    2236

2236 And the plump livestock, We have made them for you to be among the symbols of Allah; you will have benefit in them. So mention the name of Allah upon them in succession; then, once their sides have become still, you may eat from them and feed with them the poor and the needy. It was thus that We have made them in service to you, that you may be thankful.

My understanding I got it from this aayat, I don't find otherwise.

    Touche' sir.

I agree with you, that this ayah most definitely refers to the slaughter of the livestock, as otherwise the mention of their sides becoming still wouldn't make sense.

What makes me sad is that only eating meat that I can verify was slaughtered in the name of Allah might be difficult to do in some places. I'll have to become a vegetarian out of fear of becoming a polytheist. The second part of the ayah warns against following the supporters of the devils who would seek to argue against eating halal meat. At least thats how I read it.

Don't you worry brother, Allah know that.

      593

593 There is no sin upon those who believe and do good works for what they eat if they are aware and believe and do good works, then they are aware and believe, then they are aware and do good; Allah loves the good doers.

And I advice you to strongly seek Allah's help on the same instead of going vegetarian He know everything so, He will open ways for you.

      652

652 Then, once the interim is fulfilled, either you remain together equitably, or part ways equitably and have it witnessed by two just people from among you; and give the testimony for Allah. This is to enlighten those who believe in Allah and the Last Day. And whoever reverences Allah, He will create a solution for him.

Hope this may be of some help inshaAllah.

May Allah guide us all towards His path pr

Unless we're only eating that which we kill ourselves, there is no guarantee that whomever slaughtered the animal 'pronunced' God's name anyway. Each soul is held accountable for its own deeds. Forgive me If I am not gonna put my blind faith in someone who claimed to have slaughtered an animal using the 'halal' method. I've known people who have owned 'halal' meat shops and believe me there is no guarantee. Out of halal meat? No problem, let's go buy the regular meat and sell it off as halal. This happens all the time.

When we are not sure the Prophet said say Bismallah yourself and eat.

What about when we are sure that God's name has not been pronounced ?

Just say bismillah and eat. No need to make things complicated &nbsp
When we eat God's food without his remembrance, we have forgotten to appreciate God for the way he's blessed us with a necessity that is also such a decadent pleasure. We have subconsciously 'dedicated it to other than God'.
