Faith Schools

Salaam, what are your opinions on faith schools?
I have 3 children & have decided with my wife, who isn't muslim, not to send them to a religious school as we feel I can teach them about God at home when they are old enough to understand the concept of God.

Is it's anything like the one I went to then you've made the right choice by not sending them to one.
