DID SOLOMON TALK TO BIRDS?
-
Peace,
And he inspected the birds, then said "Why do I not see the hoopoe, or is he among those absent? I will punish him severely, or I will kill him, else he should have an evident excuse. But the hoopoe did not stay away long, then he said "I have seen what you do not know, and I have come to you from Sheba with news which is certain." 2720-22
Do you guys think that, Solomon literally spoke to them? Or, perhaps, this is a metaphor?

Peace be upon you,
Solomon was taught SYMBOLIC LANGUAGE (the speech of birds).
Just like all of us can be taught the same.
When one learns the Symbolic language, they are excited to share it with others.
-
Salaams idolfree,
Normal translation
And he inspected (TAFAQADA)the birds(ALTAEER), then said "Why do I not see the hoopoe(ALHUDHUD), or is he among those absent? I will punish him severely, or I will kill him, else he should have an evident excuse. But the hoopoe did not stay away long, then he said "I have seen what you do not know, and I have come to you from Sheba with news which is certain." 2720-22
Do you guys think that, Solomon literally spoke to them? Or, perhaps, this is a metaphor?
No i think its all a mistranslation fraud
TAFAQADA=to review/make an inquisition into/search out things lost or missed/inspect
ALTAEER= Cause of good or evil/action of a man -good or bad.
ALHUDHUD=proper name of a responsible officer in the army of king solomon. So
And he made an inspection , then said "Why do I not see THE OFFICER, or is he among those absent? I will punish him severely, or I will kill him, else he should have an evident excuse. But the officer did not stay away long, then he said "I have seen what you do not know, and I have come to you from Sheba with news which is certain." 2720-22
As far as i can see all the other places can be simerlarly worked out, where the birds and the jinns accur.
But it is a lot of time waster.
I think anybody can do it and should using the Q.D and The Lanes and i am sure there are others as well..
-
Peace be upon you MZ,
Al Taeer is not birds?
Also, was Solomon really going to punish and/or kill a man who had not killed another?
-
Salaams idolfree,
I believe Altair means a bird as well, thats how every mistrans has crept in as some words have more then one meaning and the translators where just translating and not just giving out the right information is which they should do.
You don't believe in the magic bit ,or miracle bits?I thought you didn't.
What did they used to do to run away soldiers? could be meaning that way.
Salaams.
-
Peace be upon you MZ,
I am still unclear, are you saying Solomons army was real birds, and that he was going to MURDER one for not listening to his commands?
-
Salaams idolfree,
of course they wern't birds be real. All i said was the word has a number of meanings and one of them happens to be bird.
Since when do we talk to birds in their tongue or vice versa its all from the bible or the old testament and mixed in with a lot of gurbled mistranslations.
The quran is supposed to be clearing all the confusion -added to the previous revelations but ,people managed to put it all back in via the translation.Due to misunderstandings i think anyway.
Kill him if he had ran off from the army - i would say,I wonder do they still do that nowadays in any country?
-
Peace be upon you MZ,

Sorry brother, please be patient with me, I thought thats what you were saying.
All i said was the word has a number of meanings and one of them happens to be bird.
Ok.
Since when do we talk to birds in their tongue or vice versa
Only parrots, but they are only mimicing sound.

I don't agree that bible is a revelation because it contradicts, but I understand your point regarding previous teachings.
Kill him if he had ran off from the army - i would say,I wonder do they still do that nowadays in any country?
This last statement, is this your understanding of the verse? Or just a question you are asking?
Yes, that is done today, but that is certainly not something the God prohibits. We cannot kill people because they don't want to fight. There is a verse in this reading regarding those that stay at home.
-
I think don't they make you sign an agreement not to run off from the army ,but if you do you will be shot.
So its an agreement,to be shot if you run away,So staying at home ,that ayat doesn't have anything to do with agreements like soldiers -surely.
Army laws are very strict.
And Solomon was inspecting his army.
Salaams.

Peace,
It is my opinion that some of the Solomon story must be allegorical, perhaps, because it doesn't all agree with my logic. However, one question I've had regarding the Solomon story is the fact that he threatened to attack Sheba after she sent him a gift, is this not against God's commands? If he was contemplating attacking her simply because she was an Idolator isn't this equated with aggression?
I look forward to your thoughts. -
Salaams peace,
where on earth does he say he will attack her, without agression towards him.Salaams.
-
Peace,
- ?Take this letter of mine and deliver it to them, then withdraw from them and observe what they respond with.?
- She said ?O commanders, a noble letter has been delivered to me.?
- ?It is from Solomon, and it reads ?In the name of God, the Almighty, the Most Merciful??
- ??Do not be arrogant toward me and come to me surrendering??
- She said ?O commanders, advise me in this matter of mine, for I will not take a decision until you give testimony.?
- They said ?We are people of strength and mighty in power. But the decision is yours, so see what you will command.?
- She said ?When the kings enter a town they destroy it and make its most noble people humiliated. It is such that they do.?
- ?And I will send to them a gift, then I will see with what the messengers will return.?
- So when they came to Solomon he said ?Are you providing me with wealth? What God has provided for me is far better than what He has given you. Now you are happy with your gift!?
- ?Return to them. For we shall come to them with soldiers the like of which they have never seen, and we will drive them out humiliated, while they are feeble
In my opinion the bold lettering is what states that Solomon is contemplating attacking Sheba. However, wouldn't contemplating attacking Sheba be considered aggression? Maybe I'm not understanding the verses properly.
Take it ez -
Salaams peace,
The following is more right to my understanding.
2737. ?Return to them. For we shall come to them with hosts for whome there is no resistance and we shall cover and let their system decay and they be disgraced and will be abased(feeble)."According to 2724
They are not serving allah and they are worshipping the sun and doing evil things ,while to them they seem pleasing(i mean the evil things)Obviosly we can't say what the evilness is ,there are i am sure even you might agree that certain things cannot be overlooked even when they are done outside our controles ,especially if we are aware and they are so bad,you will be quistioned on judgment DAY.No dought -of what actions you took.
Salaams.

"They" make you sign? Who is "THEY"? Is it anothe god besiders THE GOD? Can whatever "THEY" make me sign, be upheld in front of the God as a reason to disobey HIS LAWS?
There are laws coming for Homosexual marriages, can they override the God's law?
There is no reason for Solomon to kill a bird or a human because the bird or human decided to wander off. This book is not about WAR or GANGS, it is about guidance that leads to PEACE.
-
Peace be upon you Peace,
I do not think that Solomon was going to attack Sheba, I think that it is only saying that the effect of rejection is disgrace.
I view much of the symbolism in this reading, as it has been in ancient teachings, as being dialogue of the will (masculine) and the soul/mind (feminine). Think along those lines when you read this story as well.
When the Will and the mind(nafs) comune properly, we succeed. They have to be on the same page. All of are spiritual thoughts(birds) MUST be CONTROLLED (malaika), if they are not controlled then they are rejecting thoughts (shaytaan the rejected) and should be destroyed (killed).
Recall when Musa's teacher "killed" a young boy who had done nothing. Was it really a boy? Or did that symbolize a new thought (which is masculine because thoughts are seeds that get planted in the mind, which is feminine).

Salaams idol,
i was talking about a post in the army, say any army and desserters are shot. And solomon was inspecting the soldiers and ma
y be they did the same to deserters as we do now.
And to me solomons story is real ,history, but to you i think its not a real story of history thats why we see it differently.Salaams.
-
Peace be upon you MZ,
I was talking about a post in the army, say any army and desserters are shot. And solomon was inspecting the soldiers and ma
y be they did the same to deserters as we do now.Yes, I am aware. That is why I ask you, do you really think that Solomon was prepared to shoot a human or bird? Better yet, would you be comfortable shooting someone who deserted your "army"? Is there compulsion in the "deen" of the God? That sounds like compulsion to me.
And to me solomons story is real ,history, but to you i think its not a real story of history thats why we see it differently.
My stance is that I cannot verify if this was a real story or not. Logically, I have never seen people and birds talk, nor anyone control winds, etc. So my only logical choice is to take the stories as symbolic, teaching us lessons.
But that difference should not prevent us from coming to a conclusion on the subject of killing people who are deserters.
-
Salaams idol,
As i have said before there is so much of it -mistranslation,apart from which it is Allahs message and there is no comparision - thats as i see it.Therefore no birds talking and no monkies of men,no parting of the sea e.t.cAs regarding the killing of deserters ,to my knowledge we can create contracts between us and if one doesn't uphold the contract then according to the terms of the contract you will take appropriate action, and the deserters come into the contract theme.
Thanks.

There is no contract that overides the God's Law. I respectfully agree to disagree.
-
One thing you are forgetting Dosn't Allah say keep your contracts wich you make between your selves? Are or Arn't they different to your contract with the Allmighty.
