why do imams scream in the mosques?!
-
That is the problem with you Women, specially the one's who don't care about boundaries that Islam puts on them, whenever you put forward arguents against TOTAL freedom, you are painted as "bad guy" who is trying to subjugate Women.
Yasir, you seem to have good hand on Feminists PULSE.
lol, are you going strawman on me? nobody said anything about not caring about boundries or total freedom in this thread. we are discussing the mosque issue, the tone and the language. if you have something substantial to add to THAT then please do.

Imams use energy in their sermons to try and get their message across.
There is positive and negative energy. The "energy" coming from those particular imams is a rather negative one.
The prophet is said to have been a very gentle and soft-spoken person, I highly doubt he was yelling at people to get the message across.

Peace be upon you,
with all due Respect.Well, then, first things first we must get a woman imam in a mosque that is a mosque where no other hadeeth will be followed, except The Best hadeeth - The Qur'an.
I trust God and therefore know that it will work, I know she won't wear make up during the speech and the prayer and I am also sure that men will be disciplined and under control, God knows best.P.S.I make three prostrations during my prayers.
hail hail hail hail
Peace be upon you. -
That's a matter of perspective; a listener may find that type of energy very motivating and inspiring.
Peace be upon you,
with all due Respect.Am I weird for thinking that certain men from Middle east, here in London, scream all the time, even intheir ordinary conversations with each other and even on the phones? I mean, they talk in Arabic and I have always loved and still do, foreign languages, especially Italian, German, Arabic and Spanish but I've noticed that certain Arab men simply scream or shall we say raise their voices even when they tlak to their friends, eye to eye.
May God increase my wisdom and extend my knowledge.
Peace be upon you. sun -
I went to one Mosque in UK where the Kutbah was in Urdu and Arabic, not English ??? so didnt understand a word although i dont remember him shouting. One Mosque here in Luxor that allows women which if course is in Arabic only, so again I dont understand much apart from Allah and Muhammed. Our home is surrounded by 3 Mosques (none of which allow women) so if I am home I can hear the screaming from them, and boy do they give it some! Someone told me there are Mosques here that are screaming for killing the infidels but im not too sure on that, hubby says no way. So all of this I am losing out on until my Arabic gets to a better point.
A very very long time ago i remember going to see a Billy Graham night in a Church in UK, he was a bit like that, very energetic and roused the audience, lot sof halleluja and all that, it was actually very inspiring ;D
The absolute best was when Khaled Yassin came to the Uni I worked at in UK. i sat for 3 hours open mouthed, and for Mushu - I had no idea at all even IF anyone was sitting next to me!- He never shouted and it was all in English and I could have sat there for another 24 hours listening to him, what a wonderful man. angel

Why she should not wear make-up, does it cause any hurdle?
You are banning the basic freedom of Women?
That is her basic right to carry over make-up,
you are wrong brother.
Princesslol, are you going strawman on me? nobody said anything about not caring about boundries or total freedom in this thread
There are hundresds of subsets in so called progressive muslims, Its easy to say something and evade it, because you have nothing defined, and you follow whatever seems fit to you.
did i mention your name? may be you are guilty consious? I said "specially those women". -
I remember during the Iraq war, they were screaming saying some pretty nasty stuff in some khutbas. -\
unfortunately not only in war. you can hear for example the anti-jewish hate-speech in some mosques any time, there are numerous (too numerous, if you ask me!) well-documented instances. i don't know how anyone can be close to god with that much hate in their heart, i feel hate is like a shield that prevents one from receiving any (spiritual) light. or talk to an average muslim, they will tell you ALL what they think of jews, while spitting poison from their mouths. i find this very sad
we really have to make difference between zionism (from which palestine suffers) and judaism as such, instead of delivering hate speeches in mosques, which are supposed to be houses of peace and worship.

yeah, i have also noticed this sometimes! however, none of my arab friends ever scream or elevate their voices, not with me nor among themselves, so i really have no clue why some yell while others do not -\

dear rajah, why not start a thread about 'subsets of progressive muslims' if you wish to discuss this subject. -
Princess

yes we should praise them...in our Khutbaaaas, but they are not as intelligent as you are? Daffars, Mullah's, backwards..
Can you please differeniate between Zionism and present day Jews? (may be few exceptions)
they are one and they same. -

they are one and they same.no they are not one and the same at all, google a bit more, expand your knowledge, it may help us all.
Where did you twist that princess said they were not as intelligent as she is from? -

with all due Respect.Okay, fine, you win, she can wear make up, in fact, I'll call Jennifer Garner's personal's make up assistants, the ones she worked with on Alias and tell her to do her job better this time. Deal? rotfl
I'm just saying that make-up won't be and isn't necessary during the prayer, one should focus on the prayer and on the talking to God. It doesn't cause any hurdle, it doesn't distract me, in fact, what does distract me is a bearded imam. ;DI'm not banning any freedom, especially those of gender equality.
I want women to be imams, make-up or not. I want women to be presidents and
lead the countries out of wars and towards peace, like queen of Jordan, Rania. handshakeBy the way, I'm more attracted to women who wear no make-up at all or very little.
May God increase our knowledge and give us more patience.
Glory be to God.
Peace be upon you. jedi -
So differeniate them, don't tell me about google!
Come on tell me please, who are present days Jews and what is Zionism? help improve my knowldge?
dear rajah, google indeed is your friend - USE IT.
but let us help you a little to begin your research zionism is a political movement(mostly secular btw), judaism is one of the abrahamic monotheistic religions/ways of life. not all jews are zionists and not all zionists are jews. in fact there are countless jews who OPPOSE zionism because it is contrary to the teachings in their holy book torah. you can often see jews protesting on the streets against zionist state that is israel, there are countless websites where true jews express their revulsion against what the state of israel is doing to palestinians etc etc etc.
what do you think of this

At the CIA, Sydney, having learned that Vaughn is sick, asks Irina if there is an antidote. It's in Paldiski, Estonia, she says, at a former Soviet training base for nuclear submarine personnel.
what do you mean do a better job this time? i think sydney looked natural & cute every time sun

Ironic thing is the 'traditional muslims' try to differentiate themselves from the 'extremist muslims' but cannot do the same for Jews and Zionists. Some go as far as saying the Holocaust was a good thing.....just shows how much brainwashing and asleep some people are.
PEACE
