    Salaam.
Quranists how do you translate this Verse?
    " "
And whoso opposeth the messenger after the guidance (of Allah) hath been manifested unto him, and followeth other than the believer's way, We appoint for him that unto which he himself hath turned, and expose him unto hell - a hapless journey's end!" An Nissa verse 115.

Quranists think that they follow Quran but in fact they don't, they follow just their own desires or a desire of someone. They are creating a new way of worshipping .

I prefer not to give them this holy name "Quranists". This is their perfect name "UNQURANISTS"

and you follow Quran? You dont follow your desires or someone elses desires and interpretations? You worship exactly how Quran tells you or do you worship how bukhari et al tell you?

they are called Muslims, they follow Quran and Allah, they submit to Allah ALONE, they are MUSLIMS.

It's confusing because then God says -

4116 Lo! God pardons not that partners should be ascribed to Him. He pardons all except that, to whom He wills. Whoever ascribed partners to God, has wandered far astray.

So we shouldn't ascribe Prophet Muhammed to God as a partner, an equal? -Fair enough, so should we also not 'follow' Prophet Muhammed?

          Peace.

              Bismillaah,

I don't see how this is confusing at all. Even though i might not share the same ideas of certain things with the majority here, I can understand how a quranist/quran-aloner is folllowing the Prophet, peace be upon him, from their point of view. It all comes down to how we understand the commandment of following/obeying the Prophet.

              Assalaamo alaykom

We obey the god, otherwise we would have followed the prophet's example against that blind man. When it comes to the quran, his is the best example from mankind. So we follow him.

                      Bismillaah,

I think most of the people here agrees with you, that it is enough to follow what God has revealed to the Prophet, aleyhi salato wasalam.

Why people think they have to follow hadeeth can be because of many reasons. Understanding certain ayaat differently, tradition, culture. Wa Allaaho alem.

Quranists strive to interpret the Quran 'bil Quran', that is to interpret it according to the Quran's framework. That's not following desires. Following desires is taking half an ayah and going about explaining it with a saying that no one knows actually came from the Prophet and on top of that, contradicts the Quran itself.

                            Selam

I very much doubt this. I don't believe the prophet could have added his own desires as revelation.

7519 Then it is for Us to explain it.

                            Peace

Personlly I don't think so. To me, desires is a negative word, so it would be more like following things he said and did, the question is, did he say things out of divine inspiration or not. Or it is other humans beings desires, I mean that they wanted (for various) the prophet to have said, done these things. Or it is his sayings and doings. But of course those hadeeth that goes against the Quran can not be from the prophet, because i highly doubt he would advocate anything that goes against the Quran.

True, if what he said goes against The Qur'an then I guess it was made up for whatever reason.
But what about his hadith regarding things that are not in the Qur'an that don't really go against it?

But what about his hadith regarding things that are not in the Qur'an that don't really go against it?

Personal hadith/narration/story is not binding. Simple. The Quran says so itself! Consider the following profound verse

It tells us that those with the prophet should not stay and wait around for hadith of his when at his house, clearly showing that God differentiates between the hadith of the prophet and His hadith (as contained in The Quran), i.e. they are unequal and unecessary

O you who believe, do not enter the prophet's homes except if you are invited to a meal, without you forcing such an invitation. But if you are invited, you may enter. And when you finish eating, you shall leave, without staying to wait for hadith. This used to bother the prophet, and he was shy to tell you. But God does not shy away from the truth. And if you ask his wives for something, ask them from behind a barrier. This is purer for your hearts and their hearts. And it is not for you to harm God's messenger, nor that you should marry his wives after him. This is indeed a gross offence with God.

The is solid proof against the traditional position.

The above is taken from the following article
                                    http//mypercept.co.uk/articles/Hadith_in_Quran.htm

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

Have a read of 69/40-47. If the Quran is true and the Prophet taught anything opposed to it, then Allah simply would have ended his life. Consider how severe the wording of this passage is and you can see that the Quran totally disapproves of such hadith.

Following the messenger is identical to following the lord because the messenger is only an intermediary. If you had a flight from the UK to Australia and the plane stopped in Egypt on the way, that does not mean Egypt is the land you wish to go to, it means Egypt is a very useful stopping point for the airline. A verse saying "follow the messenger" does not give license to "submit to the messenger" (Hadeeth, as hadeethists propose) and separately submit to Allah (quran, as they say). No, the wording is, submit to Allah AND his messenger. The messenger submits to Allah, there is no question about that and as said in the quran, it is horrendous to submit to other than Allah. So when an evil one comes to you with a hadeeth, then you must check if it (1) Is in line with the messenger and (2) is in line with the word of the almighty. Don't you see that if you separate the two, then you end up submitting to two entities (your perception of Allah, and your perception of the messenger), one of which is flawed?

Take into consideration the latter part of the verse. A hadeeth from the messenger is Allah's hadeeth and such will be a hadeeth from a "believer" aka "one who follows the way prescribed by the almighty" also. It is self evident that these terms refer to a state in a point in time, if a human is in the state of being a "muslim" at the time he utters a "hadeeth" then there is no possibility whatsoever for that hadeeth to be incorrect.

If you turn away from this path then the almighty will support you in the path you have chosen, that is his will, in the same way that if you decide you wish to take a step to the left or right, then the universal force will support you in doing so either way. Those paths not following the way of our creator are paths that essentially lead to pain and then more pain in hell.

Still, the question of "shall we follow the supposed hadeeths of Muhammad that lie outside of the quran" ends when one begins to question their authenticity and firmness in guidance in the first place so you can cite all the verses in the world, if the quran does indeed say to follow Sahih Bukhari then it is clearly no book of God and we come to this conclusion by using those very rules of logic & sense that our creator has programmed into us in the first place. Keep in mind that some very good believing people are atheists as a result of this malarky because in their subjective reality the construct of "Islam" makes no logical sense.

The hadeeth contain a lot of patent nonsense and the quran appears to contain a lot of patent nonsense, let's deal with these separately. It is an assured fact that the "hadeeth" cannot stand up on their own so no amount of using the quran as a foothold will help, they have no feet.

Quranists think that they follow Quran but in fact they don't, they follow just their own desires or a desire of someone. They are creating a new way of worshipping .
I prefer not to give them this holy name "Quranists". This is their perfect name "UNQURANISTS"

                                          Peace,
                                          Respectfully.

I could take this as an insult but i would prefer to ask you rather this
How am i following my desires when i receive my salary and than i give it to those that we found described in 2215 an when i give as much as i am told in 2219 and on the day that i am told in 6141? How exactly am i following a desire or myself or someone else?

Also, when i read in chapter two, verses starting with 183, regarding the fast, and when i am told to fast until layl (night), how is that following my desire, when i am following what it is written?

Also, why do sunnis break the fast at sunset and not night? Where do they find that? Some other book? A bookof their desires?

                                          No offence, amigo.
                                          Peace.
