After I started listing to the authorized english translation at http//submission.ws which in my opinion is a very soothing experience as it's a pleasant voice reading the quran over relaxing music, I decided to order a copy Rashad Khalifa's Authorized English Version so I could read it and maybe read along with the audio version. I have to say I'm impressed with this translation and think it's quality is up there with the Reformist and the Monotheist Group version. Before I was reluctant to start reading it because of the whole messenger/prophet and extended numerological proofs controversy. Of course I believe he was the messenger of the covenant but I could understand why people could go overboard with this belief like they did with Moses Jesus and Mohammad. It looks like even a fundamentalist agrees that this is one of the accurate english translations http//www.answering-christianity.com/why_do_i_use_rk.htm
Maybe this person will also look into the reformist and pure and litereal translation too.

It is one of the most distorted translations.
He thinks that word Khalifa means "representative" which he interprets as "satan, temporary god".It the most stupid interpretation which can be ever produced.

Like this for 741 ,he translates "Al - Mudassir" as "secret code". Again Most non sense distortion .
It is a translation by a deluded person.

        Peace
Rashad Khalifa is not a Messenger of Allah.
He did some scholar work which is debatable, he said it was a miracle and used it to prove
that this means he is a messenger.
Messengers validate Allah's Books and implement His Words, by Deeds and with Clarity of Purpose
to save the many, not target the few...
RK's message targets the maths (and white magic) tricks buffs ...
and where is the Message, lost in numbers?...

Allah willing, there will be a Messenger I believe, who will finalize Allah's Deen whom Allah promised His Prophets and the Believers, when, only He knows...

It is one of the most distorted translations.

This is a huge accusation, bro, especially with you only providing 2 examples... ) Anyway, regardless of what you personally say about him or his translation, many Islaamic scholars agree that he has one of the best Qur'aanic translations in circulation today, and part of that is because he bases his translations on a nonsectarian viewpoint; instead of relying on what the hadiyth and sunna say regarding a certain issue, he goes with what makes the most sense... By the way, claiming that he translated "al muddathir" as secret code is totally false, and this is not what his translation says. He translates it as "hidden secret", which, based on the Arabic language and the scriptural context, is not too farfetched...

Provide the evidence that "Al -mudassir " means Hidden Secret .

Secondly , it is Quranic Principle ,even if a munaafiq talks correctly ,even then he is "LIAR".

The problem is that he didn't only translate it, he completely interpreted it. He should have translated it into its literal meaning and let the reader interpret it as they like.

This is the Satanic Methodology which the Translaters adopt to convey their own satanic ideas in the name of the Quran.

MG translation was based on RK, and RQT was based on MG, so they are similar. They are also similar in the sense they are all riddled with errors.

However, in terms of readability, then they are decent, if that's what you meant.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

I agree it's easier to read than those translated into Shakespearean English

                        Salam,

MG translation was based on RK, and RQT was based on MG, so they are similar.

That is incorrect information you are spreading. The Message was based on the Arabic Quran with a cross reference to a number of other translations. That RTQ was based on The Message is correct.

They are also similar in the sense they are all riddled with errors.

Perhaps, as Ayman pointed out in another thread, it could be that your understanding is riddled with the errors?

Shakespearean English? It's more like the King James Version of the Bible, especially the one written by Abdullah Yusuf Ali.

In the Subcontinent Shakperian English still taught. But has been out from day to day documentation.
During his perios Urdu and English were written most in old style because those were difficult ones and this criteria used to considered a matter of "scholarship".

I think Khalifa means representative, too. I think that's the Quranic gloss or restoration (depending on your perspective) of Adam being the 'image' of God. But anyway, most of the translation is pedestrian, but the idea that Satan as a temporary god freaks me out enough on its own to keep me away from most of what RK touched.
