OK, this has been bothering me for quite a while. I have yet to actually face an islamophobe, but they seem to be EVERYWHERE online, just check a random article on Islam with a comment section. My heart is filled with sorrow and anger whenever I see such comments, yet none of their arguments hold any value against my beliefs as a God Aloner.

What I would like to discuss is whether God Aloners are to be considered as collateral damage since most objections against Islam is based on Hadith and Quranic verses pulled out of context. And what can be done to educate people on the causes of barbarianism found in "Islamic" countries. I just HATE the very thought of me, or any true Muslim, being associated with the likes of the Iranian Government and even Taliban. The whole "Islam is as Islam does"-thing pisses me off.

Sometimes it just feels like the word "Muslim" bears nothing but bad connotations here in the West. It's sad. '(

or we can use this chance to put it where it belongs

        Hadithophobia

seriously. there is no better time to raise public awareness of the mixed, unverifiable content of Hadith (Bukhari et al).

Mark Iran as an example of those who conform to Shia ideology. Taliban as an example of those who conform to Sunni ideology. Based on Hadith.

It could also act as a 'reminder' / 'lesson' for us to not doing the same thing to other people or culture..
Basically people fear the 'unknown' or those who are 'alien' to them..
There are Islamophobic, Jewishphobic, Chinesephobic, Asianphobic, Westernphobic etc..

          "We reap what we sew"

"Judge not, that ye be not judged"
"For with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged and with what measure you measure , it shall be measured to you again."
"And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?"

I would say that hadithists are the collateral damage of the fight to keep Islam as God's Islam. Yes there are more of them, but Gods path is narrow with many stray paths leading off to nowhere.

I am really really sad to say that when I had on the few occassions talked to "islamaphobians" I have made the mistake of telling them that what they see on TV has nothing to do with what it says in Quran and what the message of God is all about according to us progressive Muslims.

Explaining like that has just turned the "islamaphobian" to a rascist....because if it is not the Quran telling them to blow themselves up it must be their culture....

Learn from my mistake and tread lightly.

You can use simple sites like www.Learn-About-Islam.com if it helps.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

                    Peace,
                    respect.

It should be pointed out that you must first remain calm and cool about it, because you are only responsible for yourself, remember?

5105 O you who believe, you are responsible for yourselves; none who are misguided can harm you if you are guided. To God is your return, all of you, and then He will inform you of what you have done.
2454 Say Obey God, and obey the messenger. But if they turn away, then he is only responsible for his obligation, and you are responsible for your obligations. And if you obey him, you will be guided. The messenger is only required to deliver clearly.

                    You can set an example.

3321 Indeed, in the messenger of God a good example has been set for you for he who seeks God and the Last Day and thinks constantly about God.
604 There has been a good example set for you by Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people We are innocent from you and what you serve besides God. We have rejected you, and it appears that there shall be animosity and hatred between us and you until you believe in God alone. Except for the saying of Abraham to his father I will ask forgiveness for you, but I do not possess any power to protect you from God. Our Lord, we have put our trust in You, and we turn to You, and to You is the final destiny.
606 Certainly, a good example has been set by them for those who seek God and the Last Day. And whoever turns away, then God is the Rich, the Praiseworthy.

You can destroy such Islamophoboes buy one simple sentence. Just ask them this"Are you talking about sunnis or muslims?"
In my case, usually, I get lots of attention and the heavy debate starts and sometimes they wanna engage in a long debate. This happened on so many times that I do believe that soon, God willing, people will be able to really tell the difference between us and sunnis.

                    Stay patient.
                    God bless you.
                    Peace.

                          Yes Rev. John.. you're right...

And they (sunni, shiites etc..) got it from their 'older brother' as well the Christians..

You see... both (traditional) christians and traditional Islam (sunni, shiites) share these common traits

                          • Salvation of the soul (heaven/jannah) is achieved through having the 'correct faith' and joining the 'true religion/sect'.
                          • Actively seeking converts, thinking that by obtaining convert for their 'true religion/sect' God will be pleased and grant them heaven/jannah.
                          • The 'correct faith' is achieved by acknowledgement / recognizing all God's prophet sent to this world (one is Jesus the other one is Mohammad)
Although they haven't met any of them during their lifetime.
                          • Fail to recognized any of God's true prophet will results in Narr / Hell / Gehena, as such both think that the Jews
(and others infidels who doesn't recognize their prophet) will certainly ends up in Hell since they don't acknowledged Jesus or Mohammad.
                          • Converting to other sect / religion / belief besides the 'true religion/dogma' will got Hell as their punishment.
As such they're very very afraid of 'learning and understanding other point of view / teachings' as there could be chances that they shall 'feel'
that this 'other point of view' is more 'right and correct' and they will 'lose their secured slot in Heaven / Jannah'.
And that's why they are always 'phobic' to alien culture and point of view and do nothing to understand it yet do many to attack it.

The way to ends this 'circle of karma' (as the eastern religions / cultures called it) is to start from ourselves.
Refrain from <put anything here>-phobic and people/race/culture stereotyping, and as time progress this 'good deed' shall bear its fruit.

And you my dear friend Rev.John are one of those rare personalities who could help on this 'collaborative works' for ending this
centuries long of prejudices, hatred, suspicion and stereotyping by putting forward a good example of TOLERANCE, LOVE and UNDERSTANDING.

Oh yes you are right! I would never even think of trying to deny that. All you have to do is look back in history to find numerous examples. Unfortunately no one seems to learn from it.

You are quite right. But please don't forget that most Sunni and Shea are Christianphobic

In the Asian sub-continent, they are also Hinduophobic, Sikhophobic, Buddismophobic (??)

                                      And vice versa

                                        Yes Rev. John.. you're right...

                                        Salam / Peace

I think the most unfortunate resemblance though would be that you should love Jesus/Muhammad more than any other human being with all your heart, soul and effort till the point where youd have to start wonder if even God has as much place in ones heart truly, or else........
How is it that they manage to convince themselves that what theyre doing isnt even close to being considered as idol worship beats me.

It's sad. '(

Islamophobia is an invention by Muslim propagandists so it is no surprise you haven't encountered one. Consider the word phobia. Psychologists and actual sufferers suffer pain and anxiety from their phobias and the notion of islamphobia denies these real sufferers the dignity of being recognised as having a phobia.

I don't agree with Islam, so I imagine I am an Islamophobe depending who needs to paint me as one. And yet I can assure you I am not afraid of you and we could have dinner and a good time and I would talk about anything you wished.

Am I afraid of Islam? Yep. Sorry. Should I be? Well you tell me? 379 religiously motivated deaths during Ramadan!?! It makes me wretch.

At best I hope and pray that we are just in a difficult time. Koran aloners aren't the problem. But you are not a Muslim, in fact you disassociate yourself from traditional Islam by denying many hadiths. I am glad you do but I find it hard to agree that you get to decide what it is to worship Allah as opposed to what Muslims have said is traditional for 1400 years. We both know that you would be unsafe in a conservative Islamic environment. So does that make you an Islamaphobe?
