    Peace, everyone!

I'm looking for God. Or His love--that's the only thing i have ever sensed of Him anyway.

And not-so-complicated story oversimplified--that's how i came to GOD alone.

So, is God here? Or His love?

    Or at least, His lovers?

    Mmm?

I think you may find lovers of God here

A wonderful thought to have, Sarah, thanks!

Others who are either shy or not sure... (also those whose minds are so free their hearts got lost...), just check on the clues. It's all over the Book?here's a cheatsheet

              Allah yuHibbu Al muHsiniyn
              God loves the kind people

              Allah yuHibbu Al tawwaabiyn
              God loves the returning people

              Allah yuHibbu Al muTTahhiriyn
              God loves the purifying people

              Allah yuHibbu Al muttaqiyn
              God loves the reverent people

              Allah yuHibbu Al Saabiriyn
              God loves the persevering people

              Allah yuHibbu Al mutawakkiliyn
God loves the people who trust in Him

              Allah yuHibbu Al muqsiTiyn
              God loves the just people

Allah yuHibbu Alladiyna yuqaatiluwna fi sabiylihi Saffa
God loves the people who fight in His cause united in a row

And this is why i ask this question

... Allah bi qawmin yuHibbuhum wa yuHibbunahu
God ... with the people whom He loves and who love Him

So, any other lover of our Most Merciful?

C'mon, speak it out loud "OF COURSE I LOVE MY GOD?WHAT KIND OF QUESTION IS THAT!?"

              D

greetings too, morninglight, Rev.John, Munzir Ali! D
glad to have new friends ... Thanks God

Peace, hope4! Yeah, let's spread the word, and let's be LOVERS of GOD.

GOD has put His clues all over the Book regarding certain groups and those are straight-actionable ones!

Maybe we can work together to link those verses together--those groups and their descriptions, for quick reference.

i've already began a prelim study and would like to share the result on the forum, God willing.

                          Peace,

I grew up in the Sunni tradition myself. However, after all the rages against the (put "suspected" here if you like) "lies" and "conspiracies", i came to pity and worry about those who are still basing their decisions on such mental and psychological tyrannies. Not that their lives have anything to do with mine, but still, you would want your families and friends to be believers in God alone, wouldn't you? Unless made clear to you the rights from the wrongs, you'd still have hope for them to be guided, wouldn't you?

Hate is of no use. Take evil for example. It is useless to hate evil. Stay away from it, yes, of course, just follow God and seek His protection. Why though, we would need to be angry to something that wants our anger, no matter what our anger is directed to? That is simply not peaceful. Wasted, useless, hate is. I came nearer to the conclusion that God's way is perfectly peaceful and of ease and of happiness. No need for all the negative emotions, and even no need to linger on difficulties. The simulation of heavenly life is already beginning when one submits to God entirely. God always remind us to return to Him after we make any fault, that is, in my opinion, so we don't linger on negativity too long. He wants us to quickly return back into peaceful state. Back to 'heaven' again.

I have not-so-memorable past with hatred/anger. Now that i have much more reasons to forgive--thanks to God who relieved me--everything becomes easier. I still have issue with one of the basic deeds of reverence to God, as leftovers from the past habits. That's why i need a completely different view, that of God's absolute ease. I left the doctrine that 'religion is difficult'. That, suspiciously, has satanic sign on it--it opposes the view of "ease" in the Quran, for those who follow God and His message.

Everything is easy for Him and we are invited to keep asking Him for ease. And i'm still learning to practice this new "easy" view.

And i don't know how to explain this feeling of "love" and "affection" to God. At times in the past i have dragged myself away from God, but He always reminded me of that certain feeling. And i keep returning to Him, eventually. Such is the feeling i can't have any other way. And clumsy as it is when you begin to try something new to you, following God's message (especially where He explicitly expressed His love for) actually revives the feeling. This is what i'm after--what i want to feel my entire life. And if there would come the people as God promised--God loves them and they love their God--i must be part of them. Here on earth, and soon in Heaven, God willing.

                          SubHaanaka Allahumma wa biHamdika

"Ya Allah, my Nurturer, i thank You, for every moment You brought me back to Life.
You have written in my heart an understanding--that You are the Most Loving of all lovers.
The Love i wouldn't be alive without, and the Forgiveness i could never have peace without.
My Listener, my Protector--please give me everything that i need
to bear the meaning of these words 'i love You and i live for You'"

                              Hi Fawzia,

                              thanks for the drop-by.

Well i have read a lot about what He does not like, or "hate" if you like, so i won't need your reference, thanks. It's in the Quran i read daily, plain without extras.

I'm more interested in His love, and that is something not compatible with those who seek the opposite.

                              Peace!

Well I have read the Quran (albeit an English translation), the Bible and the Tanakh (once again, an English translation), No where do I see God saying he hates anyone.

Fawzia, are you having a problem to get over your Love for God, and that is why you keep posting the messages that made you question your love for Him? The reason I'm saying that you are "struggling with your feelings about God" is the Fact that you are here in this forum...it seems you are seeking the help of others to clarify the messages that caused you to feel this way...will, if this is true, then we will help you to understand the messages.
Please let us know if this is your case.
I can not imagine how anyone could not Love his or her Creator...The Creator Who knows You more than you know yourself...The One Who Will always be there for you when no one is...

                                      Peace, belH, terrific question!

Question...Is Loving God is enough to Gain God's Love and Mercy? Hence, Do you think Satan Did not Love God?

Well, i don't know what to say about satan's love story--i can only guess.

As for the expression "Loving God" as you said, is it merely an expression by words?

I found myself that merely saying 'i love God, i love God, i love God' all day is not enough, indeed. Well, that is quite helpful sometimes, but if i were saying 'i love God' and at the same time i were trying to excuse myself from following His clear message, then indeed i would be lying to myself. If i were to ensure God's love for me (and my love for God), then i must ensure that i follow His message. And His message leads His believers to actions.

If you follow the eight groups whom God explicitly expressed His love for, you will find that their descriptions is linked/related to each other. Their descriptions may not always sound like a direct order, but may also be more subtle. Suggestions from God that you will only take heed if you actually wanted to be like them.

                                      For example Allah yuHibbu AlmuHsiniyn
                                      2195
                                      3134
                                      3148
                                      513
                                      593

note In some verses where AlmuHisiniyn (The Kind People, The Doers of Good/Kindness) is mentioned/referred to/described, Almuttaqiyn or the act of taqwa or reverence is also mentioned/referred to.

                                      2195
And spend in the way of God and do not throw with your hands into destruction. And do good (AHsinuw!); indeed, Allah loves the doers of good (AlmuHsiniyn).

                                      3133-136
                                      You should eagerly race towards forgiveness from your Lord and a Paradise whose width encompasses the heavens and the earth;
                                      it awaits the Almuttaqiyn
who give to charity during the good times, as well as the bad times.
                                      They are suppressors of anger,
                                      and pardoners of the people.
                                      GOD loves AlmuHsiniyn.
If they fall in sin or wrong their souls,
                                      they remember GOD
and ask forgiveness for their sins -and who forgives the sins except GOD?-
and they do not persist in sins, knowingly.
Their recompense is forgiveness from their Lord, and
gardens with flowing streams; they abide therein forever.
What a blessed reward for the workers!

note Here, descriptions of Almuttaqiyn are connected with AlmuHsiniyn--which is then described with the act of repentance/return (tawbah), indicating that it is also inseparable from Altawwabiyn.

                                      593
There is not upon those who believe and do righteous deeds ("amilu AlSalihat), any blame concerning what they have eaten
                                      so long as they
reverence and believe and do righteous deeds,
                                      then afterward, reverence and believe,
                                      then afterward, reverence and do good (AHsanuw);
                                      and GOD loves AlmuHsiniyn.

note reverence (verb) = Ittaqaw (verb) ~ taqwa ~ Almuttaqiyn (The Reverends, the people who have taqwa)

If you want to know further about what Almuttaqiyn do, please read the comprehensive 2177 which is filled with suggested 'actions of reverence'.

please verify yourselves the verses above--translations used are bound to my subjectivity.

Well I have read the Quran (albeit an English translation), the Bible and the Tanakh (once again, an English translation), No where do I see God saying he hates anyone.

Same here, Rev.John. I usually read from www.quran.com with the Arabic and several English translations to compare, and what i found is "does not love" (laa yuHibbu). Just a negation. The opposite of what is being talked in this thread.

Say, "Obey God and the messenger."
But if they turn away - then indeed, God does not love the disbelievers.

Moreover, there are verses where God expressed His strong warnings. As i recall, those are purely His warning and never expressed as His order upon believers (i.e., God Himself will perform His warning through a measure beyond human's ability). CMIIW. Believers are only ordered to pass on the warnings, along with the good news to those who choose to return.

To objectively observe the reason behind the strong warnings, however, would require a good will and a good patience.

                                        Peace,

From my understanding, it seems that, as God is love, then He is incapable of hate. As you say, he can withdraw his love (or himself) from any transgressor, but never hate them.
