      The subject of the Ayah in question form is about the academic manner of studying a book.

      http//haqeeqat.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/00.Arabic%20Text/004.%20An%20Nisa/temp%2014%20%204.082.gif

      Is it because they do not personally study the Qur?n critically, logically and coherently pursuing its text?

      The whole purpose of reading is comprehension. And the whole purpose of reading and comprehension is to know the ultimate truth; truth warped in time-space; the whole truth not affected by time-space. The correspondence theory of truth states that the truth or falsity of a statement is determined only by how it relates to the world and whether it accurately describes (i.e., corresponds with) that world. It states that true statements correspond to the actual state of affairs. For coherence theories in general, truth requires a proper fit of elements within a whole system.

      The Grand Qur?n has laid down an enquiry system and criterion to determine the veracity of a lengthy text. It is denoted by Arabic verbal Noun Critical and logical thinking an enquiry based process and pursuit linking background knowledge to determine cohesion and coherence.

      The verb and its verbal Noun stems from Root . Learned Ibn Faris stated that it signifies the tail end of a thing and of back - rear in contrast to front. Thereby, while studying Qur?n till its tail end the background information must be referenced.

      Since the Verb choice is Form-V which has reflexive causative meanings, and the subject receives back the impact of action, the act is to be done personally. It generally depicts such actions where the subject honestly and sincerely performs that action diligently.

      If they would have done the study as normally books are studied in academic manner, they would certainly realize that the book is really the intellectual property of Allah the Exalted. Reason, what is the argument?

      http//haqeeqat.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/00.Arabic%20Text/004.%20An%20Nisa/temp%2014%20%204.082a.gif

      And had it (Qur?n) been a dictate by someone other than Allah the Exalted, they would certainly have found what to say of one but many mutual variations - contradictions - conflicts within it.

      http//haqeeqat.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/00.Tabweeb%20Part%202/001.%20Roots%20originating%20in%20Surat%20002/2.030/01.Khalifa%20Kha%20Laam%20Fa/20.gif Verbal Noun Indefinite; accusative;

      It is the object of preceding verb. What is commonly overlooked is the fact that Form-VIII verbal nouns and verbs have the connotative signification of reciprocity.

      Its Root is . Ibn Faris stated

      ( &#1577

      That it signifies the coming or happening of a thing after another thing rising and holding the position and status that was once held by the other one

      And in Form-VIII it means mutually contrary, disagreeing, variation, contradictory, conflicting; later mentioned in reference to mentioned earlier.

        Ikhtilāf اخْتِلَاف is a verbal noun in form VIII. This form is reflexive of basic form, so it's about subject's doing something to itself. Basic meaning of this root is "to stay/be behind" and it can be manifested in many ways, as it can talk about survivors, about representatives of somebody, about retreat, and so on.

        Ikhtilāf thus can talk about something was in some state before and it changed itself, in many ways. For example, we can change our views on something and that would be our ikhtilāf. This is normal and expected for us, because only some crazy people will claim that they're always right. By Allah's choosing word ikhtilāf we were told not just about that there's no contradictions in the Qur'an, but also that Allah's not changing His Mind, as humans normally can. This can also be a proof that there's no abrogation in the Qur'an.
