ?
-
Q, I think you may be interpreting this "prohibition" concept a bit too extremely, in order to prove a point.
Is there a sentence in the quran where "running someone over with your car, for the fun of it" is prohibited? No.
Am I therefore, to use your logic, allowed to do such a thing? -

Am I therefore, to use your logic, allowed to do such a thing?I am not giving any logic. I am asking ;
If something is not prohibited in the Quran ,does it mean that it is prohibited ?
You can answer in yes or no.

Quranic punishment is very much Ok .But Stoning is also not Prohibited.
So you want to say "There is no prohibition of Stoning in the Quran".
Quran says no one can prohibit what Allah has not prohibited.

By that logic. Quran says 'fight those who fight you' but it doesn't say 'forbidden to you is fighting those who DONT fight you'. Therefore, its ok to fight those who don't fight us. Sorry but this is illlogical reasoning on your part.

We are all adults here. You didn't say "this is my logic" but your line of questioning implies a certain logic.
If you would like, I can change what I said to "Am I therefore, to use your line of questioning, allowed to do such a thing?"

You are contradicting yourself .
Item A is not prohibited in the Quran = It is ok to adopt
Item B is not prhobited in the Quran = It is not ok to adopt .Then what is the definition of Prohibition ?

RegardsWhy am I contradicting myself? Stoning isn't prohibited, so its ok to do it. Fighting isn't prohibited so it's ok to do it. Where's the contradiction. Your criteria calls for an explicit 'haram' word to be used so this is the result you get.

241 A chapter which We have sent down and imposed, and We have sent down in it clear signs/revelations that you may remember.
242 The adulteress and the adulterer, you shall lash each of them one hundred lashes, and do not let any pity take you over God's system if you acknowledge God and the Last Day. Let a group of the acknowledgers witness their punishment.
4221 Or do they have idols who decree for them a law which has not been authorized by God? If it were not for the word already given, they would have been judged immediately. Indeed, the transgressors will have a painful retribution.
Stoning people to death for adultery is equal to disobeying God, following/imposing a law other than God's and setting up partners to Him.
